A Dedicated Thread For Talking About Star Trek Episodes
SecretAsianMan replied to BigJKO's topic in Movies & Television
I'm at the beginning of the end. I've started the multi-part series finale for DS9. I knew a lot of this stuff was coming but it's still kinda surprising to see it happening. Lots of people falling to the dark side. That's in this franchise right? -

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS
SecretAsianMan replied to Henroid's topic in Video Gaming
Oh I know in my head there is no single voice to the internet, but it's hard not to be discouraged and depressed that things like this happen with increasing frequency. Honestly, if it weren't for bastions like Idle Thumbs I'd have given it up long ago. A side thing that was pointed out by JP Lebreton regarding the death threat tweets. -
A combination of stuff I had to do around the house and I forgot is my excuse.

I think my favorite moment in Voyager is when . I was afraid when I first saw him that it was just going to be a TNG cameo thing to try and get viewers because , but it ended up being one of my favorite episodes and Barclay was excellent. -
The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS

Flappy Bird is a weird, crazy story to me right now. First everyone complained that it had sprites ripped off of Mario and that the game sucked yet was making $50,000 a day. Now they're complaining that the game's creator is taking it down, despite the fact that they hate the game and think it sucks. He's been getting a lot of death threats and whatnot on Twitter, which by now is a standard internet response to anything and is a depressing enough thought by itself. I can't say I blame him for not being able to take it anymore. Hopefully it'll blow over quickly and the internet can find some other thing to pointlessly rage on and destroy. -
I beat Yama for the first time today. I got pretty lucky and found a ledge with an overhang so I was protected while I just threw bombs at his head.

Damn it, but computers have become really complicated
SecretAsianMan replied to Erkki's topic in Idle Banter
I've have both a wired Xbox controller and a Razer keypad plugged in at the same time and they've both worked fine. I even had the EXACT same keypad that Tegan has because I sent her my old one. It could be that certain games will recognize another device over the controller, but I wouldn't think the keypad would be one of them since as far as any software knows it's just a keyboard. -
Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

I'm not sure to be honest. I did the daily before Chris so I didn't have any warning, but it didn't happen to me for whatever reason. -
Excellent work Blamo. This may be my favorite of Chris' streams. It guest stars Tim Schafer and various other Double Fine people.

I wasted my Ankh in the jungle so I had to settle for just beating Olmec. But I managed to beat Chris for the first time, in front of Double Fine no less. -
That is fantastic. We need to send it to Patrick so he can use that, and then Chris can use the Klepek skin. I think it would be hilarious to watch them control each other.

I used to like Opera a lot because as far as I know they were the one of the first to implement many now standard browser features (mouse gestures, tabbed browsing, speed dial, etc). The one reason it never became my main browser is because a lot of pages didn't load properly in it. I still keep an install of it but I don't use it very often.

Do you mean Opera the web browser or Opera the dramatic art form? Either way I agree.

Year of Hell is a good 2 parter, but yeah it does unfortunately completely ignore Kes' warnings. There is a little connection to it when -

I think Sean retold that story on a Giantbomb stream, to which Ryan Davis pitched an idea for a shirt that said "Grenades don't kill people, hills kill people"

I had no idea what this was until I saw the trailer and realized I had actually seen it at PAX. -

I think the one thing PvZ2 does right with the pay content is the locked plants, because it encourages you to consider alternative tactics if you played the first game. That doesn't excuse the push toward new pay stuff though.

Google's doodle today calls out the Olympic Charter, specifically the section about how the practice of sport is a human right and should not be subject to discrimination, which is in direct conflict with Russian anti-gay policies.

Death Wish is one of my favorite Voyager episodes, even without the Riker cameo. I like the Star Trek episodes with trials in them (The Measure of a Man; The Drumhead; Tribunal; Author, Author; and even Devil's Due which isn't about any kind of morality or philosophy). -

Watched In the Pale Moonlight. I really like Garak. He's such a scoundrel in the best way. Also watched The Reckoning, Star Trek's version of Dragon Ball Z.
