Because despite that it (the original comic, that is) still managed to be better than most superhero comics. That sounded pretty confrontational. Basically: being designed to be the stupidest thing ever doesn't make it bad. U: (I personally don't really give a shit about whatever Mr. Bay does with the property. Won't ruin what exists that I do like. Which is pretty much... the comics.)

Hey that was a good joke!

Hah, thanks anyway. Amazon told me my new card would be here today by 8pm. It's not here, yet. It's not quite 8pm, yet, either. But it's not here, yet. D:

Wow those are fantastic.

I had an AMD Radeon HD 6950. I've ordered a new video card, as I just filed my taxes (I know, I did it really late), and am getting back some money soon. Should be arriving today! I'm waiting with much anticipation.
-
Hah, definitely. But at least you'll eventually not waste one? Maybe?
-
I like that chart a lot.

I am laughing very hard at this right now. I'm sorry. (I'm not sorry.)

I mean is that even real. I know some people are insane, but C'MON. In other news, I threw up a Bulbasaur on GTS asking for a Yveltal. Someone gave me one. Neat! Had on luck so far getting an Articuno, though. U: Now trying for another Yveltal, which I'll then trade for Articuno (and hopefully repeat for Zapdos).

Hearthstone: Because what Magic really needed was F2P mechanics

That sounds pretty good! Now I'm much more interested. You've pretty much sold me. -

GOOD POINT YOU HAVE THERE I hate how you can be screwed by RNG (though it's rare, it does happen, and is incredibly frustrating when it does). I hate random chance in general in competitive games. Obviously, any card game is going to be subject to this, but the degree to which it affects things can vary greatly. So, basically, how often can that happen in Hearthstone, and to what degree? -

If I hate MTG (and I do, though I don't begrudge anyone for disagreeing with me), what are the odds I'll like this? I intend to give it a shot, either way, but since I don't have access to the beta, all I can do for now is pontificate. -
On Friday I was feeling exceptionally down again (still no job, still waiting to hear back on Dallas job, I know they like me, but they might decide they don't want to hire anyone, after all), but started feeling much better when I woke up yesterday but then my video card died once and for all (re-seating the fan no longer works - it just won't spin fast enough for longer than ten minutes), so that was annoying as hell, but then today I actually took the time (because what else am I going to do - friends are all busy this weekend!) to fix my broken laptop hinge, and while it's not back to fresh-out-of-factory quality, it's better than it's been in a long, long time, although the outer display cover isn't sticking like it should (because I unstuck it!), so now I've got a strip of duct tape all up one side of my screen, looks great, and also I had a large coffee today, after not drinking coffee regularly for a couple weeks (which is, I suspect, the reason for a recent onset of dull, constant headaches I've been experiencing), so I'm pretty wired right now goddamn, I'm sorry for this run-on sentence. Also last night I had trouble sleeping (doesn't happen to me often) for like three hours and got out of bed to just start working on a random project just to have something to do, but then remembered that my computer wasn't working. So I laughed at myself and went back to bed, still unable to sleep, before sheer exhaustion forced me to. HUMPH. Feelin' pretty good, right now, despite everything. So that's cool! Hopefully I won't crash even lower later when the caffeine is gone. For now, I'm going to go make a sandwich. Yum.

Half the trades I try to make on GTS result in some failure that forces me to restart the entire game. Are you serious, Nintendo? How have they still not learned how to gracefully handle networking issues? ):

Wailords Management Consortium: Idle Thumbs Pokémon

I don't know from tournaments. I'm just kind of meandering about, catching things I don't have, for now. Dunno if I'll keep it up, but I'm enjoying the task well enough, for now, as an activity to perform while listening to podcasts. I wish there was a way to easily share my current Box status with people online, so I could show what I was capable of breeding, etc. Oh well. I don't remember if I posted my friend code in here (I have in the 3DS thread, at least), but here it is again, anyway: 3926-5126-4107 Gimme more safaris! -
Meanwhile, my laptop is broken. That is, the hinge just kind of SNAPPED the other day, so much so that I'm afraid to use it for fear of making it worse. It's been really loose for a while now, but out of sheer laziness, I did nothing about it. So tomorrow I'm going to do this. Oh boy! As a nice bonus, I'm also going to clean the inside of the screen, which has an abundance of dust at this point. I can't believe how many portable devices I have a dust problem with. Hasn't anyone figured this shit out, yet? Well, I guess I don't have that problem with phones, so clearly they have. Laptop makers, get on that.

Okay I just watched said episode and now I REALLY know how you feel. By far the best episode, yet. Holy crap it just went completely overboard in completely the right way. (Though the transformation still made me cringe. But that's unavoidable unless I just stop watching the show entirely.) UGHHHHHHHHH why why can't Japan just stop being so embarrassing.

Yeah definitely. I'm not surprised, but I am a little disappointed. If that makes sense. I liked the addition of the jump, though. It would've been BEST if after opening the box the game suddenly zooms out and rotates and you realize you're in a polygonal world built out of ASCII but you've just been looking at it from a straight top-down viewpoint and then the real game begins and it's just Minecraft except you're mining for candy and then you find special space candy in an asteroid impact crater and build a spaceship out of space candy and it becomes EVE and everyone is slowly populating this new universe as they unlock more and more levels and it's Candy Box: The MMO. Damn. I should go make Candy Box 3.

I think it'd be pretty cool to see it being recorded live, with accompanying chat, but I'm not sure how much the podcast is edited after it's all said and done. Obviously in some cases (like this one!) there's some weird shenanigans with looping audio or whatever.
-
I know exactly how you feel. ):

Oops.

I got the joke and loved it. That absurdity is part of why I love the podcast!

THE DESERT FORTRESS Hmmm. I beat the game yesterday. Felt really short, but to be fair, I didn't have much else to do. My life is a sad one... Game wasn't as enjoyable as the first one. Probably because I already expected it to turn into more and more and more. I dunno.
