Haha dang. I was thinking something like that, covering an older series or movie in depth, etc. That's a shame. Another option would be a sort of sped-up version of our own Twin Peaks rewatch 'cast, just going over an older series a few episodes at a time. Hohum. That's a shame.

So, is there such thing as a good anime podcast? There are lots of options. All of the ones I've tried so far are no good. I don't even know if I actually want one, but if there's a good one out there I'd give it a shot. Not sure what it'd even be like. A week-by-week "this is the latest episode of X" doesn't sound all that appealing, I think?

- read Merus' post - see that besides myself, only Chris, Jake, and Sean are looking at this thread right now - giggle just a tiny bit

That's what everyone says! I'm... not really that interested in doing so, though. I suspect it'll just end up being another Terminator situation.

Hah yeah I know what I SHOULD do but I also know that I am an unmotivated human being at the best of times. It is whatever! At least I program sometimes in my free time. That's more than I did a couple years ago.

FWIW I wish I could do art. I can do very basic pixel art and that's about it. I don't even know if I have the mental fortitude to start learning how to draw at this point, let alone animate, let alone do anything in 3D...

i've never seen an alien in my life Unless that Disney World attraction that always scared the hell out of me as a tiny child counts.

I also tried gif once. I assume whenever that big forum update was enabled 'em.

There's a reason I put it in quotes. They would put forth that they're the only side that matters because they don't harass etc blah blah hypocrisy. Anyway enough talk about gooberglab!
-
Oh I suppose that's possible. Well whatever everyone animate the shit out of their avatars. The great gif rebellion.

The "good" side of GamerGate. That is, the side that doesn't communicate through 8chan. Though I'm sure there's some overlap. EDIT: Guess I should specify that it's a subreddit.

Pills are random every run. The whole point is that you're taking a risk! Cards are always the same, though, and just require experimentation to learn.

I always assume that too. Besides I'm not about to watch a dumb movie twice in quick succession, once without the extra content and then once with it.

I actually don't know if I agree with that. Some of the stuff that initially put me off, I later learned was native to that subgenre. Though, to be fair, Evangelion may have been the originator of some of those tropes. And also, to be fair, I don't like those tropes in other entries of that subgenre. In fact, I don't really like that subgenre, with a few exceptions. The whole giant robot thing doesn't really do it for me. (Exceptions: Eureka 7 (not AO, though...) and Gargantia, pretty much - both very kinetic, colorful, and... fun. Oh, and Big O. Sort of.) I suspect I might be more tolerant of Evangelion were I to watch it again today simple because I'd be aware of a lot of those things - it might put it in a new perspective - but we all know that's not going to happen! Anyway, sorry, I obviously don't care if other people like or dislike Evangelion, but I am a child and I like to harp on it because I am a child.

I used to TRY to pull all nighters just to see if I could (who knows why i guess i was just insane), and I never had anything weird happen to me. I'm jealous. ): At some point, though I stopped being able to do it, so whatever. I'm old. Very rarely, I'll have small bouts of insomnia where I can't sleep for several hours even though I'm exhausted, but... like I said, it's rare. It helps that I'm not in school anymore. Heh.

I haven't played this new version much yet but in the old one it definitely can feel like you're at the whim of RNG for a while. I eventually got to the point where I could reliably make it to Satan about half the runs (and I'd beat Mom well over half the runs). This was before the first free mini-expansion (that I think added Krampus). Not that you'd know what that is as a total newbie. What I'm saying is even though it might feel like that, it is possible to become more skilled to the point where it feels LESS like that, even if it doesn't go away completely.

Idle Thumbs 184: Super Pools 'n' Ghosts
Twig replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Looks like Sonic's Little Brother. I kinda like it. -
I don't think Madoka is really that great (though I enjoyed it), but let's get one thing straight: it's way better than evangelipoops.

iax beat me to it, but yeah, FixedUpdate pretty much exists for physics-fudgin'. Also physics engines are weird and despite being designed to be predictable... sometimes unpredictable. It's my favorite part of games programming! :3

Dunno if I'd qualify this project as bad! It looks pretty good (based on this trailer), and (seems to) have something legitimate to say, even if it's slightly uncomfortable to watch. Though I don't find it all that uncomfortable. Maybe it's years of watching Freddie Wong and Corridor Digital. I'm wary of a feature-length version of this, though.

Haha why do all these new potential karuta club members only join after a bout of screaming and deeply personal revelations that you would normally not tell someone who's harassing you to join your club? That dude just threw a desk! Chill out Taichi!

I did, and I played it rather recently. Framerate was horrendous.

Normally I'd agree with you, but Ubisoft has had a lot of practice with using a billion studios for a single game. You'd think they'd have it down pat. I mean, there's really only been one flop (in terms of technical issues) in this series, and that was AC3. And I think that was mostly on PC? I don't know for sure, though. Maybe it was similarly shit on consoles. Regardless, they do this for all their Big Name Games. I dunno. Whether or not someone is a fan of the series, or a fan of The Ubisoft Game Structure, they're generally quality products. This just sounds like a huge mistake. It's weird.
