  1. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

I think in Fate of Atlantis there's a way to basically one hit KO the enemies during fights. Is there an equivalent move in Last Crusade? I usually avoid fights in FoA and haven't played Last Crusade.
  2. Rogue Legacy

There are others that effectively do nothing as well, such as Baldness, Coprolalia (you swear when you get hurt), Hypochondriac, Stereo Blind, and IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome, makes you fart a lot, also makes podcasts funnier). Colorblindness and nostalgia make the game monochrome and sepia toned, but otherwise have no effect on gameplay.
  3. Rogue Legacy

I've finally started a NG+, and while I'm still having fun, I'm experiencing diminishing returns. Normally in a game where the characters have different abilities and skills, I'd pick one and then play it until I'm either, sick of the character, beat the game, or maxed out everything so the game's absurdly easy. Then I start over with another character and the abilities/skills are hopefully different enough that it's like a new game. With Rogue Legacy, because I'm forced to pick a new type almost every time I feel like I've reached the point of saturation with the character classes quicker than I usually would. I think I've reached the limits of the game's originality and now I'm in the grind portion, something I suspect I'll get tired of fairly quickly. Or maybe it's because I've been playing all weekend and my brain is telling me to do something else.
  4. Rogue Legacy

Some of the Prince's journal entries sound like Idle Thumbs forum posts. For instance:
  5. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

Now that's you're done with both Maniac Mansion and Zak McKracken, did you read my earlier not a hint? Every time you mentioned the chainsaw in Maniac Mansion I wanted to say something but I didn't want to ruin the joke.
  6. Sonic & Allstars Racing Transformed

Apparently it's free to play this weekend until Sunday at 1 PDT. Guess I don't really have an excuse not to at least try it.
  7. Rogue Legacy

I've had exactly one gay dude so far. It does seem to favor the ladies.
  8. The Swapper

Has anyone played The Swapper yet? I can't get it to run on my system. Apparently there are a lot of people having issues, something about not working with Intel GPUs. The developer is aware of the bug and working on a fix but there's no ETA so I'm stuck for now. It looks like fun and I like the clay art style. Bums me out that I can't play it. Also, I like that the achievements are simply "I, II, III, IV... X"
  9. Rogue Legacy

I'm enjoying the game so far, but what I'm really surprised I like is all the little references to other media such as other games and anime. That kind of stuff normally gets very old quick but for some reason I'm still finding it hilarious when I find a new one in this game. I'm also extremely glad I kept a wired 360 controller.
  10. Idle Thumbs 113: Shoot That Pizza

I was playing Rogue Legacy while listening to the cast and at one point Jake made a farting noise. I thought it was my character with irritable bowel syndrome until Chris made a comment about Jake farting. For a brief second, I thought that somehow they were reacting to my game before I realized it was Jake all along. I had another character with IBS during the discussion of Last of Us, which made it unintentionally hilarious to me.
  11. Dreams!

I once went to sleep on my side and I had a sideways dream. I don't remember the specifics but it was like watching a movie turned 90 degrees.
  12. The Swapper

    Please...
  13. The Swapper

    ...make it...
  14. The Swapper

    ...stop.

  16. SW The Force Unleashed Two

Exactly. Despite how much it will drive me crazy, I'm not fixing my post now.
  17. I Had A Random Thought...

I'm going to create an account called Zeusthekitten and see if I can trick Zeusthecat into thinking its his bastard child that has tracked him down through Idle Thumbs and see how many video games I can sucker out of him before he realizes. Perhaps I've said too much.
  18. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

I certainly wouldn't want Tim to compromise his vision if he can figure out a way of making it happen in a realistic manner, which is why my above thing doesn't actually bother me. But at the same time I hope he learns from this experience so he's not forced into this situation again. In the case of AAA games and going to the publisher for more money to polish it, there are probably equally many cases where the publisher said "No, we want this game now" and the devs were forced to put out a product they felt was unfinished.
  19. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

One thing that bothers me (and that's an exaggeration beacuse it doesn't actually bother me) is that I kind of expected a studio with some experience making games to have a better idea of budgeting. In the case of a kickstarter where the people in it are making their first game, I can understand going over budget because they haven't done it before. But in Tim's case, I was hoping that wouldn't happen since this isn't his first game. I can't blame him for being ambitious though and as a backer I'm perfectly happy with the solution.
  20. The Swapper

I made one a while ago but no one was replying so I gave up. I still can't get it to run either.
  21. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

I started playing Fate of Atlantis again last night. It's amazing how quickly this stuff comes back even after not playing it for years. The voice acting isn't nearly as good as I remember, but then again it was the first adventure game I ever played that even had voices, so that probably influenced my memories a lot. I still dislike the combat system. I played up to the part where you choose your path (fist, wits, team). I usually go with team because I feel like Indy should have a sidekick like the movies. I did save just before choosing though so I may do a quick wits playthough later. I hate the fists path. I probably won't be playing it too much until Zeus catches up, but I wanted to at least play a little because all this adventure game talk has created an itch that needed to be scratched.
  22. SW The Force Unleashed Two

Oh man, I totally loved the Rupublic Commando game. I expected it to be a generic shooter set in the Star Wars universe and was happily surprised to find a good game. As much fun as swinging a lightsaber is, I actually find the clones more interesting.
  23. Saturday Morning Streams

I completely understand. I wasn't actually complaining. Well, I was but mostly to myself. I like participating in the chat during live streams, but I'll most certainly take a YouTube video if I can't be there.
  24. Saturday Morning Streams

I approve of streaming a game before recording the cast, although I wasn't fond of the time (too close to bedtime). I suppose if they're short it might be ok. I do very much like the idea of having a common frame of reference for the podcast since I don't have the time/money to play many of the games discussed.
  25. Life

I finally pulled the plug on my auto-renewing Xbox Live account after not using it for 2 years. I already feel so much better. Time to find another thing to waste that money on. Also congrats Miffy!
