Pro-tip: If the boss has a habit of making you come in on Saturdays, he generally asks you at the end of the day, right? So all you gotta do is avoid him on the last few hours on friday, duck out early, turn off your answering machine and you should be home free, man.
  8. Far Cry 3

Affirmative on the PC thing and 4 player co-op thing. Has the loading screen hypnotized you and also are you drunk?
  9. Far Cry 3

I agree on all points. That body dragging thing was just weird. Many occassions where I figured I'd drag a body to a place, accidentally drop him in plain sight and then having no way to pick it back up. Not that hiding the body seemed to matter. A lot of times, the AI just grew X-ray vision going "A body!?" even though there's a wall and a building blocking line of sight. Pet peeve of mine on the delay for bringing up the map. If I'm gonna be checking the map frequently, I'd like that stuff to be snappy. And it's not! Boo! I tried out some of the multiplayer stuff. It's very complete for something that feels like afterthought bullshit. Maps are terrible and it has the worst CoD envy. I suppose I knew that already. Anybody willing to give the co-op a shot with me? I'm not expecting much, so maybe if any of you is not expecting much either, we can expect very little together! Exciting!!
  10. Games giveaway

Hi, I'm new, nice to meet all of your free stuff.
  11. Far Cry 3

Sounds like maybe a video codec problem? Or do you mean the ingame cutscenes that aren't video? If it's the latter case, then WEIRD. I don't know.

    What about litterbugs?
  13. The Hobbit...

Never read the books, couldn't get through them. Loved the movies, but after having seen the theater release, the extended editions maybe twice, I really can't watch those movies anymore.
  14. Anyone here know Unity well?

Disclaimer: I know very little about coding, but I am trying to learn. I think it's currently snapping into place, because even though you do the += 5.0f, it does it so quickly you can't really perceive the translate. So taking that float and multiplying that times Time.deltatime would be the solution to that. I think as a rule, you'll want to use Time.deltaTime: "If you add or subtract to a value every frame chances are you should multiply with Time.deltaTime. When you multiply with Time.deltaTime you essentially express: I want to move this object 10 meters per second instead of 10 meters per frame." Otherwise the speed of something is dependent on how fast your processor is. If you multiply by Time.deltaTime and the box moves into view, if you press space again and it doesn't move, I'd say there is something wrong with the 'else if' part of your loop? I know someone here knows what's up.

I would also appreciate it if the replied did not feature any rude remarks, snarky comments, trolling (blatant or otherwise) or swearing. And no *********s.
  17. Anyone here know Unity well?

Is that the actual code, or just what you found? I.e. it might be helpful to just post what you got.
  18. The Hobbit...

Huh? Aren't they displayed at 24fps, so isn't the blockbuster standard 24fps then, or what am I not understanding?
  19. Far Cry 3

Yea, and I'm on the 2nd island now and started dying a lot more.
  20. Far Cry 3

Yea, I've noticed this as well and have since cranked up the difficulty to hard. I'm enjoying hard mode, even though Jason Broman can still take a huge amount of punishment. Though I think the whole game is probably gonna be easier in general if you take a stealthy approach to things. Assuming all of us are playing stealthy. I'm a pretty stealthy guy with my silenced pistol, silenced assault rifle, silenced sniper rifle and bow and arrow. Having a blast with it. Some of the wonky AI cracks me up. I just finished taking over this one pirate encampment and in the pulled out shot of the whole camp, I see the car with rebels arriving; straight into a lake.
  21. Plug your shit

Congratulations! That must be hugely satisfying.
  22. Far Cry 3

I'm enjoying it so far. The worries I had about the increased gaminess and the awful story are confirmed to be true though. Although in case of the story, I should say "so far", since I have been forgoing the story missions for exploration. Still, Jason Brody, the frat boy with his douchebag buddies, the chosen hero... It's just too ridiculous. At the moment, Jason Brody is just that guy that I play during the story missions. When I'm trouncing through the jungle, in search of prey, I BECOME STEALTH MASS MURDERER-MAN. It feels great to be peering into an enemy camp from afar, making all these little plans that may or may not work out. On the gaminess side of it, it's just this whole visual layer of information I'd rather just have hidden, but it's not. It's always there, splashing things on the UI left and right, reminding you what you could be doing. There is very little left to the imagination and it's a little obnoxious. The radio towers are a good example. You climb them and once you flip a switch at the top, it reveals everything of interest/collectible on the map. The camera pulls out and is all like "check out all the cool stuff in this area!" showing things like ruins and little outposts, things like that. Sometimes it shows stuff like a crashed WW2 era fighter plane somewhere on a mountaintop and I am left thinking how cool it would've been to just stumble across things like that myself. But dammit if I wasn't goddamn pleased with myself after the enemy sprung my carefully planned out trap. There was one guy left. No biggy, already aiming for his head. But then I noticed he wasn't shooting at me and then I got mauled by a tiger. The end. Looking forward to other stories of local wildlife ruining your well thought out plans.
  23. Life

I do. I've always known, the moment I saw him. On the exterior, a man both generous and jolly, but on the inside it rots, festers and is generally... dirty. You have shown your true colors today, Toblix.
  24. Chivalry: What's Inside This Dude?

The servers have been packed since the Steam sale.
  25. Chivalry: What's Inside This Dude?

It's first person (although it does have a third person cam) and multiplayer only. The combat system is pretty alright. A lot slicker and tighter than M&B's, I think. There's slice, thrust and hack as your main attacks, which you can kind of chain together. Then there's an unblockable kick which staggers, and for a lot longer if you were blocking at that moment. Oh, and you can also feint swings. You got yer 4 basic classes 'ere, with an Archer; a Man-at-Arms, a quick and speedy melee fighter with optional shield; Vanguard, 2-hander and pole-arm guy; Knight, a heavily armored guy, the slowest of the 4. And everyone seems to hate archers. I heard in a Q&A with the lead game designer that they'll be adding flails in the near future.
