  1. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

The Thumbs office is getting a great picture of Steve. Since the Committee only has rights to these artworks for the purposes of printing canvases for the 10th Anniversary Weird Thing, if Steve wants a copy I'm sure he can contact atte after the canvases have arrived to figure that out.
  2. Life

He was a rescue so we don't know what his life was like before us, but we've always kept him indoors.
  3. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

As project manager for the Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Weird Thing Committee, I hereby take advantage of my position to rule that it's an act of appreciation, commemoration and joy, not trolling.
  4. Life

I've begun walking our 9 year old cat outside in a harness and leash. I know, I know... but he seems to enjoy it.
  5. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

    You wouldn't steal a policeman's hat.
  6. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

The majority of comments in the thread relating to extra canvases indicated that we should shrink the Rich Uncle/Cool Uncle diptych in order to free up more funds for "Core Thumbs" canvases. To that end, we are definitely getting canvases of the following (see my first post in the thread for pictures and titles): BigJKO's Chris atte's Sean (once completed) atte's Steve Blambo's J Allard Blambo's Bobby Kotick We can also do a Nick canvas, but have no firm commitments for artwork yet. I really want us to do a nice Nick piece, so if someone wants to do a Nick picture, can get me their title and artist name in the next 9 hours (i.e. by midnight PST), and is willing to make a firm committment to complete the artwork, we'll do a Nick canvas too. I believe Blambo was interested in doing a Nick picture but I don't think it reached "committment" level. Committing to do the Nick artwork means delivering a piece of artwork - preferably before the end of this week, but I can be flexible on this up to mid-Feb as long as you can remain in communication with me privately w/r/t your progress. If your work has been chosen for a canvas, I'll be PMing you this evening or tomorrow to discuss artist payment.
  7. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

If you can get the money in my Paypal account by midnight PST, PM me right now for donation details.
  8. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

Possibly Chris' reading of this was before we changed the title? If not, Chris, you spoiled your own surprise.
  9. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

I caved and replied to the tweet but I tried to sound as mystified as everyone else. If I failed, welp.
  10. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

I ordered the Jake piece on a huge canvas - hence why it cost a couple of hundred bucks. The other artworks are slated for smaller canvases because we don't have (6 * $200) $1,200 left in the donation fund. Glad to see that it arrived and was anonymous. I have the gift note drafted but I won't lay pen to paper until at least tomorrow, because the "last minute" donation window is open for another 11 hours.
  11. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

I updated the first post in this thread with all of the artwork so far. If I missed out your art, mistitled it, or miscredited you, please let me know.
  12. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

I'm not gonna get much work done today because I'll be checking on this every hour.
  13. Relaxing games recommendations

I might get roundly mocked for saying this, but I find Peggle relaxing.
  14. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

Yes, please do it! And as long as you can tell me the title by midnight tonight (PST), you can take the rest of the week to do the artwork. Note that if you deliver a title and then fail to deliver an artwork, you'll be roundly mocked. (Same applies to whoever is going to do the Sean artwork... Blambo, were you serious about that?)
  15. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

The problem with extending the donation period is that it becomes harder and harder to declare the thing "done." However, if there is anyone who still wants to donate and can have the money in my Paypal account by 23:59 (PST) on Tuesday, January 28th, please PM me and I'll send you the donation details.
  16. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

The artwork of Jake is due to arrive at the Thumbs office tomorrow. I don't know what the packing slip says about who ordered it (it might just list me), so I want to send the letter & note this week to make sure the boys know the Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Weird Thing Committee was reponsible! Current Status: Sent: Artwork of Jake Ready to order/send: Artwork of Chris, Steve, J Allard & Bobby Kotick. Cover Letter. Not finished: Gift note (I keep postponing it in case there's more art) Still being discussed: Something for Nick? Something for Sean? Total funds: $575 Spent on Jake: $281 Remaining: $294 We have juuuust enough funds to go ahead and order the 4 canvases I listed (2 * 10x8 for Steve & Chris, 2 * 24x19 for J and Bobby) and cover the artist costs. If y'all want to add in extra artworks - one for Sean and one for Nick - we can shrink the J and Bobby pieces to the same size as Chris and Steve, and free up enough funds for us to add another 2 canvases of the same size. Do you want to do this? Please speak up in-thread! I would like us to reach a decision on this by midnight Tuesday, so I can go ahead and write/send the gift note and make sure everyone gets credit.
  17. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

This is beginning to get a little overwhelming. I'll post a summary of our options this everning.
  18. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

That would be great. Do it, and tell me the title & how you want to be credited so I can add it to the certificate/note thing!
  19. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

We have money for four canvases. We have four pieces of artwork. Unless anyone has any last-minute ones to add (Teg?) I think our course is pretty clear. Well, technically we have 5 pieces of artwork if you include the N. Becon sketch, but who the heck is N Becon?
