Oops. Edited very quickly by myself
  6. Creepy Pokemon hack story

I was not ready for that metaphysics article. Some mind bending concepts in there, I think one of things he leaves undiscussed is the implication of other playeer characters. Ie Tiber Septim was actually a player who shaped the game to his will, Vivec is still a player character who is waiting for someone else to achieve the same CHIM and thereby force him to end his exsistence. Man, its 3 o clock here and its still too early for this………

Oh screw the boss fights in that game, I got stuck on the first for hours, just look up a gameguide and try and pretend like it never happened once your through it. There are some super simple exploits built into the arenas but, unlike the rest of the games mechanics, they are castrophically unintuitive.

I know, I played it through trying to get the 'never be seen' and 'set off no alarms' achievement, it was the damn near hardesst thing I've ever had to do in a game. I always found the alarm system consistent, while it didn't spread from area to area or group to group, it did alarm everyone that would realisticly be alerted. I just played a mix of those too characters, I was a stealthy guy that killed everyone, or rather knocked them out, its a lot easier to be stealthy when there's no one left alive to see you.

I think I got stuck just before Zen, I got outside and immediately got gunned down in my first 10 attempts and just turned my pc off.

I found a weird spot in that game that was a strange confluence of circumstances, I was the perfect level and the enemies were thee perfect difficulty. There were some big stone golem that were spawning tons of skeletons and I was never strong enough to kill them all, but I was never in danger of dying thanks to my awesome Gambits. I like my machine on for 3 hours and went up 20 levels without even pressing a button.

There's an augment you can get forr your legs that shields you from electrical damage, I always try and pick it up just before the second boss fight. Also if you used the boxes long enough you find a room with a fuse box in it. Its a real shame you didn't get past that point, I thought the next sections were some of the best in the game for atmosphere, they made some really interesting and bold choices about the level design and stuck to their guns. I thought it was the best game i'd played all year and ran through it 3 more times, I kinda liked how goofy it was and how well they hit tthe tone of the origional..

I never finished Half Life 1, and I have suh a baby game reason. It was too hard. I started it on normal and just got to a point where I was just throowing myself against a spikey wall of death and ould only progress through tedious quick saving and trial and error. I picked it up after all the talk on the podcast having never really played it when it first came out and I just couldn't gel with the controls. I don't know what it was but, I felt unwieldy and out of control until I put the disk back in its case, I'm usually not too bad with PC FPS but it was just taking the mick. The difficulty thing wasn't neccessarily that I couldn't beat things with the weapons I had or that the odds were unsurmountable, just that all it had to do with was luck and foreknowledge. Not skill, I could never fight my way out of a sitch with my FPS skill, if I rolled the dice wrong I was screwed. I just felt like I never had a chance against what was about to surprise me arround the next corner, I just had to die a bunch of time until I figured out the kill sequence and where all the ammo and medkits were hidden. I know HL is a bit of sacred cow but, I just quit and read a synopsis instead.
  13. I know this is on the featured list, so everyones pprobably already seen it, but I thought it was hilarious.
  14. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

Aw man, I can't wait for that, I've been reading the leaks and apparently there's and upgrade for the C.A.S.I.E aug. Someting call a Computer Assisted Reaction Recognition Interpretation Engine. Wait for it……… … … There we go. Hahahahaha, Voyager, what a show!
  15. That is something that most 4x's I've played struggle with. Ie, do you have X number of ships more than your opponent? You have won. Ship to ship combat struggle to include some of the ways to tackle this problem that some more standard RTS' have implemented. Morale, group disrupting weapons like cannons and grenades. Do you reckon a power distribution management mechanic would add some depth and tacticallity? Boiled down it. Would be a bit like the Stances infantry ground units in some games have. So divert power to shields, less weapon damage, more resilience and regen and vice versa.
  16. PS Vita

Is it just me, or has Sony's marketing of the Vita been almost non-sexistant in the UK? No one I know knew it even existed, it took mee pointing it out in. Shop window for them to believe exissted.
  17. Have you ever tried to make a game?

When you get that built, let me know. Maybe merge it ever so sllightly with Sins of a Solar empire? Which essentially Empire at War 2 but with worse ship combat.
  18. Have you ever tried to make a game?

I'm so damn jealous of you guys! I dunno what it is but, I think I must have been just in the next generation after, where programming your own games was never presented as an option. I mean like, how old are you guys? I'm 22, an it seems a lot of people who are the same age as me had wildly different experiences with coding. I really wish i'd grown up piccking up little bits of coding and programming here and there so that now, the idea of learning to program didn't seem so daunting. Is it a age thing? Or is it a country thing? Any other UK guys have a similar experience? Or an opposite one perhaps?
  19. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

And just a dash of poop……
  20. Fifty Shades of Pride and Prejudice

What do you mean? There was nothing weird about the formatting. Are you feeling ok? Is one side of your body going numb?
  21. Fifty Shades of Pride and Prejudice

Good lord that's disturbing, when's the Keira Knightly version of that coming out? Those reviews are awesome, my only criticism is that they don't delve nearly enough into just how ridiculous this phenomena is, which to be fair I don't think is humanly possible. It hink a Flash grand canyon scream is the only human vocal expression that can encapsulate it.
  22. Neptune's Bountiful Pride 6!

    And more moustashioed slugs
  23. Wait, I thought they hadn't released the Need for Speed movie yet, you telling me there's 2 already? And I can't believe their only 5 minutes long, what a rip off……
  24. Ha!!! Did anyone else listen to the Superego where they did a skit based around Karl Sagen?
  25. Wait, that's not a Victorian Countess with rickets?
