soapy Posted March 23, 2006 I found an old thread that was closed about this... but looks like VGL is starting back up again, is anyone going? I actually just found out yesterday and bought tickets for tomorrow's show in SJ. I've been to the Final Fantasy concerts that kicked off E3 and GDC. They were awesome since I'm an FF fan, but I'm curious to see how Pong will sound orchestrated.
Tanukitsune Posted March 23, 2006 Pong.... doesn't have a soundtrack.... If they don't have the Minibosses or Machinae Supremacy then it's not worth it...
soapy Posted March 23, 2006 http://www.video gameslive.com/index.php?s=info Pong's included.... somehow. They even have that questions on the FAQ. I hear Frogger is going to be interactive by letting people from the audience play the game while the orchestra follows their gameplay.
n0wak Posted March 23, 2006 I waited for an announcement. It was delayed. They announced Toronto, had a venue. Then I heard nothing for months. Turns out it was cancelled. But they had a new venue. For real this time. With tickets for sale. So I bought a ticket. Then it was cancelled and I had to commute down to Roy Thompson Hall to get a refund. Now I hear they're trying to announce a new Toronto show. Um. Yeah. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... you can't get fooled again.
soapy Posted March 23, 2006 Ahh.. that was the whole thing behind it being cancelled. I knew they had done a couple of shows and then they cancelled. I didn't realize they did it several times. That must be frustrating. No wonder this show isn't sold out. There are probably a lot of tickets left.
miffy495 Posted March 24, 2006 If they ever decide to hit Calgary, I'll probably have a look. Edmonton's more likely though, what with Bioware and all, but it's 3 hours away and this is still all speculation. Stupid cowboy province...
Kolzig Posted October 14, 2006 Leading up to the actual music, I was so excited I actually drew blood from some stranger I gripped hysterically, but once the middle-aged, plaid-clad gentlemen took their places at their keyboards and guitars, the magic quickly faded. These boys had obviously not practiced a lick in the decade since these games came out, and it showed. They looked small and jaded in the glare from the giant screens, and the respectful but uncomprehending orchestra. And they just sounded messy. Did it really go like that?
