Well I'm convinced! GamerGate plans to move its 'theatre of war' from Twitter to Tumblr. Because everything's a military campaign to them. Some choice quotes: Considering what their message is, I'd say they're done a surprisingly good job of spreading it. "Hey, Pikachu thinks GamerGate is cool, so it must be!" Sorry, can't say any more, I've just died from barfing too much.

The song 'The Wizard' was written in response to the announcement of the Wizard as a class in Diablo III, back in episode 5. The 'Shitty Wizard' was coined in episode 50, when Chris was talking about the wizard in Torchlight who enchants your stuff, but occasionally just breaks it.

Judging by the fact that he's using it as his Twitter avatar, I'm guessing Sargon_of_Akkad is the shitty wizard from the GG fanart. Also it looks he's only now realising that the Clickhole article about GamerGate is satire.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've seen 'either you're ignorant or lying' used against Gaters. It's just one of those things that gets thrown around, I think, like 'nice ad hominem!'.

As someone who has basically made it his mission in life to debunk and discredit Anita, I'd say that's a pretty fair assessment. I've not watched a lot of Colbert, so I don't know much about his politics, but I'm going to guess that he's pretty left wing, so the kinds of things that Thunderf00t was expecting him to 'take Anita to task' on seem entirely out of character. EDIT: That kind of reads like I've made it my mission in life to discredit Anita. I meant Thunderf00t.

Yeah, the whole point of that question is that it's rhetorical, and he's playing a caricatured devil's advocate. He doesn't actually expect her to name three games, and she understands that, so she doesn't. That people in GamerGate don't understand this, and are using it as proof that she doesn't know anything about games is wholly unsurprising, as we've seen many times before that reading comprehension is a bit of a sticking point for them. I read that article back when it happened, and it's a really fascinating piece! I recommend reading it just because. But yeah, there's definitely no favouritism of Zoe in it; in terms of covering the sexism angle I'm pretty sure he mentions Adriel Wallick just as much.

I think this is actually the case. In a response to a comment on his latest video by a guy completely missing the point of Anita's videos, he said: So yeah, I think he didn't get it in the past, did some reading and thought about it some more, and now he does. I did initially think the text at the end of the Measured Response video was a little muddled about its intent, but I'm inclined to agree with Jon and Twig's reading of it, that he's just saying her arguments are pretty basic stuff, so it shouldn't be so hard to parse them.

The third of your quotes here is just about the most depressing thing I've ever read. I don't understand how people get like this. I keep seeing people tweeting about Game City, and it makes me sad that I didn't go! Also thanks for writing this; it's optimistic and encouraging.

Man, I've seen some of her tweets about servant classes, and they're the kind of things that would be in pretty poor taste if said ironically, but apparently she's serious? It's wholly unsurprising that she's one of the interviewees in The Sarkeesian Effect teaser. Don't watch that, by the way; the sound quality will make your ears bleed. Watch Matt Lees' director's commentary of it:

I got an email from Amazon with a code for the demo, due to having pre-ordered Pokémon X. Played it a bit, and it seems nice enough, although I don't really care about the story stuff, which is basically all it seemed to show. Although it did reveal that the haven't fixed the bad 3D in battles, and the slowdown that you get from turning it on, which is really disappointing. Mega Beedrill! All of my prayers have been answered. I've always been a Beedrill fan, in spite of the fact that it's not very good. Also good to see Mega Sableye!

Every time I look at Tumblrs like that, I veer from infuriation to depression to sheer disbelief. So for a start, basically everything that's purporting to be a Leigh Alexander tweet is a fake. And not even a good fake; anyone with half an eye for fonts can see that. One of the posts in the second Tumblr is a fake by someone who can't even tell the difference between a serif font and a sanserif font. And Leigh's a fucking writer, but most of these tweets look like they're written by someone who can barely string a sentence together. But they convince enough people that the damage is already done. The purpose of them is to make people think she's a monster, and they do. Fucking infuriates me. Next are the 'harassment' tweets, which are basically just people saying that they'd like to kill all GamerGaters, and that kind of thing. They're kind of dumb, but people are frustrated about this, I guess. And obviously, there's a massive difference between expressing anger at an amorphous group of people and a sustained campaign of individual harassment directed at a single person. Also, a lot of these are jokes that fly right over peoples' heads. Like, people thought this tweet by Steve Hogarty was serious. So, these don't count either. But then there are the doxxings, several of which are posted in the second of those two blogs. I mean, I can't look at these and assume they're all faked. But what can we do? As has been said in here before, the subset of people that are opposed to GamerGate basically includes everyone that isn't part of their movement, so there are going to be some real shitheels in there, the kind of people who would do this kind of thing for a laugh. But can we say 'they don't represent us' without it being a No True Scotsman situation? I don't see any way of policing these guys. I dunno, I'm just going around in circles.

This fucking article! Grayson's name on a list of 50 people is 'incontrovertible proof that [he] was an intimate of Zoe Quinn'?! And saying 'This game would have been dead in the water months ago without you all' about all those people somehow translates into Zoe saying, “DEPRESSION QUEST DEAD IN THE WATER WITHOUT GRAYSON”? I don't understand how these people can function in society! It makes me want to tear off my arm and beat myself with it.

Christ. If there's one thing I'll never forgive GG for, it's putting Milo in a position where I actually have to bear witness to his idiocy. I liked things much better when I could ignore him entirely.
