My elementary school self was so impressed that 1x1x1 decimeter cube filled with water was exactly 1 liter. Yo, conversions, Mr. White!

I can't wait to get into this game emotionally and phyiscally thanks to the improved graphics. I think the expression of the 3 dimensional venue creation will really allow me to explore in-depth.

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS

Wow! That redesign reminds me of that atrocious Bomberman Zero thing. I gotta say, ignoring the aesthetics, some cool combinations of mechanics. And I did like the idea of projecting robot man's face as a hologram though! Other than that, as a Mega Man game, I'm glad this got canned. -
Well, I guess I have a 3DS now! 5172 - 0353 - 2005 Let me know if you added me, so I can add you back!

I just landed there and jeez, wall of frustration after all that has gone before. The worst thing about it is, after I break away all the ice and you have to shoot a bomb into the things mouth, I see the bomb go into his mouth, then I hear this goddamn error sound because apparently I didn't do it correctly? Whaaat?

So yea, I bought a 3DS XL. One thing that was of great disappointment was that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, which I bought with the thing, doesn't go online, which is kind of what I bought it for, but I suppose that's my own fault for not reading the 3DS reviews. On the plus side, I got Luigi's Mansion and that game is charming as hell.

I have no idea. Plays fine for me after some fiddling with the settings. I gotta say, I'm having a blast with this. This totally hits the "so bad it's good" sweet spot for me. The shit these people say. Play it with a buddy though, because you gotta have someone to laugh with!

I'm trying to understand Frenetic Pony, not making a value judgement on what is the better choice or qualitatively better. Yes and I agree with that. I didn't say that stealth was about disempowerement, because I don't think it is. Exactly like you said, you're at your most powerful when you're hidden, but there's an inversion there when you compare a Thief to a Dishonored, which is what I thought alluded to. It's stealth as a tool in your belt, as opposed to it the framework everything else hinges on, i.e. a stealth game. OR SOMETHING.

No, because it's a barter economy. For low-level items you might be able to get them for a few scrolls of identify, but there are a lot more elements to be bartered with all of which have a mechanical purpose in the game too. Anyhoo, that's just at the lowest level; I've never seen trade between players for high quality items, but I suspect they don't pay each other with identify scrolls.

I think I get where Frenetic Pony is coming from. The games he talks about, if you were to take the stealth aspect away, are still about empowerment. Whereas classics like Thief 1 and 2 leave the player extremely vulnerable when they have been detected. To be at you best at Thief, you need to remain unseen. Regardless of the rules imposed by players themselves, the design of Dishonored at its heart not just "a stealth game" or "an action game". In that sense, I think it's incredibly valid to not think of Dishonored and Deus Ex: HR, and games like it, as stealth games.

This game in the style of Diablo 2 called Path of Exile has no currency; it's entirely barter based. Scrolls of identify and things like that are the most basic bartering objects you have when purchasing goods from NPCs.

Thanks, Capcom!

If Diabetes was on your wish list, then I think you got it. Happy birthday, man!

It was the most perfect flip.

Hey folks! Just a heads up that there will be a game of Thumbs tonight. Come play or be a disappointment to me.

I'm excited to see what kind of crazy shit they're gonna get up to! By the way, that doctor at the end? What a giant asshole! "Yes, yes, I know you'd like to know how long." Yea, excuse him for being in a coma! And a smug prick all the way through.

I too, beat this game! What a thing of beauty they made! Absolutely gorgeous.

I used my Idle Thumbs free audio book token! I used it to get The Devil in the White City, based on real people and events, it's about both the Chicago World's Fair in 1893 and Dr. H.H. Holmes, a serial killer who was active in that period of time. Both fascinating (the Fair part) and terrifying (the Holmes part). I wasn't actually familiar with Holmes, but he murdered at least 27 people and had an entire building block, which you could say functioned as a disguise for his activities. The guy had a secret chute in his office that he used to drop his victim's bodies down to the basement. Trapping people in the basement, floors covered with acid, or in an incinerator. Fucked. Up. All that said, the book luckily doesn't try to shock you with gory imagery. It kind of doesn't have to, as a description of the events is more than enough to creep you the hell out. The Chicago's World's Fair part was just fascinating. The vision behind that event; I don't think anything like that would ever come to fruition in the modern day. The book does an excellent job of weaving known facts (it frequently uses writing and correspondence from the characters) with flourishes that make the period come to life. I thought it was a good book to listen to!

I accidentally slept through the play date, but does this mean that nothing happened?

Why so low, IGN? I haven't been this excited for a game I know nothing about in a while!
