It's supposed to be pretty good. Is that the kind of help you were looking for?

With a name like that, I was hoping for a surprise Bitmap Brothers announcement.

Well, now you've gone and broken the code. Dickbutt's gonna getcha.

A proof of address by the landlady on behalf of the tenant, perhaps? --- I the undersigned, Mme Barbarie Georgette, owner of 17 avenue du Belloy, Le Vésinet (5 and 6) certify that Mr Dean Joe, born 20 November 1926 in Robinson City, USA, lives in this property since April 20th 1947. Le Vésinet, May 8th, 1947 Barbarie --- I'm thinking the chap's name is presented surname, forename - typical French formulation even now to an extent. (edited to correct the village name - it's pretty swanky, ergo the 50f note was probably just a hankerchief or a bookmark or something)

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS
Justin Leego replied to Henroid's topic in Video Gaming
800k combined, would that make it the best opening week this year for a 3DS game in Japan? New Super Mario Bros 2 was around 400k retail copies for example. -
Can't stop thinking about recreating the end credits sequence to Buckaroo Banzai in GTA V's Vespucci Canals. Thanks, Podcast Film Reference Question thread.

Guys don't worry about the PC port, it's coming. I looked up the release date of Skeletons by Stevie Wonder, the iTune they used for this trailer (and a pretty neat Grim Fandango reference), and it was first released on July 10, 1987. That means the PC game is out on July 10, 2013. Also there are some other numbers in the trailer, on the license plates and such, and you can do sums with them to make them add up to 7 or 10. Oh yes! And sort of urban, west coast, metro-based tribute to The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974 Matthau / Shaw version) would be cool also.

Close. I was thinking the starved, Nicholsonian brother of the tubby one from Kane & Lynch, Tre Styles from Boyz 'N The Hood if it were made today rather than 20-odd years ago, and someone who looks like De Niro but not enough so that they would become 'a distraction'.

The Polygon Pizza Hut pic was cropped from a Pizza Hut / Halo 4 publicity image. Unfortunate timing meant that the promotion was posted on Polygon (among numerous other websites) and flung into the GeoffKeighleyDoritoPope jouPRnalism Squenix IntentMedia whirlwind at maximum velocity. This review went down rather well though: http://www.theaveragegamer.com/2012/10/30/halo-4-stuffed-crust-pizza-review/

The Idle Book Log: unofficial recommendations for forthcoming Idle Thumbs Book Clubs.
Justin Leego replied to makingmatter's topic in Books
Seeing both Borges and Calvino already mentioned, I'd like to suggest Paul Auster's metafictional novel, City of Glass. It can also be found as the first of three stories contained within his New York Trilogy, and is probably best experienced within that context (I would love to hear a Thumb Club discussion involving all three), but it's a tale that can stand on its own merits if needed. -
Sort of like the Gordon Frohman of Halo?
-
Polygon did get a fair few snarky comments on that Halo 4 / Pizza Hut story but deleted a bunch (and changed the header image for something a that looked a little less like a high streed restaurant food chain logo) when things got a little too rambunctious for their liking. You could say that they pressed re --

Agree. The traditional PR dripfeed approach isn't appropriate for a Kickstarter pitch.

As a fellow potential deconvertee, I second this polite request for news.

That's why the Toblix 3000 is a must have.

Yet in PoP: Sands of Time, Ubi found a way to contextualize the fail state by elegantly implementing narrative flashbacks.

Well YOU forgot Commando. Forgot it, or have no taste for cinematic meisterwerks.

...Wheat Crunchies?

Totes. It's right up there with absentmindedly leaving your slippers on the other side of a cold tile floor.

You say that, but I have it on good authority that the story arc of Assassin's Creed III is in fact a metaphor for success in the cut-throat Parisian fashion industry, inspired by dinner party tales told to Ubisoft Chief Pigeon Yves Guillemot during many a late night soirée overlooking the City of Light itself.

Rather horrifyingly, I recently discovered that Mrs L doesn't adhere to established After Eights wrapper etiquette. What kind of hideous monster leaves empty After Eight wrappers in the box?
