You're basically punished for not having cookie-cutter builds in LoL. Riot is also terrible at hero balance (See: Akali, forever) and compared to DotA the game is just easy. I went back and played a few games of LoL last week, and while I was never bad at the game, I was never "three Pentakills in a game" good. To be fair, LoL doesn't punish you for mistakes like DotA does. One of the people I play with frequently played heroes like Renekton, Garren and basically anyone that dives in and does crazy stuff. He still hasn't adjusted to the more cautious style and frequently makes terrible decisions. TL;DR - If you get the chance, give DotA a shot, but be prepared for some skill ceiling shock.

Paradox games have a set start and end time, yes. However, the way that Paradox games can be heavily modded leads to crazy things like playing EU (that normally ends in 1823 something) up to 2025 or something. Unfortunately, AI tends to break going outside the usual timelimits. There's a nation in EU3, called Ryouku. It's a tiny little island south of Japan, off the coast of China. The achievement in the game that awards the most points is to conquer the entire world as Ryouku. It starts as a single province, with the second worst tech group in the game. It's possible, certainly. But it's almost always more fun to roleplay your country and go for sane goals. A bit of world conquest never hurts though. But beware, France is the Paradox final boss.

If EU3 ever strikes your fancy, buy Chronicles and not Complete. Carry on. Unfortunately, Crusader Kings 2 guides are limited, having just come out. Crusader Kings 1 guides are also limited, most of the CK stuff I know about is in strictly controlled narrative form. If this peaks your interest enough, keep in mind that CK is character driven rather than country, and most of your time is spent plotting machinations. The big draw of Paradox games for many people is playing through a large portion (rarely all of the timespan) of any given Paradox games to see what bizarre things occur as a result of the AI being utterly insane. See if you can spot the things that might be a little off.

Paradox order of difficulty is like this EU3 -> CK(2) -> Hearts of Iron -> Victoria But I can totally understand not being into a specific section of their stuff. I guess that's why they do all these different time periods. As for time investment to get into these games, you can drastically reduce that with a good guide.

Fair warning, in the current beta state, you will have one of these games for every twenty you play. The matchmaking, while not total shit, isn't great right now, and the longer you let that search bar get the worse your experience will be. If you find yourself getting burned out and really need a break, take one.

So I finally sat down and knocked my way through the Main Quest. I was really incredibly ticked off that was a harder fight than any I've had in Skyrim so far. Harder than the final boss, harder than the dragon priest and twenty Draugr before the final boss (though admittedly I just shouted them all off the roof of the temple, so) and that just annoys me. Again admittedly, I just strapped on the 25% Destruction cost decrease mask I'd just gotten and the Robes of the Archmage and shot three fireballs at him, but it felt cheap because in melee he two-hits me.

Biting boobs just gets awkward.

I think we're more concerned that it might be, you know, shit. Far Cry to me is about sandbox man-murder. It might not be that anymore, but it remains to be seen.
