So you admit that wave and point make sense, but you're still upset that they wanted to have a silly fun emote for the people who enjoy it. Am I misunderstanding something here? What's the big deal? Sounds to me like you don't like it so you think nobody should have it. I don't get it.
  2. Destiny

You're right, spending money on things the majority of the userbase enjoy is definitely a waste of money!
  3. Recently completed video games

    Yeah I know all that.
  4. Recently completed video games

That gid just reminds me how great Viewtiful Joe was. I need a new one of those. That's actually good. Or just a remake, I'd take that, too. GOD that game was so good.
  5. Feminism

Wow. That was incredible. I don't watch TV and thus don't know who this man is, but... Yes. More of this.
  6. Amateur Game Making Night

I also use Graphics Gale. It's really simple and has pretty much every feature you'd need for pixel art. I've never tried using Photoshop (and I also don't know how, beyond the very very basics), but I've heard it gets in the way more than it helps for pixel art.
  7. Ace Team's Abyss Odyssey

I then went and beat the Warlock three times in a row: twice with Ghost Monk, and once with Pincoya without having played her before. The Peacock Warrior is indeed great, as twmac said. I also like the Skeleton Warrior, and the Jackal, though neither of them are as tanky as the Peacok Warrior.
  8. Divinity: Original Sin

I want an essay on the conversational flow of this thread by tomorrow night or you're failing this class, young man.
  9. Divinity: Original Sin

READ THE THREAD PEOPLE GEEZ. TOO LONG; DIDN'T READ: IT'S GOOD IF BOTH PLAYERS ARE PATIENT AND VERY COMMUNICATIVE AND NOT GOOD IF ONE PLAYER IS IMPATIENT OR ALWAYS WORRYING ABOUT THE OTHER PLAYER BEING IMPATIENT.
  10. Ace Team's Abyss Odyssey

I've gotten decently into this game. It's starting to wear me down. It feels like some grade-A bullshit at times. I'm not sure if it's because it's actually bullshit or if it's because I just suck at fighting games. And make no mistake, I really suck at fighting games. I was optimistic at first because it has more in common with Smash Bros. than it does Street Fighter, in terms of straight mechanics, and I'm actually okay at Smash Bros. But... I'm not good at this. I find myself sometimes stuck in a corner while three dudes beat on me and I can't roll out because there's a bump in the way and there's always at least one of the three timing his attack perfectly to when I get up and then I just get knocked back down. I definitely find myself wishing I could just always be Katrien and just have an extra life. Very few of the monsters feel like they're... worth playing as. But I have to, because otherwise I'll never make it to the Warlock!* Also I kind of wish that when I died, I'd just die. Playing as the soldiers is not fun, and I've literally gone four rooms in a row without finding an altar. It only happened once, but it was fucking frustrating. I know it's a roguelikelikelikliekekleie but c'mon. I've beaten the warlock three times. Twice with Katrien and once with the Ghost Monk. I have unlocked Pincoya but not messed around with her, yet. I'm hoping she'll be more to my style than the Ghost Monk, whom I detest because he is so slow. I like Katrien's forward-air-into-standing-ground combo - it has served me well. I can't figure out a good Ghost Monk combo. I ALSO don't like the camp tokens, because when you are revived you don't keep any of your equipment AND you have to fight your way back through all the rooms, so you're basically forcing yourself to play in a weakened state, instead of just accepting the loss. The only time I've actually made use of a camp token (because every other time I actually beat the Warlock!), I made it down to the Warlock but had the starting equipment and no monster and died. That's also the only time I've died to the Warlock! *Although the first time I beat the Warlock I hadn't even figured out how to change into the captured monster, let alone actually capture one. The only monsters I'd picked up were from the special arena rooms where you're forced to play as one and kill four dudes. EDIT: I might have more fun in co-op with someone who actually knows what they're doing, though. I don't know if co-op actually makes things tougher, though, so the "help" might make it even worse! I don't know. I DON'T KNOW. I think all of my complaints above would not exist if I were good at fighting games. ):
  11. anime

Gotta love those shonen backstories at the most inopportune moment. I watched some Bleach, or read some Bleach, I don't remember. I know I didn't like it at all and read way more than I wanted to because everyone seemed to love it at the time. Ever since then it seems like everyone hates it. And yet it keeps going. Shonen is fascinating that way.
  12. anime

