  1. +1 I'll play... we need to sort out a 'clan' tag, because war is serious biddiness:gaming: S.

Me, Patters, Toblix and Wrestlevania. I can only race the Revington with the comedy knob graphic on it, otherwise it's too serious. The cars name is 'Cheesy Stormtrooper' S.

these might be shit, but that's life and I don't have any imagination. "Like the older kids a school, this game will make you eat mud, then throw your bag in the canal" -- IGN.com "Scratching until you bleed was more fun that this game is" -- IGN.com S.
  7. I think, if you cant see a tag above their heads then they are fair game for some stabbity knife action... I think all your own dudes show up on the mini map but with all the smoke and explosions it does get hectic. I'm playing as 'm0nk3yarmada' btw. S. S.

Found some pics of the Fiat i was chuntering on about last night. Story is, one of the guys I work with had his Elise in for a service, the Lotus garage is also a Ferrari dealership I think, so he had the Ferrari Fiat 500 as a loaner for a few days. It's a very pretty car. http://forums.speedarena.com/zerothread?id=4488748 As an aside, my colleague had managed to peel the under tray off the Elise while driving at high speed through a big puddle! Do you think that will polish out? S.
  10. Well bought it through play.com, not going to worry about the three quid difference in cost with them and gamestation. It's that thirty five quid price break that makes me think twice. S.
  11. I've spent half an hour getting killed in the Bad Company Beta, sorta, 'borrowed' a friends Steam account and it seems like it'll really be one to get your teeth into, as long as you can find a group of like minded players... I'm not sure the gung-ho lone wolf will make it too far. The question is, do I pre-order for £24.99 through gamestation.co.uk or blow £35 through Steam and get the beta to play? S.
  12. Life

+1 Nachimir Even though I'm getting married to a girl I met through an on-line dating site (funny story, happy to be a geek!), I reckon the 'just doing stuff not looking for "the one" but it'd be good if we randomly met' method is the way forward. Might have some fun on the way too. S.
  13. Idle Thumbs Steam group and ID exchange

You don't get into cars with strange grown up's, do you? Thinking about it, I'd have ditched that friend request, the internet is full of fucking wierdos. 'My Little Pony' is obviously a 45 year old man posing as a 12 year old girl. OMG!?!???!?!!! LOL, A/S/L? S.

  15. My Computer Broke!

A couple of months ago I upgraded from a really tired(5 years old?) AMD Sempron with 1 gig of ram and crappy on-board video, to my lovely i7 (clocked up to 4 GHz) 6 gig of ram and a proper video card. The PSU smells bad, clicks and whines when I play games with the side panels on the case but other that that I can recommend self building... S.

Reckon some Forza wing and front splitter action would help with that, down force innit? And more stickers, don't underestimate the weight of vinyl. I have the curb issue with my Yaris too, so might try and fiddle with the compression damping on the suspension... S.
  17. Formula Thumb

Following on from miffy's sterling effort, I'm now broke from building my own Yaris. It's not quite 'yakka' enough yet, all show no go. But it rides the curbs well.
  18. Formula Thumb

Had that too! A mad scramble for the big drawer of wires much to the amusement of my feyonce and her sis. s.

The SuperYaris is far more pretty in game, flying past my ear... Awesome. Sorry to bail early, we're a one TV household and I can only push my luck so far. A plan is afoot though, VGA wires and a better net connection(ip over power atm) you never know, it might improve my driving, finding the ghost car effect quite difficult to work with. S.
  20. New people: Read this, say hi.

I'll do my best to not be a dick then. I can't rule out any first corner carnage on Forza or some fruity language. But I will apologise for the bad driving... S.

Thanks, have been using it for years, 10 at least... ohh that's a scary thought. A Quake 2 clan in my murky past somewhere. Thanks for the welcome, you all seem like a nice bunch of fellows. Live and Steam all seem to attract some real dicks, so it'll be nice to play with 'normal' people, I guess having some recourse in a forum helps with that. Ain't Twitter great!

I think enjoying cars helps, but it's probably just a crutch for a deeply competitive steak that the game seems to bring out... It's a great game for 'tinkerers' too, tweaking the gear ratios to get the car to bounce of the limiter, in top gear at the end of the straight can be deeply satisfying for some reason. I am a bit of a car fan though, so it pushes all my buttons, happiest in the garage with an oily spanner. I drive a Landrover Defender and have a 70's VW Beetle too.

How about a classics series? Old Jags, Lotuses, BMW and Mercs... Also what about an alternate engine series, race anything up to a class limit, as long as it's had the alternate engine/drive train upgrade. The Abarth 500s definitely should have a spot, the most fun to be had in a car shaped like a bollock. S.
