  1. Feminism

Oh, well, in his opinion homosexuality is a type of neurotic disorder. According to him, all the numbers on homosexuality are based on his research and Kinsey was a homosexual himself and chose his test subjects from prisoners, therefor his research was not objective at all. *shrug* Family, whatcha gonna do, hu?
  2. Feminism

That's hilarious, because the only reason I know of Kinsey is because my older brother, who converted to Islam, has talked about him and his research whenever he talks about how bad homosexuality is and that masturbation is bad for your health.
  3. Left 4 Thumbs - The Homethumbing 2

The time has come for thread resurrection! This is happening next month. All of us should absolutely play.
  4. Microsoft Surface

0.03 inches is about 0.762 millimeters. It's a bit uh... What's the english idiom for mierenneuken? Edit: Splitting hairs! it was on the tip of my tongue the entire time.
  5. Life

In the housing biz, that's what we call a 'dick move'. That sucks, man. Welcome to 2 weeks of stress? Do you have a fall back plan in case you don't get a place after 2 weeks, so you don't end up homeless?
  6. Life

Speaking of woodwork. I once met a pediatrician with a similar rule of thumb and I just gave up on a punchline.
  7. McPixel

I'd love some McPixel in honor of veteranendag!
  8. Happy Birthday!

Toblix, you are old, old, so old! Happy Birthday, gramps!
  9. The threat of Big Dog

Probably nothing, but I like that idea! Build another one and have them play each other!
  10. That makes sense. For some context, I never got TFC and TF2 has been that game that I don't touch for weeks and sometimes months, but always come back to. I wouldn't mind trying the game again with only stock items.
  11. Was? Still is, in my opinion. I can often feel team balance shifting when I switch to a sorely needed role. I do think the game is way more chaotic then it was at launch, but to me it's because each class is more versatile and I don't see that as a bad. It used to be bad in that the game got kind of impenetrable for new players, but the pool of newbie players got quite big when it went free-to-play, so in general the skill ceiling has dropped. What felt game-breaking a lot of the time was the servers that did instant-respawns, which completely takes away the momentum a team can have in a fight.
  12. Hey cool, I hadn't seen it yet.
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ck4YyrbPPB0 Fascinating.
  14. Really glad they didn't the answer the question whether Pyro is a man or a woman. Not a question that ever needs answering.
  15. "Adults Should Read Adult Books" - Joel Stein

Well there are very, very few games with actual adult sensibilities and he seems to explain his point rather clearly in the interview Ben posted: I can see where he is coming from; you have a finite amount of time to spend on things you do, what would better serve me as a person? A good book or 12 hours of Team Fortress 2?
  16. Happy Birthday!

Happy belated birthday to Skratche! I wanted to say it to you on the day, but then you weren't online and I forgot! Sorry!! Mr. Jeff Moeler, happy birthday to you too.
  17. Movie/TV recommendations

Honestly though, I think the bigger problem Phil Fish has is that he lets it bother him. True, there are a lot of internet assholes, but he actively engages them. I don't think that's ever worked out for anyone. To me, and this is just the vibe I got, he came across as somewhat self-destructive, in an ego related way. I really liked the film. It'll probably mean different things to different people, but to me it was a story about the personal motivation to put yourself through something like that, stemming from a deep love of video games. That and making them is hard. I was incredibly moved by Edmund McMillen's bit at the end, the bit where he speaks for the hypothetical kid "Hey, 2 guys made this, maybe I can make something too." Those 2 have earned all the success they got and I am so incredibly glad for them.
  18. Feminism

Us men have it tough, don't we? I'm glad these brave souls are standing up to the discrimination we have to endure.
  19. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

AOL was really ahead of its time!
  20. The Electronic Three: 2012

Haha, I just saw this. I'm about knee-deep in bullshit now. Weird.
  21. You Bloody Idiots OR A Tale of M$

    GENESIS DOES WHAT NINTENDON'T.
  22. Tomb Raider

    Quite.
  23. I've noticed that the search function is super finicky. Makes it hard to search for things if it gives an error if you have a number or 3-letter word in your search term.
  24. Tomb Raider

"When people play Lara, they don't really project themselves into the character. They're more like 'I want to protect her.' There's this sort of dynamic of 'I'm going to this adventure with her and trying to protect her.'" Maybe they should just shut up.
  25. You Bloody Idiots OR A Tale of M$

I have no problem with inferface changes, if they make sense, I adopt them reasonably quick. But hiding features and having to know the secret handshake to execute them is in my mind pretty much the opposite of good design. Apple, while most of the time user-friendly, can be especially guilty of that. Though it seems to be working out for them just fine.
