Passing a construction site today, and had to do a double take at this. They're just openly advertising their constant surveillance of us now?

Hearthstone: Because what Magic really needed was F2P mechanics
Gwardinen replied to Problem Machine's topic in Video Gaming
Yeah, I must say once I figured out the shtick of the Hunter class challenge deck I actually laughed out loud. -
I am even later to this party! I have just acquired a 3DS and added a bunch of you in this thread. Please add me too! My dumb code is 4313-2178-7003.

I'm for the lightning squid, myself. Looks like an authentic banner but is also weird and visually interesting.

Yeah, the sense of humour was very charming. The most interesting thing about it to me was just how BIZARRE the mother's reactions felt. I know people like the father character, but I really have no experience with her frame of mind.

As long as Alyx is the protagonist. If they have Gordon Freeman as a speaking role what little character he has will be ruined.

"What's wrong with me?" "I think you're crazy." "I want a second opinion." "You're also lazy!" Dr. Zaius Dr. Zaius, ohhh Dr. Zaius

I wish there was a console rental service that actually worked as it should, because I really want to rent a 3DS to play Bravely Default.

HOTS... no the other HOTS. The Lords Management one damn it!

I am also in this now. Gwardinen#2776 if you want to add me. -
Well wishes on your b-to-the-dizzle, subbes.

Happy birthday, 'blix!

I've played a few games of it, and know a couple of Thumbs have it too.

Obligatory Comical YouTube Thread II: The Fall of YouTube
Gwardinen replied to pabosher's topic in Idle Banter
For whatever reason, that little dancing blob really made me smile. -
I also haven't had a chance to join a league yet. How many people are in this boat? Could we get another one up and running?

That robot is straight ballin'. I immediately began to imagine how it would work if hooked up to a Mindstorms controller with motors all over it... but chances are that would be kind of unwieldy to do. Also those cars are pretty sweet. They are so well designed that I actually presumed at first glance that they were official Lego sets. Tobacco, that rental service is a really neat idea. Once I'm back home I'm going to check whether there's a similar one in the UK.

There also appears to be a flipped version at the bottom. How strange.

The iPad version is now out. I'm impatiently waiting for the Advanced Edition update for the PC.

I have a friend who's starting a company to sell shoes, and one of the things she's going to need is a decent logo. I have no idea how one goes about designing a logo, but there are some pretty talented folks around the Idle Forums, so I thought I'd put out the call. If you think this is something you could do, let me know and I'll put you in touch. I don't know exactly what her requirements are going to be yet, or what kind of pay she'll be offering, so all you'd be signing up for at this point is a conversation.

Frozen Endzone: Get Into the Frendzone With Human Big Dogs
Gwardinen replied to TychoCelchuuu's topic in Video Gaming
So Frozen Endzone is on Steam now in early access. I'm tempted, but the price tag is somewhat significant. That said, each copy is effectively two copies as they all come with a free key. Anyone else thinking of jumping in?- 7 replies

I completely agree with the idea that twirling the sticks somehow feels more legitimate for those kinds of actions. For whatever reason, I'm never as bored and irritated by QTEs that feel like they're dexterous somehow.

I'm wondering, has this forum ever been used to get together or even play (in a play by post fashion) a tabletop RPG, a la Dungeons & Dragons? I've played a little of a few systems, online and off, and it's definitely something I'm interested in trying again, and it seems like it might be something that would have a few adherents in this crowd. Is anyone else interested, or even able to run such a game?

So Gears 3 was released today, and I know that it has a bit of a dudebro reputation around here, but it is a genuinely enjoyable game to play and the story isn't terrible either. I happened to have a preorder of it from a while back, so my copy arrived today and I'm looking for cool dudes to play with. It has a coop campaign and two other coop modes, Horde mode and Beast mode (which looks gorram fun, wave-based survival mode where you're the monsters!) as well as traditional adversarial multiplayer. My Xbox Live username is Lord Tydeus, but you can throw me a message on here or on Steam as Gwardinen if I'm not on Live.

I thought this, but on the way home one of my friends brought up a scene that might just about get it to scrape by:

The only thing that really bothered me about that video was that the combat looked REALLY slow. There was a lot of the guards just standing there looking at him blankly, which has always been a bizarre and unintuitive situation.

You have to open up the Origin program and select redeem product key or something like that, then enter BF3E3.
