  1. Half-Life 3

Never been sure why people are so willing to play a third Half-Life after the first two were nothing more than technically impressive shooters.
  2. Team Fortress 2 Co-op! Mann vs. Machine

Darksiders 2 is good enough to occupy all that potential.
  3. Movie/TV recommendations

    Everything is ruined forever.
  4. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

    And many great others: http://imgur.com/a/dvFrg/all#0
  5. You really should just abandon when anyone willingly picks Visage. They are trying to throw the game.
  6. Far Cry 3

It's unrealistic to expect anything to come of the sort of, design/consumer relationship revolution that DayZ has created for at least a couple years.
  7. Movie/TV recommendations

Did anyone enjoy Deadwood? Would you like less cursing, more Mad Men in your Deadwood? Watch Hell on Wheels, it is fantastic. Chief O'Brien stars as a real jackass of a rail magnate/baron.
  8. Idle Hooves: CLOP

I was preparing a frothing rage. Now I have nothing to use it on.
  9. I can make five things for myself, the rest of it is basically expensive take-out. Lobster bisque with sauteed onions. Pancakes/waffles. Peppercorn steak. A variety of ribs. Last but not least, a baked ziti that is to die for. And that's about it. Favorite food would probably be perfectly done tilapia (not in the States though), and favorite desert is definitely a Queen of Sheba, which is a frozen chocolate mousse that a local restaurant has.
  10. The Illuminatus! Trilogy

The Illuminatus! Trilogy is just ambling pre-waffle to the real waffle, The Principia Discordia. Still good though.
  11. The only items you need on Skeleton King are a Soul Ring, Phase Boots and a Refresher Orb. ~6000 gold. This cannot be disputed.
  12. V The Elder Scrolls

The biggest problem with Skyrim's procedural quests was the Word of Power ones where a messenger would come up with a letter that said "You used your Voice in place X, there's this Word of Power in place Y! - A friend! *Wink wink*" Frequently, the only other person in what was frequently a dank cave in the ass end of nowhere is your companion. So Lydia, you can't just fucking tell me like a normal person? A letter? This passive-aggressive bullshit needs to stop.
  13. Play more than 8 hours before you give up on it. Go ahead and play people, to start with. Normal bots are far better at coordination and stun layering than players you will face in the beginning (or possibly ever). Give us a couple match codes and we'll tell you what we can. Basic tips would be; Carry a TP at all times H and S will stop your current command to allow you to last hit with more precision (Or just turn off autoattacking in the options, because people who H spam are the worst) Place wards if no-one else well, or ask people to Keep an eye on the map and call MIAs
  14. V The Elder Scrolls

Dungeons in TES haven't been randomized since Daggerfall. Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim are all tileset/lego construction.
  15. Movie/TV recommendations

I don't think I'll ever need to watch The Godfather, Scarface, Donnie Brasco, Goodfellas or The Untouchables ever again. AMCs Mob Week is probably the best "genre/style week of films/programming" that has ever been.
  16. I have consumed an unwholesome amount of SC2 streaming, both GOM/MGL and players streaming themselves, and while I love watching it, you have to admit that it can be very flowchart at times. The execution within the flowchart matters a lot, how you micro, keeping your macro on time, but you see build X or unit composition Y, and unless you're maybe one of five or six completely SC2 Matrix'd players, you build Z and then execute to crush X.
  17. V The Elder Scrolls

It's got about 3/4ths of the content of a single playthrough of SI, maybe a little more. But like SI, it has the ability to go back and see the other side of the fence (Hysteria/Madness, Dawnguard/Vampire Lords) on a second playthrough. It's not bad, and some of the additions in the main game (crossbows!) are really neat. It still suffers from Bethesda storytelling, but I'd have stopped playing TES years ago if I had a problem with that. I think the issue with Skyrim and being "just alright" is that you played it for so long because it's just a fun world to explore and do things in, and come across little scraps of story and nuance, but then things like Blackreach, or your first dragon fight and the short period of story after it, or the first time you get mauled by a bear from the bushes just stand out so much brighter than everything else that it seemed dull. It was fantastic at the time, but all you really remember now is the really awesome stuff. You didn't just fall into a solipsistic trance and play it for 130 hours after all.
  18. I don't know if the meta has changed enough to stop it from happening (I doubt it), but when the first LoL tournaments started up, you'd get a really slow early laning phase for 7-10 minutes, and then a dragon fight, and with maybe two exceptions in forty games, whoever won lanes + dragon won the game, even if, because of the way League is made, the game went for another thirty minutes.
  19. I maintain that the League competitive scene is a joke because of the way League works. (In short, because of AP allowing more or less any character to snowball out of control, most pro LoL games are decided in a matter of a few minutes.)
  20. Roguelikes

They're saying September for a current FTL release date, but we'll see.
  21. Roguelikes

FTL has added a save on quit function, making it an absolute must have for anyone getting into the genre, once it launches.
  22. Life

As in, you were flaming each other, or you were on fire whilst having on argument? 'Cause I dreamed that Kane, as in the professional wrestler, stopped by for a barbecue and we traded gardening tips and talked about jazz for a couple hours. Comparatively, being on fire while posting on forums might be a little less out there.
  23. I haven't the slightest clue why I don't solo top Lone Druid more. What a wonderful(ly bullshit) hero.
