It's a little disappointing to see, as there is no way this is going to succeed, but not without reason. The shitty presentation is definitely an aspect and then there's his stubborn refusal to accept that that side of things is actually important to his success. Then there's the disdain he has for the only group of people who would've probably gotten him his money. His target audience, environmentalist orientated folk who don't normally play games. It's selling milk to kids who don't like to drink milk; I don't think that's going to work. I backed this project on the basis of Crawford's name alone, as I have a great deal of respect for the man. Had this been a project by someone unfamiliar I would've glanced at it a moment and moved on, sorry to say.

I think we'd have to organize evenings to get together if we actually want to play together, which I wouldn't mind doing if there is enough interest.

Quite looking forward to this! I would definitely like playing with some Thumbs.

Well, if you're specifically thinking about making games, then maybe Unity3D would be a better fit? I've recently been messing around with it and it's all very straightforward and there is a good tutorial base. It supports Javascript and C#, which from hearsay are excellent starter languages. Although it is only advantageous to you if you learn a 3D modelling program at some point.

Why didn't we have this thread before? I recently discovered white wine sauce, which goes wonderfully with fried chicken, but would probably be great with a variety of stuff. Plus, it's really easy to make. - 1/4 cup of white wine (best to use a medium-sized skillet) - 1 chicken bouillon thingy - 1/2 cup of heavy cream - about 1/2 tablespoon or so of cornstarch With these measurements, you'll probably end up with enough for at least 2. Fry the chicken for a bit on medium-to-high heat until it's nice and browned, then add the white wine and chicken bouillon, reduce heat to low and let simmer. Once the chicken is done, remove from pan and stir in the cream. I suggest taking the cream, pouring a little bit of it in another container and combine that with the cornstarch, mix it well and just use your fingers get rid of any lumps. That way, you can sort of measure how much cornstarch you need to thicken the sauce and stop adding it once it has thickened enough. Poor the sauce over the meat and be amazed by how tasty it is. I imagined it being great over green beans or french beans as well, but I haven't tried that yet. Once I have the freezing technology, I'm definitely going to try this!

Oh yes. I would sometimes borrow my mothers camera and you have to twiddle with 3 buttons and a scroll wheel just to adjust the shutterspeed. Some of the camera's out there, it's pretty ridiculous. Usability would be a thing to look for, like how quickly you can adjust the most basic functions you would want easy control over.

Unreal Tournament was actually the game that got me into shooters proper. I had to bike through the icy cold, to the city, and holy shit were my hands freezing. Just playing botmatches on Face and getting headshot monster kills. So yea, at the time I was totally a UT person. It wasn't until I was older that I could even appreciate Q3 which I do think is the better game now. Does anyone remember Tactical Ops? Some mod for UT that later went retail. I played that so damn much. It was in essence a more arcade version of Counter-strike. I think that is still my most played game in terms of hours. Clan wars and everything. And my best friends mom being worried that we were in a Clan, thinking it was some kind of cult-ish thing.

Horse flies, man, that's what I was told they were called. Those suckers are terrifying. They just land on you and take a bite out of you. Got a shirt on? No problem, they'll bite right through that. It ain't even a sting, they actually take a bite out of you with their jaws, cause THEY EAT FLESH.

Intended or not, why did it even need to install a browser plugin without telling me that it did? How is that okay? All of this makes me supremely uncomfortable.
