You can set up a farm with mutfruit, corn, and tatos and have a water purification thingy set up to provide you with purified water. Those craft (at a cooking station) into vegetable paste which breaks down into adhesive. There is some other thing you can craft at a chemical station which breaks down into oil, but the components of that are not grown/renewable (one of them is bone I believe).

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)
juv3nal replied to Wrestlevania's topic in Idle Banter
Been listening to a bunch of Two Fingers instrumentals lately (it's an alias of Amon Tobin plus sometimes another dude?) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U49Crf_dsfI -
I don't care for Nicki Minaj's music that much, generally, but her verse on Monster tho.

I think there is a wealth of Twine based stuff that would fit the bill. I like Birdland and Ultra Business Tycoon III a lot but maybe those aren't short enough for you.

That sounds like precisely how it will play to me. Which granted, may be an unfulfilling experience for some, but if people think they still don't know how it will play, it feels like it's because they're expecting it to be something more than that. But I'm totally on board with just traipsing around looking at pastel dinosaurs. Also "despite a slew of media appearances, the creators haven’t been able to explain that properly" really rubs me the wrong way. It's one thing if the developers have explicitly said "hey we're going to explain to you how this game plays," but if that isn't their stated intent, it's not an inability to explain, it's a conscious decision not to.

So this blogging of a football manager campaign is old and and a really long series of blog posts rather than a single article, but I found it super enthralling despite my interest in playing football manager being next to nonexistent. It probably helps to care about football/soccer though. Three years later, an update on the utterly surreal fate of the real life team he had chosen to manage for his campaign: Unrelated, I really dug this Simon Parkin piece about a Ashraf Marwan, not least of which because I'd previously no idea he wrote about stuff outside of games.

This is a pretty good long form take on the Canadian election

The NDP kinda screwed themselves by situating themselves to the right of the libs with the whole "oh yeah we're totes going to balance the budget too" thing. If, as the left party, you let the centrist party come across as more keen on spending than you...well that's not particularly inspiring to your base, and in an election where strategic voting has been a factor like I have NEVER seen before, that is going to cost you.

Birdland is super good. It's by Brendan Patrick Hennessy the same guy behind Bell Park, Youth Detective who features in this one as an npc and You Will Select a Decision A review by Emily Short (spoilers)

I don't see it being more than $40? I guess I'd have no problem paying up to $60 just on the strength of who's involved, but I don't think there are a heck of a lot of developers I'd do that for. $15 and under and I start buying extra copies for friends. -
I've been playing on the ps4 and its pretty fun. I am predictably kinda terrible at it as I am with most multiplayer stuff, but definitely having some abilities unlocked and knowing the maps better helps.

As someone who is terrible at pvp, can someone explain how the pvp daily works to me? I just play one match and I get some marks even if I lose? Is that right?

So the creator of The Stanley Parable has a new game out
juv3nal replied to namman siggins's topic in Video Gaming
This talk by Wreden is pretty interesting...you can probably skip to about 12:58. Also its from about 5 months ago so there's no Beginner's Guide spoilers there, but it addresses some similar ideas. -

If no one's mentioned it, Limetown is kind of neat...it's fiction/sci fi audiodrama but delivered as if it were Serial.
