  1. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

Whatever happened to that Fallout MMO? Did that die completely, never to return? Could they bring that back somehow?
  2. Idle Food - Cooking!

Which grater do you have? I'm in need of one for the same reason as you.
  3. Idle Food - Cooking!

You don't need to use bowls the size of the ones in the video, although they certainly make it easier. Smaller containers will work, they'll just require more vigorous shaking. You might get some bruising of the garlic but nothing that will ruin it. For a long time I used a plastic storage container with a lid.

I would fund the heck out of a Teg Patreon or GoFundMe.
  5. Idle Food - Cooking!

I like garlic presses (I really like the smell of garlic so the odor doesn't bother me in the least). The only thing I hate is cleaning them, although that one that Jon linked seems to come with a cleaning tool so that looks like a good investment. And if you want to peel garlic quickly, there's this trick
  6. E3 2015

Something Valve says/does will point to HL3 based on tenuous and farfetched reasoning.

I loved that too. It pretty much represents what I wanted the Star Wars movies to be like.
  8. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I've mentioned it several times in this thread but I promise this will be the last. For those people who didn't like the final boss but liked everything else, I really recommend the Infinite Space mod. It entirely removes the rebel fleet so there's no time pressure and no end boss. Instead of Battlestar Galactica you get Star Trek. It reworks some things to try and keep it balanced (to varying degrees of success) such as the encounters and equipment. Each sector also features a mini-boss that's like a single stage of the final boss from the regular game. For me, it was pretty much exactly what I wanted the game to be in the first place and I enjoyed the heck out of it.
  9. I Had A Random Thought...

So there's this TV at the office that normally just shows company stuff like a stock ticker, upcoming events, corporate messages, etc. Except right now it's playing The Little Mermaid. As in the Disney cartoon.
  10. Life

A while back I posted about a coming up with a solution to a problem on a project I've been working on. Just wanted to follow that up and say that it did indeed work and that portion of the project is now complete. Oh, and this is for Ben CAN YOU FLY YOU SUCKER?!
  11. Hatred: The Most Despicable Game of All Time?

If only that were true (I'm not talking about the game).
  12. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Apart from the thing about fight progress, that pretty much describes the FTL boss to me. I don't mean running away from every fight, I mean encountering a ship configuration that you can't overcome and running away, which is a totally valid strategy and completely fitting with the setting of the game. I'm not opposed to the "final exam" boss in theory, I just felt like this wasn't a good execution of it. It's not testing me on the game's systems when there are boss only systems. Also, I want to state for the record that I do like the game a lot. I just had a lot more fun when I didn't have to deal with the boss.
  13. Hatred: The Most Despicable Game of All Time?

I am literally not allowed to answer those questions.
  14. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

To me, the boss in FTL felt like one it was a case of "this is a video game, therefore there needs to be a final boss". I wouldn't mind that so much except it just doesn't feel as organic as the rest of the game. When I randomly come across an enemy ship that happens to have a configuration that I'm weak against, I'll accept it because that's the luck of the draw. The boss feels like lazy design in a way. It takes every system in the game, turns them up to 11, then throws them all at you one after another. I would have preferred that the boss also be randomized the same way enemies are. Make it strong yes, but have different builds instead of all builds. It's part of the reason the Endless Space mod was fun. It takes what I think is the best part of the game, exploring the galaxy, and makes that the point. But it also has a randomized, single stage boss at the end of each sector to keep things interesting.
  15. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I got into some FTL mods a while back after the Advanced Edition came out. There were two in particular I liked. One added a bunch of new weapon and drone types. The other added an endless mode which let you explore at your own pace but each sector had a boss fight at the end.
  16. Hatred: The Most Despicable Game of All Time?

The gamer part of me thinks the game looks stupid and boring. The human part of me thinks its disgusting and tasteless. The engineer in me keeps screaming "IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY".
  17. Life

Come on people, there HAS to be something we can do. Tegan is an amazing person who deserves our love and support. I refuse to believe that there's nothing that can be done to help. I'm racking my brain trying to come up with something.

Anyone else seen Kung Fury yet?
  20. Which Enterprise? It actually does matter to a degree.

I could swear that's been explained at least once on the podcast.

In more personal and selfish news, the current outage looks like it'll be coming to an end soon. Hopefully by this weekend I'll be a daywalker once more. At least until this fall when I have to do it all again...
