The implication was that I am way worse than fourth! Brannigan got it. )':
-
Hey what! I've been nothing if not self-deprecating at every turn!
-
thank youuuuuuuuuuu

I have a hard time believing I'm fourth best on the forums so clearly this needs to be amended pronto.

I played through both Risen 1 and 2 sometime in the past year, and really enjoyed both despite my best efforts. I agree it's disappointing to drop the pirate theme ('cause fuck yeah pirates), but it's not like it was a very strong theme. Most of it was still generic fantasy with a thin layer of pirate dribbled over the top. Anyway I'm sorta interested and also sorta agh-another-big-RPG-that-I-actually-want-to-play.

Idle Thumbs 166: Cyberpunk Cop-Killer

I also have no accent. Well, sometimes I slip into a southern-esque accent according to some friends but I've never heard it. ): -
Didn't one of the GTA4 episode thingers have a dude dong up on the screen.

I like collectibles (to an extent), but dislike them in the AC games. Largely because the movement is nowhere near as fluid and uninhibited as I'd like it to be if I'm going to be running everywhere. I want it to be as fast as possible, but even up to AC3 (doubt it's fixed in AC4), I still get that "run up a wall because you accidentally hit a corner" bullshit that just breaks me out of whatever action I'm doing. I mean, it's annoying during missions, too, but at least there I'm not usually in a rush heading straight for a specific point on the map to open a chest to then move on to the next chest. Or feather or whatever. The other reason I dislike them in AC is because there's so goddamn many of them.

Wait why would that be gross.

Yeah it doesn't bother me in the slightest, either.

I'm for protecting someone's IP (provided they don't go all Disney about it), but I also wish there was an easy avenue for someone making fanart to sell it and give a cut to the creator. Because people are buying these prints for a reason. They want them. It sucks that there's no quick and efficient way to get this set up.

I voted for Wizard because purple, but also I'd like to see some T-shirt designs that aren't all "Idle Thumbs"!

Not that it matters all that much because you'll probably figure it out eventually on your own, but her name is Sheever, not Sheeva. I am infuriated at Liquid's success. UGH.

I almost got Dragon Commander, as well, during the sale, but decided to hold off on it. They're pretty different games, though, AFAIK? I mean, even taking out the Dragon with a Jetpack nonsense.

The no legs strat is one of my favorite things ever.

Bruno is probably the best personality in Dota. But I guess I'm biased because those suits. GD Studio in general is pretty great and they have a lot of fun with things.

I think I'm going to hire some fool (which you can also do relatively early on) and just make him/her my crafter. I haven't touched crafting at all so far. I unfortunately put some points into crafting on my knight because I didn't realize how the ability system worked. I thought the "next level" of, say, Man-at-Arms would just unlock at some point. But you actually need two ability points to go from level 1 to level 2 (and probably three to go from 2 to 3, etc.). So instead of saving up on points, I threw them in random skills assuming I wouldn't need them later. ): ...Also, I don't even know HOW to craft. So I guess I'll have to look that up.

If you're willing to be a dirty thief, you get so much money by running around stealing paintings that the cost of skill books is not a problem at all. I'm willing to be a dirty thief. I also rolled a rogue so I am more than able to get anywhere I want by using my GO INVISIBLE skill. :3 The one thing I will say is it's hard to be a melee rogue in combat. I've recently started using a bow and I seem to be a lot more effective, because I have access to all those different magic arrows now. A little disappointing, but I'm coping. Erkki: You can play co-op but... we didn't like it much and so me and my friend (who bought the double-pack with me) decided to just play on our own. The trailers advertise the co-op, but you definitely don't need to. All it does is split up control of the party. In single-player you'll still have just as many party members as you would in co-op. They are basically the same game, except co-op is a whole lot harder to manage because nobody knows what the other person is doing. Which I just realized I said in my last post. Whoops.

Idle Thumbs 166: Cyberpunk Cop-Killer
Twig replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
It was never stated in the book, and AFAIK never really implied. Rowling came out later and revealed this fact. -
I'm playing and enjoying it quite a bit. I bought it during the Summer sale to play with a friend (it was still in early access at the time), but we quickly realized this kind of game doesn't work in co-op very well. Too hard to keep track of everything when you're always splitting up, too easy to just go "I don't want to make the other person wait" and skip through the dialogue too fast, etc. Also FWIW I looked it up last night because I was similarly worried, and you eventually open up a respec option (but only for your two main characters).

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

The original Harvest Moon is the only Harvest Moon I've ever enjoyed! I couldn't get into any of the others I tried. Although I've only tried two others, I think. One of them was on Gamecube and the other was... I don't remember. Anyway the original is one of my favorite games ever. -
Yeah okay "sucked" is a strong word, but it definitely had issues. the first two and a half (or was it three and a half? I can never remember) seasons were almost nothing BUT moment-to-moment as the survivors struggled to survive and lived in constant fear, knowing nothing about anything, and that's when it was at its best. After it introduced all the island mythology and the other factions... Well, that's when it got less good. It didn't suck, sure, but it did significantly drop in quality, and that will always sour my overall opinion of things. Also the old man's right. Credits suck to watch. Anyone who cares about the credits can and probably will find them elsewhere, and read them in their own time. Actually I wouldn't care about the length of credits if these idiots didn't insist on putting largely pointless scenes after the credits that the people I'm watching with always force me to stay and see.

Huh, I'd say Lost was at its best on a moment-to-moment basis and sucked at the grand scale.
