MrHoatzin Posted January 5, 2005 In the Computer World album, they pretty much repeat nine words over and over. There ain't much hidden wisdom there, but I don't understand why they have "Interpol und Deutsche Bank, FBI und Scotland Yard" in the same line? What does Deutsche Bank have to do with the rest of them?
Intrepid Homoludens Posted January 5, 2005 Careful, Steeeeevan. Sometimes silly lyrics are just silly lyrics. I love 'Tour de France', so homoerotic with the panting sounds. I like also 'Autobahn' and the club remake of 'Computerlove'. Damn, obliquely attractive German nerds with synthesizers and a sense of rythm!! Arguably the grandfathers of Techno. Wormsie Posted January 5, 2005 I've been listening to Kraftwerk's Tour de France, and haven't been too impressed. The first albums are probably better.
Intrepid Homoludens Posted January 5, 2005 Have you heard 'Autobahn'? So pretty. I'm listening to 'Computerlove' right now, btw..... "Another lonely night, lonely night Stare at the t.v. screen, t.v. screen I don't know what to do, what to do I need a rendezvous, rendezvous Computerlove.... I call this number, call this number For a data date, data date I don't know what to do, what to do I need a rendezvous, rendezvous Computerlove...." Who would have thought they'd predate Internet romance, online pr0n, and chatrooms by two decades?
Marek Posted January 5, 2005 so homoerotic with the panting sounds. What makes panting sounds specifically homoerotic? You're offending my heterosexual sensibilities.
Wormsie Posted January 5, 2005 I think I've heard a remake of Autobahn... What I enjoy most about wholly electronic "retro" dance music - besides the beat - is trying to pick out synths and waveforms. It makes me feel special to know how exactly those sounds were (probably) created. That sounded really nerdy, didn't it.

Intrepid Homoludens Posted January 5, 2005 What makes panting sounds specifically homoerotic? You're offending my heterosexual sensibilities. So? That's how I interpreted them. They feel homoerotic to me.
