    That's weird, man.
  2. Google Wave

Me, me, me, me as well! I would be eternally grateful.
  3. Life

A doll with a cape lying on your nose while you look stoically into space? o_O
  4. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Someone linked me this a few days ago; my first introduction to Moondog. I absolutely love this tune. Written in 1955 for and after the death of Charlie "Bird" Parker. jSimbyS_YlA

My avatar is always reflective of my mood.
  6. Recommendations for non-fantasy Western RPGs

If you're going with Anachronox, be sure to install the unofficial fan patches. The original was rather buggy. I remember it being a funny game when I played it. I never finished it, because a bug prevented me from doing so... I was going to suggest , but alas. Why, man, why? It's such a badass game.Does something like Planescape Torment count? Jeez, I'm thinking, but all I can come up with is Space Siege (which sucks) and Borderlands (which isn't out yet). Is it just my failing knowledge to remember, or are there not that many non-fantasy western RPG's?
  7. Risen (Gothic successor)

How about this: I will not buy this game because I don't support a developer that fails to get things right after 3 previous games that were much in the same style as this one. The Witcher, on the other hand, is still great. The Enhanced Edition was such a generous package. Still my favourite RPG in recent years. Everyone should buy it and then play it. Please don't hate me.
  8. Good internet writing

I like Leigh Alexander's stuff. I read it from time to time.
  9. Brutal Legend on Perez Hilton

Before this thread, I did not know of the existence of this Perez Hilton site. Also, what happened to Jack Black's beefed up arms!? DID THEY LIE TO ME IN THEIR PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN?!
  10. freeware + gamepad

It's a matter of taste what kinda buttons/layout you prefer, really. I've always been of the opinion to do what feels right for you. I got Sanwa parts myself, just because they're so light to press. I've heard about the input lag problems with the X-Arcade adaptors, but the box is still a nice one. You can always choose to replace its guts if you're compelled to do so. Can you still get those leaf switches easily? Can't recall ever seeing them.
  11. Did you used to post on the UT2k3/4 boards or something? Your nickname and avatar look so familiar...

  12. freeware + gamepad

Dammit, that X-Arcade makes me feel guilty. I'm building my own stick and I've had all the components for months now, but I have yet to start the construction. Procrastination and all that. I hooked up my PS3 controller to my PC, which was a bit of fiddling around in Windows 7, but I got it to work and it's pretty great. Also, Runman: Race Around the World should be playable with a controller.
  13. So how come PSN is so shit?

That's really odd. I wonder what causes that. I can't think of anything different I'm doing other than that it's a wired connection. Oh, and living on a different continent.
  14. So how come PSN is so shit?

I guess it differs a lot depending on where you're located then, because everything on PSN downloads at +1MB/s speeds for me.
  15. Epic Disney on GameInformer

Are you being serious? Why would you want that?
  16. Movie/TV recommendations

The eyestrain is mostly with LCD shutterglasses, isn't it? Do you have that problem with polarised spectacles?
  17. Movie/TV recommendations

Same for me. Then again, I'm very familiar with Sam Raimi's early stuff, so I kind of knew what to expect. It kind of drags during the middle, but overall I thought it was an okay film. That sucks. If you don't mind me asking; what, in specific, causes this?
  18. Movie/TV recommendations

I watched Up in 3D. It only recently premiered in the Netherlands, though I had seen it months before when I was stateside. Such a wonderful movie. The first 10-15 minutes of that film...
  19. Left 4 Thumbs

... I feel slightly ripped off now. If I had let an American buying it for me, I could've gotten it for 23 Euro... While I paid 45 Euro for it now... That'll be the last time I'll buy something of Steam. In other news, I feel bad for the Australians: Story Here.
  20. Help Edmund McMillen (if you want to)

While you might have a balloon shaped fish, that technically doesn't qualify it as a fish. Therefor the comparison is still apples to oranges! They might look similar, but that doesn't mean they are!
  21. Max Payne 3

So this teaser might be real... Or not! O0vnwtwsXWc
  22. Game Train 2009: The Fall

Modern Warfare 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 next month!
  23. Risen (Gothic successor)

If they say that it was intended to work this way then they're either delusional or lying. Then, I guess developers usually try to justify their choices as valid around the time of release... It's a shame. I really love games with a big world, open to exploration. I wouldn't mind exploring this one either, but with so many good (and better) games coming out this month alone -- I'm thinking that this one isn't worth the price of admission.
