Patters Posted February 2, 2010 I thought this would be a better idea to make my own thread than spam the Project Trico thread (The Last Guardian). That's unfortunate, but not actually anything to do with this game Are there any third party PS3 compatible controllers? It's the fact that I want this game, but I Can't justify getting a PS3 with the input problems. There are remapping tools, however they are crap (according to a friend who got one for his fight stick) I could put a PS3 controller in a 360 one, however the expense would be horrible. I really wish at this point we were heading towards a universal wireless/wired input code, which is become the norm between 360 and PC gaming, though I doubt that a Sony controller will work on the 360 or subsequent models and vice versa, which is a pity as I am sure there are other people who have the same problem as me and suffer with an Xbox controller. Of course this may seem a bit nit picky when there are those who are missing or partially missing limbs, thus have adapted controllers to suit their own needs, however it is my belief that a there are controllers with the same number of buttons, they should be cross compatible. Finally I would like to add: I am not disabled in anyway, it is just an affliction I suffer from. Relevant follow on discussion can/should involve similar afflictions, partial sight loss including colour blindness and anything else relevant
Squid Division Posted February 2, 2010 At the risk of making this thread about controllers, I have to agree, but I actually have more problem using the 360 controller for long periods of time. It causes my ring and pinky fingers on my left hand to start aching at the knuckle. I have fairly big hands and long fingers, so there isn't really any controller outside of the Gamecube controller that feels all that great. I wish they made them fuller and a little wider. Also, your post doesn't have a lot of context. Even going back and reading the Last Guardian thread, I'm not quite sure what your affliction is (what's RSI?). Also, I'm sure someone can post a link to the video of Gabe Newell giving a presentation to deaf gamers and getting feedback from them. It's really interesting in respect to how they play games, but also as far as game design goes to portray narrative or character visually like good actors do. They bring up Alyx Vance from HL2 as one of their favorites since she's very expressive and this is what defines her even for non-deaf gamers.
toblix Posted February 2, 2010 Maybe they were doing research for Left4Deaf.

Patters Posted February 2, 2010 Also, your post doesn't have a lot of context. Even going back and reading the Last Guardian thread, I'm not quite sure what your affliction is (what's RSI?). Sorry, I have loose ligaments, and underwent Physiotherapy regularly till I was about 10, which affects plenty of things, which now I am used to, apart from the occasional twisted or sprained ankle and my hands. Which is likely to be the cause in my case. RSI would probably be explained best by wikipedia If you are interested, I wouldn't blame you if you weren't, it causes my hand writing to be fairly terrible, and inconsistent, meaning I have to use thick ball point pens or almost any fountain pen. At the moment I have been using a Parker Urban while not technically the best pen I have used, including Parker 45s, it is easily the most comfortable for me to hold and use. Also Toblix, that was fantastic.
