It's got to a point where everyone knows what's going on... ridiculously large scan range, everyone is withing grasp of each other.

Holy shit, now I'm being double-teamed by the two strongest players... well, I lasted far more than I expected and, quite frankly, was getting tired of this game anyway. GG guys, at least I learned that superior weapons tech is key by the end of the game, too bad my economy sucked most of the game and I couldn't get more tech, which I only did after taking 2 other players out.

My current backlog: -Batman (~30%) -Bioshock 2 (just started) -Infamous -Demon's Souls -FF13 (18h in) -Halo 3 and ODST -Gears 2 -Resident Evil 5 -Metro 2033 -Bayonetta -Fable 2 -BFBC2 campaign -MGS4 (sigh...) That's a lot of quality games, but lately I just feel like playing XBLA/PSN games, Picross 3D and TF2.

I can see people hating friends after playing this game.
-
In my humble opinion, the game turned out to be as it is due to the complacency of some players. I can't win anymore, the only thing I can do is determine which player will take the most damage when I go down in my blaze of glory.

I'm seriously getting tired of this game... especially when some diplomatic moves from certain players don't make any sense.

The only thing about 12 players is that there will inevitably be a few players in the middle getting the short end of the stick. I don't know if the same thing happens with 8 or so, but it would be more fair for everyone.

In the Civ5 booth during PAX East they mentioned how it would be possible to access mod information directly from civfanatics in-game. In the Q&A I asked if there would be Steam integration to facilitate an in-game browser, they said "We can't say anything at this time, but good catch!". I guess the cat is now out of the bag then.

CivIV Complete. Steam. 10 bucks. 'Nuff said.

Selling half of my liver or a kidney for beta.

I've been listening to the Tobolowsky files as well, excellent stuff! Thanks for the recommendation.

I played a couple of matches yesterday, but I did horribly. I never played Halo multiplayer though, so that was kinda expected.

I can see everyone that wants in both games thinking: "I won't make the same mistakes again"

Yeah, now the shit really hit the fan. To me it will be a toss up between Joflar and JamesM... I'm pretty sure I'm out of the game. But I'm just gonna say that at least I deserve the respect of being attacked by all my neighbors, so if anyone wants to join the fun now is the time.

I'm done with all Gawker websites. Joystiq and Engadget are much better anyway.

A couple of non-gaming podcasts: -Planet Money: ~15-minute, twice a week, podcast about economy but in very easy terms. Really good stuff if you're interested about things like how is the economy in Haiti recovering after the quake, why is there so much bribing and red tape in India, what is Goldman Sachs being accused of, etc. -The Moth: stories told without notes in a stage. Very reminiscent of This American Life, interesting stories from the people who lived them (all sorts of shit).

Well, there's always the issue of playing with the Brits... right now it's a +5 difference for EST and I get home pretty late.

Quite frankly, I also miss exams. You know all the parameters of what you have to do: take a look at the previous years exams, look at the syllabus, sit for a couple of hours and you're done. I'm in the last year of my PhD, I'm dreading every second of it. I can't wait to finish it and go work for a business consulting firm.

Damn you jennoa!!! Today you may win, but your future is written in your blood! ps: I'm not paying that much attention to the game, otherwise I wouldn't have made so many mistakes.

It took me about an year to have my account, but now I barely use it. I think it moves way too fast and it's too cluttered; in the end only a few people really have a voice. That's one reason why I choose to post here, at least it's more convivial.

I don't think I've ever bought a limited edition game, except Mass Effect 2 Deluxe Digital from Steam, which barely makes as limited. I don't have any desire to showcase statuettes or boxes, my living room is nerdy enough as it is (with 2 consoles and a shitload of games).

I thought I had screwed up big time in the beginning but I still may have a chance at this... On another note, it's ridiculously harder for anyone sitting in the middle. If this keeps going, I see some people ousted in the next couple of days.

King's Bounty is an awesome game, although I got tired by the end of the first one and never finished.

Valkyria Chronicles is one the most unique games in this generation, I loved it from start to finish. It is stunning visually (just search in gametrailers), story is good, characters are actually very interesting, gameplay is awesome. There's a caveat though: it's a strategy RPG, so don't expect fast-paced action, expect retrying missions because you messed up somewhere, expect some grinding to level up. Still, it's way friendlier than FF Tactics and Disgaea, much much shorter than both. If you've dabbled in SRPGs and you can accept the style of gameplay, I definitely recommend it. I'm saddened to know that the sequel is coming to the PSP, but I'm still eager to play it.