I finished Madoka. It was pretty good! I... I still don't know why it's so universally adored. But whatever that's life. Also what Yowapeda's season ended in the middle of a fucking race. I thought it was just a delay before the next episode or something, but no, it just straight up ended in the middle of day two of the three day race. Are you shitting me.
  13. Unity Questions Thread

uh i fixed it I forgot I'd changed the resolution to "Free Aspect", which breaks things OF COURSE when you're trying to do pixel-perfect rendering for pixel art with an orthographic camera. Ehehehhehe. What I should do is make a script to automatically change the orthographic camera size based on resolution, but I've been lazy. I guess I'll do that now! There's also this: https://gist.github.com/pixelrevision/2981863
  14. Movie/TV recommendations

Yeah this is just further cementing that I need to marathon all this dumbness with some like-minded friends. Maybe even the TV series, but... only if it's like really short. Which... *consults Google*... 13 episodes. I think that's doable, though if it's really bad we could drop it.
  15. Unity Questions Thread

They are, but that's not the problem*. It persists if they're not animated. I actually fixed the jittering - forgot to make my camera size the correct size. So now the sprite doesn't shake around as the camera moves. But it is still misalligned. Now just permanently one pixel up and to the left. There's also this problem where the dude there, that animation frame seems to be grabbing one pixel to the left (and, since I bet it's related to this lava issue, up!) from the sprite sheet. The blue crystals similarly suffer, but not at this particular frame apparently. *EDIT: Based on my thoughts as I wrote this post, I think the problem is how Unity's grabbing the sprite from the sprite sheet? Well, it might not be a problem WITH Unity, but there's clearly a problem here, and I think it's related to the sprite sheets. Because even when the lava wasn't animated, it was still pulling from the sheet. EDIT EDIT: No, that doesn't make sense. The colored tiles all around are also pulled from a sprite sheet, just a different one.
  16. Unity Questions Thread

I'm finally working on a thing again. It's just a simple platformer, yo. Which is great, I love platformers. Anyway, I have no idea why these blocks aren't aligned. The big stuff is zoomed in version of the little stuff to make it easier to see. They're in the exact same position, vertically speaking, and they're of the same dimensions, in terms of width and height, and yet they're misalligned. As I move the player around (and thus the camera, which follows the player), the lava block (yeah, that's lava, shut up D: ) jitters around both vertically and horizontally, so that it's sometimes aligned correctly, but mostly not. ANY IDEAS?
  17. Give 'em for free to me, then! But for real just set your inventory to private or only viewable to friends. It will stop nearly all random invites. I guess that's not an option if you actually actively trade, but I don't, and it works wonders for me!
  18. Movie/TV recommendations

Yeah I've also never seen all of any of the sequels. I'm sure they're awful. I've... seen the first one more than half a dozen times. Way more, I'm sure. Well over a dozen. It was a popular movie at my summer babysitter's when I was a kid, especially once she gave up on standing in front of the TV and muting the TV when there was something exceptionally violent or rude happening.
  19. Movie/TV recommendations

I feel like I need to do a Tremors marathon sometime soon. Need to find some friends willing to do it with me.
  20. Movie/TV recommendations

Do we have Tremors flavored Bacon, though?
  21. Movie/TV recommendations

Excellent. The world needs more Tremors movies.
  22. I'm uncomfortable with how this thread has meandered off the topic of helping Mington become friends with Olly. Can we please get back to the serious situation we have here, and stop joking around? ):
  23. DOTA 2

I didn't actually watch any of these interviews during TI4, but I clicked on this one today because I was curious what Kaci had to say as someone who has only been involved with, and probably only really known about, Dota 2 for a little over a year. It's a pretty good interview! Now I feel like I should go watch the rest of 'em. Also Kaci's awesome!
  24. Divinity: Original Sin

Or if you want you could go back and play Divine Divinity! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uxnO5GfWrU Yeah I know I already posted this in the random video game thoughts thread, but that's because at the time I'd forgotten then thread existed and besides it still makes me laugh and/or cry.
  25. Divinity: Original Sin

I'm not going to spoilerize this because is useful to know, if only to relieve some stress: you can eventually respec after unlocking the appropriate room in your homestead, nappi. Only your main chars though, not your sidekicks. You can also hire new buddies tipi amend that mistake though, should you choose to do so.
