  1. I just read the comics, now I'm pumped to watch the movie and get the game. Too bad it sucked at the box office...
  2. Picross 3D

The dragon? The 1st time I couldn't finish in the time limit... I finished the construction challenges and then a couple weeks later I took another stab at the dragon, I did it in 45 minutes.
  3. Picross 3D

All 369 puzzles solved, 60h of gameplay. I'm a little bit depressed now
  4. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

If only it had online co-op... oh yeah, that's right, it will have it when it's launched in the PS3! Microsoft really got the short end of the stick there.
  5. Movie/TV recommendations

    ARGHH!!! Cliffhanger!!!
  6. BioShock Infinite

It seems to me like it's Bioshock without the environmental boundaries... open-world anyone?
  7. Movie/TV recommendations

I watched the first "episode" of Sherlock yesterday, it's FUCKING great! Highly recommended, but be warned it's a feature film length episode (hence the quotation marks).
  8. BioShock Infinite

This is the one piece of news that I'm really looking forward to this entire year... Man, I wish I knew anything about making games and work at Irrational, that would be sweet.
  9. Jones in the Fast Lane

Kolzig, that reminds me of another game of my youth: The Seven Cities of Gold Ahh good times...
  10. Yay for Boston. Hope you like your winters cold!
  11. Movie/TV recommendations

I just watched Inception in an IMAX theater. Sweet movie, not the best choice for a first date though.
  12. Picross 3D

I'm now very very close to finishing all the puzzles... I'm at Hard lvl 10 now!
  13. Torchlight 2

Someone's gotta capitalize on the Diablo 3 delays. I enjoyed Torchlight for what it is, but it definitely needs a multiplayer structure like Diablo 2 for it to flourish. People need a reason to farm bosses for items and trade them with other players, which was the hook that got me back in the D2 days. And a cow level.
  14. Jones in the Fast Lane

Holy shit this game is a classic. Good times were had playing it.

The Barbarian is the most item-dependent class IMO... If you're starting from scratch, it will be much easier to use a Sorceress.
  16. Jeff Goldblum on Top Gear

What and how much of it does he smoke everyday? That guy just freaks me out... And by the way, how completely manipulated were Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz times the week before that? Jeez...
  17. Hello Thumbs, If you're a car owner and you want to help a fellow Thumbster, could you please take this very quick survey? It will literally take less than 5 minutes and this will help me a LOT for a project I'm currently working at. All information is confidential, this will not be used for any other reasons than research. One thing, the values are in US dollars. For the non-Americans, don't worry if some of the values don't apply, you can choose any answer or try to approximate as best as you can. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VLZVRWT
  18. Well, thanks to all who answered. Carsharing (company's fleet) started in Europe some time ago, but only recently that the peer-to-peer carsharing (someone's car) is appearing. There are some other p2p collaborative consumption models that are arising because it's a more economical and sustainable way to live. There's a lot of stuff you don't actually use all the time and just by renting it from someone else in a streamlined fashion the world could be a lot more efficient. Take cars for example, they're in average more than 90% of the time idle (thumbs...). Moreover, there's the fact that you pay $1000-2000 in annual expenses plus depreciation and cost of opportunity (you could've used that money for something else), two factors that people don't think when they do the math of how much they're spending. It may be convenient to have it sitting all day long in front of your house, but there's a lot more you could be doing with that money (video games!). Again, thanks for the few who took their time, it was invaluable to understand more what someone with a car would think about this proposition. It isn't an easy one, but it became very apparent when we looked at the survey results. It's now up to my group to present our findings tomorrow, I hope all the other groups managed to screw up worse than we did!
  19. Thanks for the ones who helped. If anyone needs justification for what I'm doing, it's a business case competition between 2 universities. We have randomly formed teams and a real business problem that we need to study and give a recommendation. It's stressing the fuck out of me, we already lost one member due to being "sick" and we have a shitload of work until the presentation this Friday. Still, it's fun to try something new once in a while...
  20. Limbo

I pretty much agree with what was said in the podcast, the beginning is incredibly strong, you're constantly puzzled with who is trying to kill you and why is there dead bodies all over the place. Best moment IMO is when you see "the end" but you get pulled away from it, I was shouting in my room: NOOOOOOOOO. Also, I'd love to see the entire map of the game in one figure... that would be amazing.
  21. Alien swarm

Play it on easy and it's very noob friendly... just make sure to give the tutorial a try beforehand to get a hang of the mechanics (although you'll learn about 5% of what you need to know).

Hello my name is dpp and I was addicted to Lord of Ultima. After a couple of months, I finally reached the last rank of the game and then I felt like I had accomplished something, so I stopped playing. Which is great, I have a couple of extra hours in my life now...
  23. Everyday Genius: SquareLogic

I played the 60-minute demo, it's right up my alley... I'll keep that game in mind, too much to play right now.
  24. Alien swarm

I hate people using shotguns... if you're in front of them, you get a blast up you ass, if you're behind them they're always dancing around to get as close as possible to enemies, so they're always jumping at your line of fire
  25. Alien swarm

It's similar to L4D in the sense that you need the know-how to do a level well... I think I know what I should do in the first 5 stages, but I still haven't played everything to completion. So far the most enjoyable was to finish a couple of stages in hard. Good stuff!
