I finished another game, 4am again... This time a cultural victory as Ghandi with only 3 cities at Prince difficulty. And there's actually an achievement for that...

There is, in the bar that has the name of the city on top of it, if you click the right part you can change production.

Finished my second game, this time a sweet diplomatic victory. I chose Siam because of the city-state bonuses and I let the AI conquer some of the city-states. Then I went to the rescue and liberated them, which counts as an automatic vote in the end. I rushed the globalization tech to build the UN, I was done with the game before the 1850s. Now I want to play as Ghandi and see if I can win a game with a single city with as much micromanagement as possible.

OK, now that I slept a couple of hours, here are my impressions: -super clean UI, love how there's a huge button where you set most of your required actions -city states are great, although very very "gamey" on some of the quests they ask or how they have beef with some other random city state -I like how the public policies synergize with your victory objective, although it means you will restrict your style to a couple of avenues down the line -automation still kinda stupid... like auto-scouts running into barbarians or auto-workers leaving half-done roads -enemy AI is debatable, but since I played chieftain I won't complain about it yet -I won with a cultural victory, in which you need to complete 5 policy techtrees and then build a wonder. I got caught up in a war with England at some point, I had to wipe them off the map and that took most of my play time. -fucking awesome cinematic: fMW5-YXTKtY

YES! It's today! Can't wait to play it, looking out my window and realizing it's night time and then looking out again and seeing the birds chirping at dawn.

They may have blew their wad in the first episode with Tim Willits and Todd Howard... I'm waiting for an interview with the great John Carmack now!

I finished the main quest in Dragon Quest IX... now I'm basically grinding for more lvls and grottos. Anyone else addicted to this game?

I have to finish a paper to finally get my PhD and study for upcoming interviews in management consulting firms. I'm basically smoking a pack a day and having an ulcer at this point... and the worst part is how Dragon Quest 9 keeps me awake until 3AM every day.

I paid about US$ 270 on an Asus VW266H, which I use for computing and xboxing (it has HDMI and DVI ports), plus it has an audio out jack so you can use headphones when playing the 360. Also, it has the option of mapping the pixels 1:1, so that it doesn't stretch the 1080p signal from the 360 to the 1200 pixels available in the screen (which happens in another 24" monitor I have).

Well, if it's free on PC I'll definitely give it a go... although I have no idea where the DVD is and I'd need to reinstall it

Well, they haven't explicitly said it's Texas Hold'em... although it is by far the most popular type.

Well, after Jake's comment I'm inclined to think it's still poker... but since they're holding more than 2 cards and they wouldn't make such mistake, it isn't Texas Hold'em. But it could be something like 7 card stud or Omaha hi lo...

I like that idea... something like Kingdom Hearts with characters from different sources, but using card-game mechanics. Chances of that happening: slim-to-none.

Admittedly, I just watched because I had seen the Law Abiding Engineer trailer... it isn't mind blowing, but good if you have time to kill and nothing better to watch.

YES! The Man From Earth is an excellent excellent movie. I'd recommend it heartily to any nerd here.
