  1. Anyone have a link to those hilarious Bon Jovi vocals?
  2. Part 1: Part 2: Not sure if this was already posted or not, but this is one of the most extraordinary and fascinating interviews I've read in a long time. One can only hope the post Obama presidency is just him going around interviewing literary authors. The audio version is excellent as well ( Part 2 touches on the importance of reading novels, democracy, among many other topics. Great stuff!
  3. About that discussion re: ripped male leads in summer blockbuster movies (particularly comic book ones), Hollywood Reporter came out with a piece last year in which they talked with a Hollywood trainer who estimated that 20% of actors used PEDs to bulk up. It's not really surprising given the explosion of HGH/PEDs in other sports (like MLB), in the 90s and early 2000s: Patrick Hruby of Sports on Earth (sad to see that site go...) also had a good article about this recently:!by7Zq4

  8. General Video Game Deals Thread

This week's Indie Royale bundle contains Zafehouse Diaries, as discussed in episode 98. Looking forward to checking this one out!
  9. iPad gaming

Check out this link too for more on the development:
  10. iPad gaming

It's fantastic. I recommend you play it on an iPhone though as it uses tilt controls as one of its gameplay mechanics. Don't let that turn you off, the tilt controls are implemented well. It's got a unique sense of style too that's refreshing to see on the App Store. One review likened it to a "Nintendo level of polish".
  11. iPad gaming

Ridiculous Fishing is out now on iOS, so check it out! It's made by a dream team of iOS developers: Vlambeer (Super Crate Box, Luftrausers), Zach Gage (Spelltower), and Greg Wohlend (Hundreds, Gasketball). Oh yeah and the music was done by Eirik Suhrke (who did the music for Spelunky & Hotline Miami). I can confirm it's not a Super Black Bass clone.
  12. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

For anyone that's read Building Stories, I recently discovered a podcast that discussed it during one of their recent episodes. They also posted an interesting overview on their blog, discussing the themes and connections throughout. Check it out if your interested (contains spoilers): I also recommend checking out their podcast for anyone interested in non-superhero related comics, good stuff!
  13. eReaders - What is everyone's thoughts?

Yeah I hope the publishers eventually begin to move towards what the movie & music industry have already been doing the past few years w/ the Bluray + DVD + Digital combo packs. I own a vinyl player and even when you buy a newly released record, they usually include a download code to own the music digitally. It just makes sense, especially when you think about how little it costs the publishers to distribute an individual digital book.
  14. eReaders. What is everyone's opinion on them. Do you enjoy them? Which one do you use? Also, if you don't use one, how come? I'll start off that I own a Kindle 2 and use to read it on the train. I loved how convenient it was to read on public transit (easy to hold in one hand, can carry multiple books with me, etc). However, I've just recently in the last few months made the switch back to paper and I think I've settled on physical books again. One of the things that made me switch back to physical was the Kindle 2's screen resolution wasn't that great IMO, especially when you compare to a real book. Plus, there's just something about reading an actual, physical book in my hands. Also I missed perusing my local bookstore, especially the used & recommendation section, for cool finds. I don't know, maybe the newer Kindles or iPad Mini are better than my 3+ year old Kindle 2. They have a higher resolution, plus a backlight, etc. However, I'm happy now to have made the switch back to physical books. Plus I got a sweet stack of the Idle Book Club books for Xmas! (Evidence of Things Unseen + Telegraph Ave)
  15. I believe a movie, but I'm not sure which one. Anybody know the name?
