MrHoatzin Posted November 23, 2004 I just bought the game and while installing from the 4th CD (out of five), the game reported error 1334 in halflife2.ico1 -- saying that it is not on the CD... and then it aborts and the game deletes what it has installed so far. I tried installing it twice and got the same shit both times. AAAAAAHHHH!!! If any of you motherfuckers mention downloading the game through Steam, or ask why I didn't buy the DVD-ROM version, I swear I'll ban your unconstructive ass. Erkki Posted November 23, 2004 Why didn't you buy the DVD version?
Chris Posted November 23, 2004 I know this is probably what you just told me not to say, but is it possible to download through Steam using your CD-key that you bought? I'm assuming the thing you meant not to mention is "Why didn't you buy through Steam?". If I'm wrong and I am in fact being unconstructive, I guess it doesn't matter since I'm pretty sure you can't ban me.

Intrepid Homoludens Posted November 23, 2004 ...I solved the problem. How? Because I may end up getting the bronze version myself.
MrHoatzin Posted November 23, 2004 Apparently, installing Counterstrike when you're installing Half-Life does the trick... the first two tries I clicked off Counterstrike from the install the following games list...
Erkki Posted November 23, 2004 The bastards. I didn't want counter-strike either but there was no option of not downloading it (as far as I noticed).
