Yeah, the pop-in is something... special. I'd like to think as the hardware (CPU) catches up the pop-in would become less noticeable, or less extreme at least, but I dunno.

Yay!!!

I got no qualms sprinkling a bit of parm or dried pepper flakes on my pizza post-oven. It's not necessary but it's still nice. But this thread has become a hive for villainy and filth and I regret making it.

Idle Weekend August 21, 2016: Magic, Mister Worf
Twig replied to Chris's topic in Idle Weekend Episodes
Confession: the whole time the Sapir-Whorf discussion was happening, I honestly thought it WAS named after Star Trek's Worf, as it's such a ubiquitous TV show and Klingons do, indeed, have their own language. So, you know, that's me........ -
I really really really hope DC stays together. They were a lot of fun to watch this year. ):

I've been achievement hunting in Hand of Fate, and one of the achievements (for DLC, which I boguht, because I love the game) is "have 300 ore at once with the iron hunger fate" which IS NOT EASY. I should stop and move onto another game! Or at least a different acheivement... Also I downloaded Card Wars, a mobile Adventure Time card game? I only did the tutorial. Seems like it could be fun, but it's one of those dumb mobile games that requires connection to internet which I am fundamentally opposed to, so I haven't put more time into it yet.

Idle Weekend August 21, 2016: Magic, Mister Worf

I don't really have anything to add but I just wanna say, as someone who struggles with the concept on a near-daily basis (often from a perspective of feeling guilty about not wanting to feel guilty about feeling guilty (??)), I really appreciated your discussion about exoticism and appreciating the differences in other people. It was nice to hear many of my inner thoughts echoed by some smart people. Have I said I like this podcast a lot? Because I do! -

My average performance is great, but as I've mentioned multiple times (mostly in slack), after playing for a while, t he game is guaranteed to just suddenly drop to <10fps and it's only recovered once for me out of like five times encountering the bug. It's such a bummer. ):

Idle Thumbs 276: Hype and Anticipation
Twig replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Here's my input, as a game developer! Obviously I can't guarantee this is what happened, but it's definitely unequivocally 100% possible that the game had simulated orbital physics at one point in time, as well as stars being a physical object rather than a skybox, but they opted to take it out for whatever reason. Games change drastically throughout development, often many times, often without restarting from scratch, and often mere months, or even weeks, from launch. It's definitely not out of the question that even multiplayer existed, but they couldn't get it working right, or whatever. Everything they quote-unquote promised but didn't deliver is realistically achievable but arguably difficult, and thus could've been planned or even implemented before being cut for budget or time or desperate performance requirement reasons. Disclaimer: the lack of orbital physics is, bar none, my biggest disappointment with the game. I was so fucking super stoked about that idea, just seeing other planets or moons slowly moving around relative to each other sounded so fucking cool! -
Yeah I've been playing Runespell in between stressful Hand of Fate games (doing achievement hunting now, getting 300 ore at once with the iron eater guy is HARD). It's working for me! the story stuff I could honestly probably do without, haha. Please make it more linear!! EDIT: Also just looked it up and I was thinking of Lucidian Chronicles. They sound nothing alike, but CS being on 3DS made me think it was possible it was also on Wii U. Whatever!

I've got Regency Solitaire on my list already, I too have heard good things! I wanna say I played Culdcept Saga on wii u?? But I think I uninstalled it immediately because I was repelled by the idea of a free to play game on my console. I... can't be sure that's the same game, though. Card Crawl has been fun! It's rather simple - no deck building? ): - but fun. Working my way slowly toward unlocking whatever delve mode is! Still haven't checked out jockey, but I fully intend to eventually.
