  1. I mainly listen to podcasts on the way to/from work. It's about a half hour each way for me so on average in a week I'll get through one episode of Idle Thumbs, one Bombcast, and maybe half of something else. With the addition of the Beastcast, something's going to have to change out of my rotation and it's probably going to be the Bombcast.
  2. It's an FTP client for Just Cause 3 right?
  3. I Had A Random Thought...

Well, when a futon and a recliner love each other very much...
  4. The Great Co-op Thread

I was going to link to that list as well. I agree that Portal 2 is an amazing co-op experience... the first time. Figuring out puzzles cooperatively is such a great feeling. I felt the same way about 'Splosion Man. I loved the co-op there for the same reasons but it's not nearly as fun a second time around. Meanwhile, I picked up the new Gauntlet during the Steam sale. I haven't yet played it co-op but I can see it being a lot of fun.
  5. I have yet to play Fallout Shelter (I will if it comes to Android) but I would really love it if each time you started a new game it randomly drew from a pool of possible Vault experiments to seed your community.
  6. Cartoons!

I haven't seen the last couple seasons but I really like Archer. Some of the jokes fall flat with me but when they hit I find it to be more hilarious than most. The second season has what are probably my favorite episodes. White Nights in particular cracks me up every time.
  7. Idle Thumbs 214: Ship It, Droopy

While it doesn't take place in VR, my favorite Power Rangers ripoff show was Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills http://youtu.be/qmhRKU5zBS8
  8. Mirrors Edge at E3

That sounds like a good solution to me. Like I said before, I'm ok with there being guns, I just don't want to ever have to use one.
  9. Happy Birthday!

It's a famous birthday today! In fact it's Famous' birthday! Happy Birthday Sean!
  10. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

Thus far I've grabbed Wolfenstein: The New Order, Gauntlet, Super Time Force Ultra, and Dishonored GOTY. I've had my eye on all of them for a while. So far this sale has been hitting some great spots for me.
  11. Idle Thumbs 214: Ship It, Droopy

I too would love that. I especially want to hear her thoughts on The Peacekeeper Wars since I think she still hasn't seen it.
  12. Feminism

Man I love Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal (the comic, not actual cereal. Although that's good too)
  13. Idle Thumbs 214: Ship It, Droopy

Reboot was reference city. X-Files, Sailor Moon, Indiana Jones, Evil Dead, Looney Tunes, Star Trek, Star Wars, and more video games than I can count. But as a kid I loved the shit out of it. More than anything, I wanted a Guardian keytool. And naturally young me really liked the big badass the dorky little kid turns into. That webcomic was terrible though.

    DONE AND DONE
  15. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

I made a clicking macro back when I was playing cookie clicker. I used it a few times in the monster game and it's crashed each time. I'm not using it anymore.
  16. Idle Thumbs 214: Ship It, Droopy

Whoops. I probably looked at it at work which blocks all videos and forgot to check it later.
  17. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

Wolfenstein: The New Order just came up with a 75% discount. So at this point I've already got the one thing I wanted. Anything else is just a bonus.
  18. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

I also preordered Arkham Knight (it was 40% off at Green Man Gaming with a code) which is keeping me from spending too much as well. The things I tend to pick up during sales are smaller games that I can sort of casually play in between the big releases.
  19. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

My general rule of thumb for Steam sales is I don't pick anything up unless its 66% off or more, less than $10, or its during the encore sale. The only thing I'd specifically like to get is Wolfenstein: The New Order but I'll probably pick up random other things as they appear and fit my criteria.
  20. Idle Thumbs 214: Ship It, Droopy

I first discovered there was a red clam chowder after watching Ace Ventura Man, Reboot! I loved that show. I could go on about it here, but I think I'll do what Chris said and send in a reader mail instead.
  21. Idle Food - Cooking!

My mom hardly uses salt by itself because most Chinese cooking already has generous amounts of soy sauce (or some other similarly salty substance). I really only use it when making things that I didn't learn from her. I have one shaker that contains a mix of salt and white pepper that I use a ton though.
  22. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

Mark of the Ninja's lead designer and programmer was Nels Anderson... who now works at Campo Santo...which is making Firewatch... Hellblade is really Firewatch 2. My logic is infallible.
  23. Life

Sir Christopher Lee passed away on Sunday after suffering heart and respiratory problems. I can't say I was his biggest fan but he was certainly an incredible actor.
  24. Mirrors Edge at E3

I honestly forgot those were in the game until just now. But I do remember liking and disliking various aspects of the guys with guns. I liked running and escaping them. I disliked being locked in a room with them and forced to fight. To directly answer your question: yeah, I did get to a part of the game where people were shooting at me and thought "Gee, this is fun!".
  25. I'm sure that like all things Valve, it will be iterated on as time goes. They had to start somewhere and while I think 2 hours is maybe a bit short in some cases (especially if the first 30+ minutes are cutscenes/tutorials/character creation), it beats nothing. I do hope a balance or agreement can be struck for the games that are designed to be smaller so they don't get totally screwed. What I'm wondering is will this eventually lead to the ability to resell a digital game. Preferably in such a way that the developer gets a cut. I know the idea has been proposed before but I feel like it's going to take someone who has a large enough platform and marketplace like Valve to make it viable.
