I don't think you can glom all of nintendo together like that. They do have a very strong hardware division but don't forget that they have distinguished teams of developers with real talent that have put out some incredible games over the years. If Nintendo hardware folded all those dev teams would still be valuable.

My pet theory is that they saw Dishonored when it was in development, said "oh shit," went to the publishers and asked for more time/a delay. I could be am probably way the fuck off on this one.

What!! It's one of the best ones! Not only is it a great story by itself, it builds up so much stuff that pays off in episode 3...

I just finished the game so it's worth the double post. first of all if you're tipsy or even drunk going through this isn't so bad. Secondly seeing the names of Rami, Brandon, and Phil in the game as masks warms my heart. Thirdly I love that there is finally a game that is so STRONG in its aesthetic and design choices it REPULSES people. As a fan of GRINDCORE I appreciate this deeply. I love art that offends people at surface value. When I first encountered this game at fantastic arcade I loved it. Later on I gave cactus a great big hug for making this game, when I found him. I may have done the same for norrland. (what, you haven't played norrland? you dummy) There NEEDS to be a space for games that are SO offensive that people can't handle it. Just like there's an undergroujnd scene in music where people like me worship , there can be a space in games for shit that seems so vile it's almost - almost- unconsumable for mass audiences. This game ruuuuuuuuuulllllleeeeeed. VIDEO GAAAAAAAAMMMMEEEEEESSSSSSs

As somebody who spent a LOT of time in middle school on wookiepedia contributing stuff about boba fett, mandalorians, and clones, I shudder to think . Honestly if they're making 7, 8, 9, I'm sure we can expect all that stuff to get shit on. A big messy wet shit.

I love that. Makes me feel like a gremlin or something

I agree with the sentiment that the fourth episode is the weakest so far. Especially after how good 1, 2, and 3 were. For me it was pacing and writing issues. The writing, stuff the characters were saying in particular, just seemed really flat. Lots of cheap shots. I didn't feel any connection to what I was doing there. This is the only episode that took me more than two sessions to complete. I think it was like 5 for me, from when it came out to now.

So you're saying in a book setting is more important to you than execution?

Anybody wanna talk about how

I was in 7th grade and also 14 when I started playing it, in 2004. Also played tribes 2 and starcraft a lot. I think that math is correct...

Hmm, I guess the whale oil thing didn't throw me because I encountered it first as a game system instead of a fictional resource. My suspension of disbelief wasn't broken by a lack of explanation though. It also didn't seem weird in the context of stuff like the outsider. I just assume "there is magic." "shit is weird."
-
I don't know how on earth you can think that stuff isn't well thought out. Sure there's a lot of weirdness in there, but that's kind of the point. They're building an entirely new world. Especially when you read the books in the world, how can you say that's not well thought out? They thought it out hardcore. I wonder if people had the same reaction to the hodgepodge that is Lord of the Rings back in the day? I'm only ragging because Penny-Arcade said the same thing. "Pastiche." Pastiche of what, a bunch of crazy shit they came up with? Not pastiche.

Oops I meant half-life 1. No I'm not going to go back and edit it.

Man so much of my middle school gaming career was playing this and other half-life 2 mods like the specialists and numerous others. I love NS2. I've been playing the beta build. I highly recommend it. It's a multiplayer experience literally unlike anything else aside the first game. Truly terrifying for humans a lot of the time, great power fantasy on the alien side as well. This game is a lot more well balanced than the mod as well. AAAA+++++++ would play again

That's how I got into it. I follow Polygon, Edge, RPS, and Gamasutra. I like that Polygon is aiming high.

I honestly didn't have a problem with that level like other people seemed to. All you need to do is

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.
