Ninja Dodo Posted October 28, 2004 I've been considering getting this as a tattoo: ... but looking around the web it seems to be not entirely uncommon. I'd prefer to do something original.

Intrepid Homoludens Posted October 28, 2004 A certain somebody that just broke up with his Girlfriend (much to my delight) was telling me how he'd got a tattoo of her name on his hip, and now he's gonna have it laser removed because he ultra super regrets it. That is one of the worst things anyone can do. Relationships are volatile by their very nature. Never, ever have a lover's name or whatever inked on you, you'll regret it later even if the relationship lasts. There are exceptions, but they're rare. Such as if the relationship changes and there is no bad blood between you and your former love, and it ends in a bittersweet, amicable way. That way, the tattoo would symbolize one of the very best times of your life, and you should value that. But many times love ends badly, and you just want to get rid of its souvenirs. And this whole 'trend' of laser removal is ridiculous. It defeats the purpose of tattoos, which is supposed to have very deep, emotional, and lasting significance to their owners. BAH! After years and years of living, I finally realized what tattoo I want to get, and I will get it (soon as I can afford it). And this tattoo I know I will always cherish and never, ever want removed, because its meaning will be dear to me for the rest of my miserable little life. I want it on the inside of my wrist, where I can always see it and it'll inspire me each and every time. Oops, I forgot. Love your stars, Emma. Twinkle forever, baby, you're worth it. Ninja Dodo Posted October 28, 2004 this one looks cooler: Meh... I think simple stylised designs work better than intricate drawings. Plus the point is not so much showing an eye as it is showing that specific symbol, the "wadjet", also known as the Eye of Horus. It's supposed to have protective attributes and such but I'm not a superstitious person, so I don't really care about that. I do however really like ancient egyptian history and art.
