Finally! My BBC2 disc in the post... right then time for some hot machine gun action. Except it's Forza night with the Formula Thumbs... My BBC2 Gamer Tag is still m0nk3yarmada, as I managed to lock my actual alias to a friends EA account????

Soon my merry friends, you'll be able to witness my general FPS fucktardary in all it's glory... God I'm so jealous of you guys getting all pew pew action! It's turning me into a winey biotch. Mondaymondaymondaymonday....
  3. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

Still waiting for my disc to arrive, Play dot com are on my shit list! I'll actually have to do some productive stuff this weekend which is great!

This sounds so cool, I can't wait to get my greasy mitts on it. I have to admit that this is first game in a long, long while that I'm excited about playing, probably haven't felt this way since the original Gears of War. I watched my to co-workers playing the Beta one lunch time, it looked kinda cool so I persuaded one of the guys to lend me his steam account. The Beta game play pushed my buttons straight away, but what really struck me was the sound design. So subtle and detailed, I love the engine note on the tanks, a really believable turbo diesel, details that I can identify with. But it's those quiet calm moments between all the mayhem that give me goose bumps, you can feel the tension, it takes me to that 'gaming' head space, immersed. With luck I'll see my copy in the post tomorrow...

Some pics from last night, there is a bit of a theme appearing in my pics, shall we call it 'images of a robust racing style'? Wrestlevania, mid shaft. Wrestlevania, shafted. Detail - you can almost see him tense for the impact... :-P I don't remember us having a drift race... Thanks guys, that was a good one!

I find the adjustable weight idea quite intriguing, is it that noticeable when you add or remove weight from the mouse? After the initial adjustment period I mean.

Sometimes the multi-player game 'feels' like your the only one playing on your 'team', so dedicated single player story might give you that sense of 'achievement' that we all crave. Tonight I'll be using quote marks excessively.

Taking inspiration from the great British institution that is TopGear, how about running an Auction Challenge for next week? We set a credit limit and then race what ever we can buy in the Forza Market Place Auctions for that price or under. Waddaya think?
  9. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

Got shipping confirmation for mine today, so i'll probably get it on Monday
  10. Keeping your data safe

Blix, that really sucks, we've been dicked over a couple of times at work with these big 'all in one' raid drives failing (Lacie you fucks, you'll pay I swear, one day... ) I have to admit to being really blasé about backing up my data, I think I might have issues about self worth and that my stuff is of no value anyway, it's all dumped onto one hard drive, but I know I really should backup the backup... The only thing I care about is my phone contacts but Google looks after that for me. If it helps, you can have the run of my mp3 collection, copy what you want, just don't take the piss out of my musical taste. That's the only help I can offer...

Yeah baby, that's evo-fucking-lution! I think Patters has evidence of your foray into aerial automotive posted earlier... It begs the question, why can we put decals on the underneath of the cars, that's another 25% more ad space.
  12. Formula Thumb

My new project, a 94 Celica. Needs more than a little fettling...
  13. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

I have been seeing the damage X crosshair thing and the revive icon in my sleep, that possibly means that I should not be playing as much of the game as I have been. Also I have my new mouse and using it makes me feel like puking instantly, it's so twitchy... Oh yeah, alternate Sundays sounds good. S.

My apologies for bailing too, work got in the way (good work, but not games). Hope to be on for next week! S.
  15. Mice for gamers.

It looks interesting except I think you'll be putting pressure on the narrow edge of your forearm (over a table edge) rather that flat side (I think that makes sense) so you may end up with different problems. It also forces you to move the whole hand and arm with a pistol grip rather than just finger tips, I wonder if that would just put more wear and tear on the elbow and shoulder, moving the wrist problems up the arm? I imagine it to be more fatiguing. S.

I think I've seen the mouse that beats the Cyborg hands down. dl0SG4k0YOo Just bought a Deathadder so if it's crap I'll blame all of you who recommended it. S.
  17. Mice for gamers.

Do you write fanfic erotica? That's pretty steamy! S.

I am such a sucker for the gimmicks, this pushes my obnoxious geek button so hard but I just know I'd regret it the moment the novelty wore off. It's only thirty quid at overclockers.co.uk But the Deathadder and Copperhead are the Forty quid mark. Hmm, decisions decisions:hmph: S.
  19. Life

How do you cope with this kind of thing? It amazes me the mental strength and sheer bravery that people in the emergency services seem to have. I'm a selfish prick at heart and I think it's probably the personal sacrifice that I wouldn't be able to deal with. Giving people the worst news, attending accidents etc. you must leave a little of your soul there each time. Maybe you have given all you can give? Ten years is a long time, possibly time for a change... In the last ten years I've achieved to get a Degree, buy my first house, become engaged and survived redundancy. No great shakes, most people will achieve this, it's just sometimes, a nagging part of me wishes to go back and take the path less trodden and do something extraordinary. It sounds to me that you've taken a hard road, and then some, I'll always be jealous. S.

Mondays and Thursdays are good for me. S.
  21. I think when you unlock some or the better recon upgrades you can treat it as a bit of a death match, a long distance one. That can really suck the life out of the game though, so many times I've seen the attacking force held at the top of the first hill just racking up deaths and losing the match very quickly. On the other hand it does force the attacking team to think on their feet and try new tactics, that only works with cohesive teams so most of the time they are happy to sit there trading long range pot shots... My best scoring game was achieved by running after a tank with the repair tool... That's pretty strange for a game with so many guns in it. S.
  22. Formula Thumb

A few more pics... Toblix squeaking though on the last corner, possibly a little understeer? Patters puts the squeeze on my tiny MR-S, this didn't end well. Me Wrestle and Blix booting it into the last few corners... S.
  23. EA Presents

EA Presents: Around the world in eighty lays. (Leisure Suit Larry style?) EA Presents:Sherlock Homes, Ghetto Detective S.
  24. Gaming virginity loss.

The first system I had at home was this bad boy... Not the first game I played but definitely the first PC game I was addicted to was Lazarian on the C64. Donkey Kong Jr was my first love though, and it's still close to hand, it lives on my book shelf. S.
  25. The Goonies at the end with Sloth as a member, or at the begining without? That's important... The Steam overlay thing works, so you can use the chat channels without the steam version, but no cleverness with the users. Which is totally crap in this day and age. I've been using [THUMB] or [iDLETHUMB] as my tag, but [tup] is cool. S.
