Command & Conquer 3 screens (warning: deceptive title)

Recommended Posts

One of the artists put some of his stuff of the cancelled C&C3 project on his portfolio. The site has gone down since he posted the pics, but a fansite has some copies.

C&C3 was to be the real sequel to Tiberian Sun, using the C&C: Generals engine. A concept video of the game is still playing as part of a montage in the lobby of EA-LA (a blurry photo of which not so long ago stirred up rumors).

At least it's nice to be able to look at what could have been.

Note the awesome looking sandbags! :sombrero:

Why Ea? Whhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?

Maybe 3D is going out of fashion and they didn't think it would make enough money. I want 4D games now... :hmph:

I'm surprised that EA cancelled this.

Let's think about it.

It's a Command & Conquer game. [tick]

It's a sequel. [tick]

It's in 3D. [tick]

It's going to be bought regardless of quality. [tick]

This post was brought to you by the EA games commissioning division.

I'm quite sure Generals didn't do as well as they hoped. Maybe that's why.

Then again, EA isn't know for being particularly selective about the games they release. :hmph: Or are they?

Man, those Google ads are smart. I come into this thread and it's showing all Command & Conquer ads.

Well, apparently it sold well enough to warrant an expansion pack.

woah, those shots look stunning! damn, c&c really isnt gonna be the same without the GDI vs. NOD games. and judging from the basic interface, it was gonna be the side-bar similar to the old C&C's.

as for the "why was it canned" question, it wasnt because generals sold badly ... infact, i think it sold pretty well. it was canned because those bastards at EA shut down westwood.

Strange...

I would imagine though, we haven't seen the last of the Command and Conquer franchise.

It's sold extremely well over the years.

The series has always been of high quality, and those graphics look really, really nifty.

More is the pity.

Any word on Warcraft 4?

:)
