If anyone sees this on Saturday the 31st and knows London pubs

Recommended Posts

Trying to meet up with some friends in London to do a short podcast/vidcast for the buddy's site and we were trying to find a pub to meet up in London and chat.

Looking for somewhere that isn't going to be completely mental in the area between Victoria and Paddignton (or anywhere centralish) that might be suitable for the occasion.

If anyone can at least offer some suggestions it would be much appreciated.

Can't think of any off the top of my head, what I'd do is use beerintheevening.com or fancyapint.com and try to find one five minutes away from the main roads.

Thunder and Nach might be able to suggest some. Which was that pub near Channel 4 where we went on the night I left my bag in a flowerbed?

That was The Barley Mow, just around the corner from Scotland Yard.

I can't think of anywhere that you'll be guaranteed quiet. The Cider Tap opened recently near Euston Station, is tiny, and has an upstairs that might not be busy (It also only serves cider. It's built into one of the huge stone gateposts outside the station, and there's a beery pub in the one opposite).

Just down the road, near Great Portland Street, is the Albany, which is fairly spacious and you might be able to find a quiet spot. They also have a basement that's sometimes open, thought that might only be for special events.

There are some very quiet roads around Lancaster Gate, right near Paddington, though you might struggle to find a pub there at all. You're much more likely to get peace and quiet in a hotel bar somewhere.

That's been a massive help, combining the two posts we have settled on heading to Lancaster Gate as we can always do stuff in the park if the pub we select is too loud.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer my post, I know it was a bit short notice.
