Looks much more forgiving for Dark Souls, for people that may not want to suffer through Dark Souls, but still get something that's flavored like it. Aesthetically it looks a lot like Darksiders.

Yeah, that took a bit for me too. What took even longer was remembering that you don't put " " around the script name because components don't get them, but finding an object by name or tag do.

Alright I figure this is as good a place as any to complain about Unity: I have a piece of code that sets an object's rotation to a random 360 degree angle. I then need to find out if another object's rotation is +/- 10 degrees of the first object's rotation. The problem comes when Unity treats -10 degrees and 350 degrees as different values, because it just treats the angle as any other int. I understand WHY it does it, but it doesn't do it in the inspector and means I have to use a lot more code to accomplish the same thing.

The way the guy was talking about it having extra content made me think it'd include the inevitable DLC, so maybe this fall? Complete speculation there but he definitely implies a bigger than expected delay while promising extra content.

VaatiVidya, my go-to Dark Souls lore-source, has some evidence why he thought it would be in the future, which it seems to be.

The zweihander strong attack is the best thing. I pretty much exclusively used that through most of the last half of the game because the enemies tended to be a little bit slower. Nothing more satisfying than flattening the silver knights.

Yeah especially since, as I heard someone else describe it, Sif is just trying to protect you from going into the Abyss and suffering the same fate as Artorias.

Yeah I knew that, and I really didn't want to have to kill Sif, especially since it's possible to know Sif's backstory before the fight. Besides, I've killed EVERYTHING else in the world, presumably I'd have no problem with a few snakes either.

I just beat it too. My thought was that someone going through this would either be bitter, crazy, or arrogant at having to kill all these powerful beings, so I made sure I killed ALL of them. I killed all the bosses except Priscilla, and all four Knights of Gwyn. Now I'm just bummed it's over. But I did grab Demon's Souls, but something tells me I won't like it as much as the way the world is connected in Dark Souls.

I've basically beat everything in the main game now except Gwyn. I still need to go visit Ash Lake and the Great Hollow as I haven't been there yet. I've started on the DLC and am currently dying to the guy who brings you there. I was kinda overleveled for the four lords' souls bosses so they were kinda easy, but damn the DLC is hard! I also ordered the art book. I'd been thinking about it and it seems like it'd be the type of thing to go out of print quickly.

I agree, but I think that's what LotR is now, and it looks like the game treats it the same way. Why are there no shields in the LotR universe? (excepting the ones used for skateboards) I'm sure there are some, but none of the visual media seem to use them, and I can't remember any instances in the books either. It's just weird considering the resources he was pulling from to write it.

So it's going to be incredibly poorly written? Combat looks awfully loose and arcadey in a way that doesn't fit with what they're trying to get across in the trailer.

I haven't been there, but I've heard that the Pine Box is a great place, and walking distance from the convention center. It's apparently an old mortuary, hence the name. There's also a cider bar that I've been to that's pretty good if you really like hard ciders - Capitol Cider. Looking on GoogleMaps just now, it looks like the Elysian Brewery is not too far from those two, and people speak very, very highly of their beers.

I live here, and a friend and I were thinking of going into downtown for drinks tonight. If we don't, consider walking to Capitol Hill for good bars and nightlife.

Yeah, because of the 1.7 update, Bukkit is taking longer to update. Also, Cubedhost seems to be updating the server automatically, so I can't keep at a certain version, and I'm apprehensive to roll back to a previous version that would be compatible for Bukkit, lest it break something someone's already built.

Tabacco - how hard would it be to get a map up like we used to have? I did a bit of looking around but it seemed to be a bit over my head.

I went ahead and finished the game, and I'm glad I did. Kenway is probably the best written of the AC protagonists, and the game itself is probably the best written as well. I really liked the ending as well, as it felt more like a real ending to something, as opposed to what most video games do, which is just end. It was what I would have expected a pretty good character action movie to have.

So are they going to be shutting down the Demon's Souls servers (in the US)? I just got it, but wasn't going to mess with it until I beat Dark Souls.
