I've yet to give that game a go, I've heard tons of good things. I feel like I ask this a lot on these forums but, how taxing is it on graphics cards? My PC isn't exactly top of the line.

I'm super tempted to record a Pacifist/No Alarm playthrough, as there doesn't seem to be an obvious one on youtube. Im having great fun playing it this way. I wonder how popular it would be 8 months after release…… Yer, even just a stun gun alternative, instead of openhanded, that would have made narrative sense. Or just any indication that death was not essential for those guards, espically with all the tutorial vids popping around that time. One thing I did love about that sequence, no HUD. For the 5 minutes I was like wtf? Where's my ammo meter? Where's my radar? Then I naturally just realised, hot diggidy, I'm not a cyborg yet, so I don't have them. Sweet! Actual realism!

Yer, I came across that vid too, achievement hunting after I finished. It took me til the last boss fight/puzzle to work out that EMP grenades killed botz, doihye! The best was I always reloaded or dies before I reached the elevator, so I only say the fail state cut scene thingy once, flipping shattered my soul :-P Anyway, its no problem Toblix! I even read through the entire damn thread, just so I didn't rehash too much that others had already said, just the kinda guy I am I'm afraid :-D While I agree aggregate endings are far superior to the last room buttom press, I imagine they are horrificly hard to execute. With this game even more so, most of the choice is based on how you feel about augmentation and human behavior, how's a game supposed to pick up on that? It could pick it up from ur conversation choices yes, but the end choices were very nuances, how's it supposed to tell if that stuff you said to that random NPC about Aug being dangerous means you want regulation or and end to Augs? I just don't think you as Jenson get to comment enough on your own opinion to give a system like that enough input data. Also, in my playthrough, it didn't seem so much like a button press, as a way to choose between 3 integral game characters opinions and their personal quests. I naturally encountered all 3 opinions before I rreached the end, so I knew there would be a conflict/crunch time somewhere further along. I can understand how some might have missed that and just seen it as a wall of text ONLY. Btw, have you heard of anyone who didn't go stealth? Almost the entire thread seemd to indicate that despite the option, everyone just played it as a stealth game, myself included.

Ok, this is some horrendous Threadomancy, seeing as the last post was in like…… November? But, I just picked up this game on the cheap, £8 from CEX, absolute bargain. I've just finished my first play through and I've started a second trying to get the Pacifist and No alarms achievements. First off, I think Edios Montreal did a fantastic job making this feel like Deus Ex, I could barely believe how much the game felt like the origional, the structure, the themes, the character interaction, the stealth. Even the Bosses! I know, I know, but I played through the origional just last year, so it was very fresh in my mind, and the bosses SUCKED in the first game, the only bright spot being that most of the time they forgot to lock the environment/arena so you could just run away until you hit a loading screen. I know it might be controversial, but I think awful boss fights are the most damn Deus Exy thing about this game, Megalols. Now while I agree the first bosses was just inexcusable, I had no problems with any of the others. The… let's call it the, "environment"… in the second boss, basically shouts at you the solution. The generators themselves take off damage, so on the lowest level a few Shotguns shells is all it takes. On the 3rd there's an almost comical glitch, where if you force him into his grenade throwing animation, run to a particular pillar and from then on he gets stuck at the end of the hallway and can't just be peppered until he goes down. All that aside, this is the best game I've played this year, if not the last few. I really hope they get to interate on this design and improve on what they've already built. The ending was awesome, at least I felt. I've never felt so conflicted over what decision to make, I no word of a lie, screamed at my tv "I don't f***ing know!! Tell me what to do!". For a Video game, that's pretty crazy, I know I invest into stuff pretty easily, but there were a few points in tthe game that got me man. That stuff with Malik? I reloaded that bit like 20 times trying to save her, but I didn't have the gear to kill that damn robot. I was furious with myself coz I couldn't work it out, that's a damn emersive experience if you ask me.

Maybe Scroobs, maybe. Ill need dimensions and power requirements before I consider it tho. So, I'm right in thinking its basically, Total War/Neptunes Pride? Map game in space?

Cool, what video card you got? My Core and RAM shouldn't be a problem but, I've got intergrated graphics atm that give me a hard time. Trying to upgrade but, its a Compaq and I'm struggling to both power and fit modern cards into it. It can't even muster enough to power a HD 6570 with a heat sink instead of a fan.

