I don't think so. For me, anyway, it's more that I wish they'd just wait a bit longer to announce a release date.

That cow scene brought some serious chills to my bones. Mostly because the atmosphere and scenery had put me into an incredibly poignant mood. The way the story centered around this guy's ability to change the past was pretty damn cool. I highly recommend the game for the very original experience. One thing I especially liked was that when the character felt cold, I started feeling cold. Likewise when he warmed up. The respite from the icy surroundings was surprisingly welcoming.

Ah. I was assuming you had bought it and Steam was giving you an error message. You should be able to run Dead Space. The minimum requirements stipulate the need for a radeon x1600. If I remember correctly, the 2400 isn't bad, but it was never a mainstream card. To clarify, when "Can You Run It?" says you will have no problems, it's only speaking to your ability to enter the game and play it. Sadly, the algorithm isn't so intelligent as to detail your frames per second. And even more sad is the fact that "minimum requirements" have never -- and seemingly will never -- accurately described the necessary hardware for an enjoyable experience. Neither do the recommended ones, which I daresay is even worse. My point is this: Never trust a website to tell you how a game will work on your machine. Never trust a developer/publisher to tell you how a game will work on your machine. If you're unsure, always come to a forum (such as this) for your questions. Oh, and I find a nice golden rule in system requirements is always multiplying the minimum by two and the recommended by one and a half. Unless we're talking about maybe Valve.

widescreengamingforum.com is a fantastic site. If you find yourself returning to old games, I'd definitely bookmark it.

I'm fairly sure that site only bases its conclusions on a simple comparison between your hardware and the publicly known requirements of the game. You *should* be able to run Dead Space, but for some unknown reason, you can't. It's likely a simple configuration error. Perhaps a faulty driver or the lack of some inane piece of software. This is the not so uncommon burden we PC gamers bear. Though for the record, I've used systemrequirementslab.com once, and it told me but one thing: It's irrelevant. If you know what's inside your computer, looking at a page with minimum/recommended requirements will tell you the exact same thing that site will. Edit: What exactly does Steam state about the game?

Yeah, and I find it controls rather well. However, you need to disable V-Sync. If you don't, the entire control scheme turns sluggish as -- something huuuuge. Sadly, it was never patched. Great game, though.

I've been going balanced with it. But I also installed a mod that makes the general vendor sell respec/reset stats potions. I do put more than average into my primary stat, and when I respec, it sometimes makes that stat useless to me, so I pretty much have to reset my attributes as well.

Oh come on now, I only gave him an alternative to *not* using him! I never said he wasn't important. Shittiness is clearly a quality most game developers overlook, and as I see it, it's gone on for far too long. No need to beat down on a man for trying to offer aid!

Can always download a mod to make him infallible, in case you still want the enchanting aspect. You know, without mortal terror.

According to Steam it'll be available in about 11 hours. Not sure if that's worldwide, Europe-wide or Norway..wide, but there you go.

I Come to Shanghai (Robert Ashley's band/album) did this (and is still doing it). I don't think his music was what people thought of when his name got tossed around, but then again, I don't really know how well his record is doing. Anyone actually know? It definitely got me to buy it. Edit: On the topic of 2DBoy: I'm glad it worked out and is apparently still working out for them, 'cause I totally dig their game.

I felt like they were just the right amount. It was amazing, because I think this is the first adventure game where I started every scene just *looking around*. Then, after talking to the various dudes and gals that needed help or a push/shove, I just silently contemplated the requirements. I think there was one occasion where things didn't immediately fall into place after this approach, and I pretty quickly realized it was because I'd stupidly missed a set of stairs. And such lovely music! Anyway, fantastic game. Well worth the 17 bucks I spent. That is a great comparison. "Slight" spoiler from early gameplay:

I thought stabbing the dragon through the head was redundant too. But then I thought, what if the dragon really is this almighty magical being? Right? I mean, it's not gonna die that easily! It might even resurrect itself! The wicked down-stab of righteousness takes care of all rebelling dragons. So I hear.

Just for that, I'm torrenting the game. Ohhhh wait, I can't, since no one cares enough to put it up! I'm sorry. Edit: To be completely fair and not at all mean, I have seen it on a number of private torrent sites I frequent.

I felt sorta guilty that I got the game for free, so I donated another 10 pounds to you fine dudes. Both BTDT and TGP gave me that lovely adventure game feeling. Just swell work, guys. Swell.

I've heard those dudes' open beta is pretty unstable, though. Meh, I'm still holding out for the couple of guys that currently comprise Team Gizka. Silly as it might be, I do feel like playing that game again.

As far as I can tell -- and from what I remember when playing it -- the Steam version is pretty much the retail version released on Steam. You get the DLC through GFWL. In any case, Steam should definitely not create any issues.

I found the writing lame (in the sense that it was sorta goofy) sometimes, but I thought Max's voice fit well.

Oh sweet. I'd seen the first two days, but I didn't realize he'd make more. Fantastic work this. Edit: Heheh, the other three were great. I especially liked The Impossible Achievement.
