  1. Thanks a lot Quebec government

A few friends and I once quizzed a Canadian on Xbox Live during a game of Rainbow Six Vegas. We asked him various things about what the country's like, "lol, time difference", and "those Elmer Fudd hats," one of which he claimed to own. When Qeubec cropped up, his response summed it up. "Fuck Quebec".
  2. Funny April Fools Joke...

    Shit was hilarious.
  3. Switching off at the plug.

It fixes the time automatically if it's plugged into Xbox Live. I turn off everything at the plug, just on principle. My PC makes an almost inaudible buzzing when the plug is on, and obviously the 360 has the light in the power brick. I like the PS3, because it's like you can properly turn it off without getting to the plug, but most of the stuff is in the same area anyway so I felt that I should just get into the habit of turning them all off. The Wii's little red light pisses me off too
  4. MadWorld

My pile of shame is almost as big as Little Eddie. I love the dodge move. The way they've structured fighting is great in that you can quite happily kill a guy in one swift movement, but they can also take enough punishment that you can headbutt them, throw them, stick a barrel on their head, punch the shit out of them, stick a pole through their face and still be able to finish them off with an uppercut onto a rosebush.
  5. MadWorld

Just got it, finally. Miffy, you're so right, it's fucking awesome. Only shitty thing is that it doesn't run at 60Hz. Puzzling.
  6. .deleted

I was in the last week of the closed beta, but for some reason the massive PLAY NOW button has disappeared from their website and I accidentally lost all my Firefox history.
  7. I might show up for this, haven't played with you guys for a couple of weeks
  8. Reasons to dislike the British press #343

I just want her to fuck off and die. It's not like these circumstances occur regularly, and obviously if it didn't strictly break the code of conduct then it should be assessed on its own merits. Is this an affront to decent journalistic behaviour? Yes, punish those responsible accordingly. Though it's true that the regulations should perhaps be clarified, good research there I'd also argue that adding someone as a friend doesn't really count as consent to effectively lie to them, creep about their page extracting information selectively and then publish it in a newspaper. A lot of my peers accept anyone who tries to add them just as a matter of course, and it's usually afterwards that they block them. Even my sister, who's usually pretty sensible with this sort of stuff, accepts basically anyone unconditionally on both social networks and IM. Not a great idea, perhaps, but there's no way that could be called consent. Even if it did, she should be reprimanded for intent. She went to their pages with the latent notion of gaining personal information which could then be used as a character assassination with a tenuous link to a decade old tragedy and then call it news, or investigative reporting. Surely there's something inherently fucking nasty about that which can be dealt with by the PCC.

Signed that petition, pissing awful. So many people here read that sort of shitty paper every week. Their apology was a fucking abomination as well. Apparently, having fun makes you a bad person.
  10. Sweet game so far guys. Very funny dialogue and awesome art style! Refreshing to see the puzzles are pure logic, even after Ceville, a fairly moderate game in that respect.
  11. Are YOU a rapist?

At first I was like this: Then I was like this:
  12. You have to burn the rope. I'll give this a download, I might knock up a feature or perhaps review for Thunderbolt in the next week or so.
  13. OnLive - high-end PC gaming without the PC

Sounds pretty shit and unworkable to me. Anyone else smell some Phantom around here?
  14. "We wanted to explore where nobody has gone before, inside the orange" Breaking fucking boundaries there, people.
  15. Google Streetview UK launches

Western civilisation is populated seemingly exclusively by idiots.
  16. Oddworld Pack on Steam

    Toblix <3 Steam
  17. Google Streetview UK launches

My grandparents thought it was awesome when I showed them an aerial shot of their house on Google Earth, and were totally disappointed when it wasn't on Streetview. Meh, I could easily go any of the places that are on there, but honestly, if someone doesn't like it then it's not really a problem and they can just get their stuff removed.
  18. Are YOU a rapist?

Yeah, tough read Nachimir. Makes me think of all the girls I know who've had stuff like this happen to them, never really thought about how widespread it was.
  19. This is fucking incredible. It basically highlights everything that is wrong with new-age marketing and capitalism. I'm blown away.
  20. I nearly shat myself laughing at "PUFFINTH!" Jolly good work, my fine fellows.
  21. Need Survival Horror recommendations

    I fucking love you Toeblix.
  22. Retro/Grade

Yeah, I tried this out a while back and enjoyed the shit out of the demo level. When's the full game coming?
  23. GoldenEye:Source

Oh, right. I meant Beta 3.0, which launched about a month ago. Anyway, I don't want to sound too negative, they did a great job overall, but playing something with console sensibilities on PC feels really weird. I enjoyed it for a wee while, but tired of it quickly. Maybe it's the above, maybe it's the fact it's very close in aesthetic and play style, but not quite the same, or maybe it's the lack of three other players in the room with me. It's probably a combo of all three.
