Duke Nukem Trilogy more like ... WTF ?!...

Recommended Posts

Considering that the 2001 iteration of Forever had loads of city footage, and it real-world setting was one of the strongest aspects of Duke 3D, I really can't imagine them scrapping it.

...but the game is on it's 5th or 6th complete refit now, so anything's possible. The DNF footage shown echoes nothing of the various 2001 snippets and screenshots, which is what makes me indifferent towards it now.

As I said though, it's just a random bit of gameplay taken with shakycam. Duke 3D had loads of areas which could have easily been the equivalent of this. I think in the grand scheme of things it's practically meaningless when it comes to gauging what type of environments the game will feature.

I'm really curious to see if the Duke will have any appeal to people who didn't grow up on his games in the 90s. His character and appearance are absolutely not what has been in vogue for the past 5 years or so in video games.

No; a more Japanese approach: emo appearance, black or dark flowing hair, more effeminate face. Dark Sector; Alone in the Dark, The Darkness, that sort of stuff. And frankly, even a steroid beast like Marcus from Gears of War has more sophistication in his make-up than the Duke.

And everyone in Gears is overtly "metro" anyway, which is nice and trendy. :shifty:

The Duke's just a meat-headed pig.

Here's a nice idea, though: Duke Nukem Brain Training!

"Tits, ass, ass, tits..."