It really doesn't help that they've decided to go with "Goo-games". Seriously? Did they not Goo-gle that before hand? Have they not heard the Google headquarters Goo-girl joke? Hell, did they not just walk round saying Goo to people for a day and gauge their reaction?

I've always been interested in this game. How taxing is it on a system? I've held off buying it coz I'm not sure my crappy PC will run it.

Hey guys, Just spent the last 2 days drooling over Crusader Kings 2 and how much it will take over my life and its giving me the needed drive to finally get round to upgrading my pc's gaming chops. I have a HP DC7700 sff, its pretty small inside, but I'm looking to upgrade the graphics card to something from the Radeon HD series and shove in 2x 2gb ram sticks. As far as I can tell its DDR2 so that might limit me, as will my budget, which is k as low as I can possibly manage! I also really want to make sure CK2 will run as its literally all I'm doing this for, the game box recommends a Radeon x1900 series or GeForce 8800 GS and that's it. As PC upgrading really isn't my jam I have no idea how these cards compare in power and compatibility to any of the ones I'm looking at. So just a straight comparrison list or site link would be super helpful. Thanks in advance! Ben

Yer, I'm pretty sure its DDR2, and all the specs tell me the slot limit is 2GB which is also the limit of DDR2 cards, so it makes sense. I've managed to find a full manual for the machine that includes diagrams on how to install the cards, so hopefully that will help. My only concern is that my chassis appears to be missing the space for the cards to sit, I may have some very delicate physical adjustments to make. Ill throw up some pictures later tonight, I can very clearly see where the card slot is and it matches up to the diagram, but the space for it to stick out the back doesn't seem to be there. Oh, to clarify, its an intergrated chipset, which is why its not just a case of pulling out the old one and putting the new one in, lol. But, there's very clearly space to attach an additional card to overide the intergrated chip set.

Ok, follow up question. RAM??? That is all. Ok, so more specific, do I really have to listen to what it says? Like, what's the difference betwenn PC ram and Laptop ram? Surely its not gonna blow up my tower? I know for a fact the dc7700 can take a maximum of 2GB per slot but, is there anything else I need to take iinto consideration?

Sweet, ill save up and make the purchase, looking forward to this, I've always toyed with the idea of PC bbuilding and tweaking, never actually done it tho, I'm excited :-D

Is DDR3 going to cause me a problem? Is my board going to reject it?

I think the general reaction has been exactly that, just "Wieeeeeeerd… al…alright…I guess?… are you sure?…ok…ok?…wierd…" In the livestream Jeff put it quite well, the GB guys are just a bunch of editors and engineers, not business men and that means without experience they suffer financially. Also, apparently premium membership is all that's kept them going for a while now. He also makes the great point which was, which dumb idiot would buy/invest in a popular site and then destroy it? They've joined the CBSi because their successful and need a little help on the back end, not because its the first offer that's come along. If the GB guys keep the promises their making I'm fine with it.

Yer, thats a real good idea, coz if it is longer than the basic jump that'll provide a sealed section of ur territory its very difficult to reach, coz not many people upgrade range early on I was playin in one game where a guy and his 6 planets were completely isolated from the rest of the galaxy, an he had to research range to reach it, so wish i was him

Dark red looks kinda inactive, push that way, he's got one of the better positions

hmm, i think red is almost certain to attack u, so border defense on ur most westernly point is a must, i think when ur not in a corner somewhere and have more than 2 borders u have to resign ur self to losing stars, so if u do upgrade sacrifice cheapness for defendability ie, if a resource rich planet is right on the edge of ur space dont build economy on it until u have a large fleet there, i know its quite obvious but it took me a few days to start realizing. plus think about upgrade the industry on ur home planet, bump that bad boy up to level 6 or 7 and it churns out more ships than u know wat to do with, anyway back to the map, maroon is an unknown quantity, he may get distracted by red if ur border defenses on the few stars accessible to him make it clear u wont take any nonsense, and purely from the map positioning and not depending on which tech he's done advancing towards purple looks promising. Yellow is clearly a novice, tell red as much and act like u know for certain ( like u know him or sumat ) then he might be inclined that way

man! I would love to be dark red in that game, with purple awol thats the best startin position iv ever seen, if he has any skill at all he's gonna dominate the late game, if u haven't managed to forge strength through warfare i think he may beat u with sheer resource bombardment!
