  1. E3 2015

But it resulted in this meme, so all is forgiven
  2. E3 2015

The best piece of news out of E3 for me is that the XCOM and Dishonored sequels won't be coming out at the same time!
  3. Half-Life 3

As I said in the Dishonored 2 thread, Valve is just waiting for Corvo to speak, and then they will release Half Life 3 with a talking Gordon Freeman.
  4. XCOM 2

This looks mostly good, and hopefully the stuff that might prove to be less than great will be moddable (they said enemies showing up won't get any free shots, but I'm okay with the idea of reinforcements getting free shots I think). You should be able to click on a tile and see what LoS looks like from that position. That needs to exist I think.
  5. DISHONORED 2: MISS HONORED

What if Corvo speaks in the sequel, no one flips out about it, and then Valve goes, "okay, now is the time", pulls the switch and releases Half Life 3 with a talking Gordon Freeman?
  6. DISHONORED 2: MISS HONORED

This. The cheap moralizing was so dull. The DLC was definitely my favorite part of Dishonored in no small part because they moved away from that and into more of a "film noir" kind of tone that felt more appropriate for the world. Unfortunately the trailer doesn't give me a lot of room for optimism on this front. Still stoked for this game though!
  7. Although I don't have any interest in watching season 2 of this show, a rewatch of the 1st season sounds fun, so I'm looking forward to that!
  8. DOTA 2

Man, I don't think anything announced at E3 is gonna top my excitement for this UI update. Everything about it is so good.
  9. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

The two games I was waiting to go on sale did (Homeworld Remastered, and Grey Goo). I think those will be the only big purchases I make, although I'm sure I will end up picking up a handful of smaller indie titles.
  10. Dota Today 17: Aui_2000

Sean Vanaman was cursed by Valve for interviewing three DOTA professionals: Synderen, Blitz, and then Aui. He was cursed because, as is well known, the number 3 is not permitted by Valve. As punishment for this transgression there will be no more DOTA Today podcasts until the next Diretide. Truly, we are a forsaken lot.
  11. I'm the only person I know that prefers Manhattan clam chowder to New England clam chowder. I probably like it because it isn't really a chowder at all, it's a tomato sauce and therefore more like a soupy version of a stripped down cioppino. I'm really not into the cream base used for a proper chowder; it's far too heavy for my taste.
  12. The Last Guardian

So do you not take reviewers seriously if they don't 100% games because if they don't they don't really "get" the game? Man, what a silly argument.
  13. The Last Guardian

It's Ico and SotC remastered, and they both look lovely.
  14. Also from the Missing Pieces there is that scene where Sarah is wearing some of Laura's clothes that give her a school girl clothes which heavily insinuates that Sarah is also the victim of Leland's abusive sexual desires. So yeah, I think Apple Cider is absolutely correct about Sarah knowing what's going on, but she is also so thoroughly traumatized and filled with shame that she is unable to do anything about it.
  15. Steam Box

  16. Episode 300: Vietnam '65

What's your impression of the update Bruce? I remember on the podcast there were some concerns about adding a weather system. Have the changes made the game more fiddly and/or random, or are there some good additions here?
  17. You are wrong, I was not disappointed! I found it hilarious that your girlfriend was checking the game at 3 AM or whatever to see if there were special night cats. I don't think I know anyone that has gone THAT deep with the game. I like it just because of how passive the experience is compared to other games. I'm really into the idea of games that basically run on their own in the background with minimal interference from the player.
  18. Oh man, I am excited about the Neko Atsume discussion! This game has taken on a strange obsession among my circle of friends for the last month. I think I almost ready to leave it behind now that I am very close to having observed all the cats.
  19. David Lynch loves the double identity thing, we see this over and over again in his work. I find Lost Highway is the most striking example of it where we seem to have two different female characters played by the same actress, and two different male actors playing the same person sort of.
  20. Twin Peaks Discussion

I always half jokingly thought that Diane was just a imaginary figure in Agent Cooper's mind. This deleted scene (aside from being terrible) doesn't disprove that theory!
  21. I haven't gotten around to listening to the podcast yet, but I watched the Missing Pieces which I had never seen before. My impression is that while there is some wonderful stuff in there, I'm glad none of it made it into the movie as I feel like the movie would feel a lot less sharp with a lot of that material.
  22. 1. I think you're maybe taking my comment out of context. 2. I never said I had a low tolerance for frustration. 3. I don't think it is evident that is true at all.
  23. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

Without getting into spoilers, god this game made so many smart decisions.
