  1. Her Story

  2. Her Story

Gah. I dragged a clip down to the bottom bar by mistake, couldn't figure out how to remove it. It's labelled "user session", so I tried the "delete session data" and that reset the entire game two hours in.
  3. E3 2015

I take more issue with it just being Amazon UK, because the UK market is often an outlier.
  4. PC Gaming - Graphics and Performance

My thinking was that if he's not going to replace the other parts relatively soon (1 year) then he'd be better off waiting to buy that high end GPU until he can afford to build a new machine from scratch, because there's a decent chance new cards will be out by then. A 560 is just a very cheap stopgap.
  5. PC Gaming - Graphics and Performance

A 900-series GPU is going to be bottlenecked by your CPU, and you can't upgrade your CPU without getting a new motherboard. It's still going to be way faster, but those GPUs cost a lot and it's really wasted money unless you upgrade the other parts soon afterwards. Maybe buy something like a 560GTX used, it's not going to cost you much at all. CPU performance has increased at a much lower rate than GPU performance, but over eight years it still adds up. If you want to play higher end stuff like The Witcher 3 you're probably going to have to start from scratch. Good thing is that even a cheapish PC will outperform current gen consoles.
  6. Her Story

I bought this last night but haven't had time to play it yet, looking forward to it!
  7. Speaking of TLOU, is it worth playing even if you know how the story goes? I had no plans of buying a PS3 (still don't, except maybe for DeS one day) so I gorged on spoilers for the game, and now it's on PS4 obviously.
  8. E3 2015

I mean, there's nothing wrong with that. For me though it feels like the difference between buying a one time use item versus something you can keep for a while. Not saying that's a fair comparison, because obviously consoles last a while, but psychologically it's similar for me. I also play my old games a lot, last night I played my copy of Quake 3, not sure if most people do.
  9. Backlog Busters

The Witcher does feel like it goes on forever, it's not paced very well. I have a slight urge to replay it though.
  10. Batmazement: Knightly Man Bruce

Have they improved the stealth sections at all? I thought they were okay in the first game, but after two more identical games I'm sick of them. I don't find them interesting to play at all.
  11. General Video Game Deals Thread

I had fun with Borderlands, but it's long (25+ hours), very repetitive and it's got its share of other issues too. For that price I'd recommend it. I think it's most fun in the beginning anyway, so it's low investment in that sense too. Never played BL2 as I didn't like the first one enough, will be giving it a shot now though.
  12. Her Story comes out tomorrow, RPS seemed to like it. I think it looks like it could be quite interesting.
  13. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

It came out right before or during the winter sale, so this is the first time it's had a big discount (I might be wrong). For me, 40€ is more than I'm willing to pay for most games (it might be worth it but it's a lot higher than what people expect to pay for an indie puzzle game). I'd heard enough good things that I was basically just waiting for it to go on sale though. Wouldn't surprise me if a lot of other people were the same way.
  14. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

For me: Talos Principle Unity of Command The Witcher (lost my disk) Shogo:MAD (on GOG) Thoguht about a few games, like Brothers, but I still have plenty of stuff from the winter sale I need to get to.
  15. E3 2015

Because buying multiplatform games on consoles is a shit deal. Given the choice I'd much rather buy them on PC where I know I'll be able to play them years from now, and they'll look and run better too. Not to mention the games tend to be cheaper on average. That's my perspective anyway.
  16. Deus Ex Universe

That looks like more of Human Revolution except prettier. Having just this week finished a playthrough of the original Deus Ex I was hoping they'd bring it more in that direction and expand the RPG elements. Looks to me like they're doing the opposite though, the Crysis like gun customisation UI makes me think there might not even be a real inventory this time around. I mean, I like Human Revolution but it wasn't cut from the same cloth as the three classic immersive sims. Same thing with Dishonored. Kinda wish they'd gone with a new protagonist too, Jensen has no personality and that voice grates on me. Earlier in this thread I complained about the writing and while there isn't much to go on this gameplay video gave me the same vibes as that CG trailer, which is that they're being too on the nose. In the first 30 seconds the narrator explains what is presumably the main theme of the game, and the next five minutes are spent listening to the characters doing the same while witnessing small scenes that lay it on even thicker. I'm not going to say it's bad, but that is not the kind of narrative content that's going to keep me interested for 20 hours.
  17. How are you playing it?
  18. Enemy despawning is gone too I heard, but warping from the start isn't. I hope that isn't indicative of the world design. Dark Souls 2 needed warping because you couldn't easily get from one place to another. Personally I wish it was more of a late game thing like Dark Souls. If you could warp from Blighttown to Darkroot just to farm some moss that would change the experience of going through that place so much.
  19. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

Shovel Knight and Divinity both only went down to -33%. I might be spoiled but I was hoping for a larger discount considering they're both a year old.
  20. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

Aside from the nauseatingly low FoV Vegas 2 is a blast. I must've played the campaign half a dozen times. It also has a voice acted main character with a gender option, which you wouldn't expect.
  21. The thing that makes me apprehensive about this game is that it's being made by the studio that developed the Arrival and Omega DLCs. I'm not sure what the consensus are on those, but I thought they were by far the worst pieces of content for their respective games (long before I knew who developed them). I'm sure some people from the original ME team have moved over, but still. Doctors are gone, Hudson gone and Karpyshyn gone.
  22. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

Unity of Command is 85% off. Haven't played it but I've heard nothing but good things about it.
  23. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

Your electricity bill for running a clicking macro running overnight is probably more than what the cards are worth.
  24. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

Ah, I remembered to buy Talos with 5 minutes left. Almost forgot like I usually do.
