FWIW, I had the ending spoiled for me already because I'm an idiot. But I don't mind, really. At the point where I am now, I think I would've already seen it coming. IT'S GOOD THO. --- Unrelated: Soooo next season we get Owarimonogatari and now this http://www.kizumonogatari-movie.com/ is it really happening?!?! not vaporware after all?!?!?!?!

Ouran Boast Club - Planning an Anime Podcast
Twig replied to Gormongous's topic in Movies & Television
I believe it's a prequel. Been a while since I watched it (I'll be watching again later it this week). -
wow wow How often do you need to look back on the logs from even a week ago. I never do, even though I've consistently locally stored all my IRC communication since like a decade ago...
-
Oh if that's all the problem is then who cares. Haha 10k messages is a LOT.

Ouran Boast Club - Planning an Anime Podcast
Twig replied to Gormongous's topic in Movies & Television
now that we have two episodes in the editing queue (our primary editor is super busy! and the rest of us don't know how, though we're trying to learn and find time to learn and etc)... it's time to record a THIRD!!!!!!!!!!! Spotlight for this episode is: Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal http://doodle.com/poll/5k8r75735nhdun7a Sorry I forgot to post this in the thread right away. Completely slipped my mind. -
It is IRC at its core, yeah, much like Twitch, but it has a bunch of additional features on top, much like Twitch (although Twitch basically just adds emoji). EDIT: Well, I'm not sure if it's IRC at its core, or if it just allows a connection via IRC. Either way, same effect for us end users. The nice thing about using Slack is maybe it would encourage CERTAIN PEOPLE I'M LOOKING AT YOU KEY FRAMES PODCAST HOSTS to use it on the reg. But anyway as long as I retain the power I have (i.e. I can change the topic at my whim 'cause that's pretty much all I ever use that power for), I'm good. ):< --- I've heard people praise Discord, too! I never looked into it. It seems nice on the surface, though, yeah.

I actually do like slack, but yeah this is the main annoying thing.

Why must you destroy everything I've worked so hard to build!

Yeah it is damn fine. In other news I started watching Your lie in April tonight cause a friend of mine emphatically told me that is his new favorite anime. This same friend thinks Sucker Punch is a good movie so I'm always a bit wary of his recommendations, but here we are... This is really fucking good. Somehow I watched five episodes in rapid succession. I only stopped because I have to sleep so I can actually function tomorrow. Its one flaw is that it suffers from the "young kids (14 ffs) act way too mature for their age" problem that is so common in anime. But it's just really fucking good once you get past that. Damn. Plot summary is kid who gave up piano for emotional reasons meets eccentric and wild violinist, and she tries to get him to play piano again. At least that's it so far. But man it's nice. A word that I might ascribe to this series is... Poetic. The theme is, as you might guess from the title, the lies we tell ourselves and others. It's also amazingly beautiful at every turn dang such good animation daaaang I wanna watch more. ):

Interesting, I should probably catch up on Rick and Morty, then...
-
Rick and Morty does get dark, but eeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhh not like ACTUALLY dark, it's all still cased in this "everything's a joke" shell. Though, admittedly, I've only seen the first two episodes of season two. Bojack gets like seriously dark. As in, it's a serious and consistent aspect of the show. It's more than just dark comedy, though there is a lot of that. It's also a good representation of what it's like to just never be happy and constantly be self-sabotaging and fuck. It's good, and it hurts. I like them both, a lot, but for very different reasons.

Nice. Today I put a bunch of this junk in my Amazon shopping cart. Can't afford it until next paycheck, but it's not as pricey as I was expecting, so that's good!

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I wonder if I still have Wild 9 in a box somewhere. I'm sure I'd think it's terrible today... -

F'real I owned and actually loved Wild 9. -
Hey Arnold! is great! Rick and morty is great! Also, I recently watched all of Bojack Horseman, and holy shit that it is a good one. It gets fucking dark, though. Man.

Eh maybe they'll get to it eventually. It's being done in Unity, so it's really not difficult to "port" to PC when they already have it done for PC. Demos are a lot of work, wouldn't blame 'em to just drop that idea, tbh.

THE MUSIC e: sorry i dunno what's happening to me... e e: the studio is also working on a game called "YIIK: A Postmodern RPG", i am not sure how to take this http://www.twinfinite.net/2015/08/22/yiik-might-be-the-spiritual-successor-to-earthbound-weve-been-waiting-for/ also somebody didn't get the memo, undertale's been the new earthbound since that game was kickstarted

Oh. I have never heard any praise about Two Brothers, haha. In fact, I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about it besides me. (Thinking about it more, though, I do remember the Loving Wife.) F'real though get ready for a completely broken-ass broked game. EDIT: I am not exaggerating that game was nigh unplayable at points. I would only recommend it to people who, like me, have a high tolerance for shitty shitty awful broken messes. I'd... actually even hesitate it then. Maybe they fixed all the bugs, though? "15.1 hrs on record" oh god how did i even manage this, i think i might have even just never beat it, because i either got stuck, or something? i had to look up the ending? i can't remember oh god I dearly dearly wish I could play a version of this game that was actually polished. I think there's something great in there. sorry apparently i have a lot of emotion directed at this game but i don't remember why other than "BROKE"

Yo Two Brothers is a different game from what you're talking about (which is Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons). Significantly different. http://store.steampowered.com/app/259760/ Also horribly flawed, although maybe also extremely interesting? I never was able to decide. It's a weird one. Polish wise is it a broken mess,. Unless I'm forgetting a fridged wife at the beginning of Two Brothers. I don't think I am? God that game was weird and emotionally conflicting. Certainly not praised. Also I don't think the story of Two Sons is actually really praised all that much, to be fair. It's more the, hmm, mechanics, and the way that plays out, coupled with some really great (in my opinion) environments and level design. I know Bjorn has some thoughts about it. U;

That'd be great! I'll gladly take and accept all advice. I was also thinking of maybe getting Rosetta Stone, but I've heard mixed things. I imagine it's one of those things that either works or doesn't work for an individual, but it's such a steep buy-in I don't want to waste my money if I fall in the second category.

Sweet I'm moving to mars later folks

Doing work is hard. D: I have Anki on my phone, and in the past I have created my own flash card decks (to study vocab and kanji).

Maybe. The stupid hat is above ground, though, which implies to me he dug his way out.
