Just three? Here are the ones I found:
-
Here: http://www.latinoreview.com/scriptreview.php?id=63 And it's co-written by Mechner himself! Sounds interesting for sure, but El Mayimbe has been known to get overexcited in the past.
-
Mechner had hoped to branch out into movies for a long time. He had actually written The Last Express on spec and shopped it around. That's why I'm pretty sure he actually co-wrote Prince of Persia. Besides, Writers Guild of America is very anal about proper, uhm, crediting so what you are suggesting simply wouldn't fly. Not that any of it matters. Bruckheimer reportedly junked the script and got Boaz Yakin to do a Page One rewrite.

I've just seen Primer. It's a relly interesting take on... well, on something, and what it is may be considered a spoiler, so just jump right to Amazon, buy the film and don't look at reviews It speaks volumes about how stupid I am that I had no idea what's going on thorough the entire movie, but the beautiful thing is that it all makes sense. Every piece falls into place during rewatching and rethinking, but at first it's just this major kick in the gray matter.

Not even? What would be wose, if your X-Box crashed? There's a little cutscene if you don't make it and there's another in the end that only appears if you do. But one way or another, you get the girl. I'm hoping Electronic Arts will take notice and we'll have enchanced Flashback before long.

To be fair, not much hapens when you don't get to the princess in time.
-
But seriously, what did you expect? It's not a PC game (not exclusively), it's not even a DS or Wii game. And it costs more to make than some countries to maintain. It's hardly a surprise they're not doing a niche turn based old shool RPG. That would be just bad business. Yeah, but I think it's actually pretty simple. I believe this whole VATS thing is a variation on Max Payne's bullet time. You normally use real time, and once your APs charge up (which only happens when you don't do anything), you can unleash a targeted shot. It adds a tactical angle, but it's hardly Jagged Alliance And let's look at the bright side. Stop calling it "Oblivion with guns". Call it "post-nuclear Deus Ex"! Blargh.

Depends on your philosophy. Prince of Persia you can flesh out, make your own, go to town with it. Last Express on the other hand is pretty much defined, so if you were to do it, especially with rotoscoping as elmuerte suggested, what would be the point? It would be the game but without interactivity. Of course, that's just theory. No one would stop a Hollywood exec from making Last Express a Van Damme vehicle set in the future. But from the outset, PoP allows for more creativity than Last Express.

I could be crazy, but I'm pretty sure you had a save, like ctrl +s or something. Just one slot. On Amiga at least. But as I say, I could be crazy. Back then everyone was playing pirated copies and no one knew how the fuck the games worked unless they figured it out for themselves
-
I admit I haven't played the games too much - especially the Sands of Time trilogy - but nothing about the film's story, except for the dagger, seems familiar to me. It's an even older plot point. That's how Deianara offed Heracles.

From http://ps3.ign.com/articles/789/789358p1.html: No Spector this time, but if these new guys turn out to be smart people, that may not be a bad thing. On the other hand, I think Harvey Smith works freelance now, so it's still possible he'll have a hand in this.

Ultima Underworld was eariler. And you're all forgetting Descent.
-
Of course, but even so, they have the rights. At least the American rights and that - assuming they actually still have them - may pose a problem for those expecting a localised version (including me).
-
Just as Polish as The Witcher with all its polish.
-
This looks pretty cheap. I thought Vivendi holds the licenence. What hapenned there?
-
There were also two True Crime games and these were often no fun as fas as the city structure is concerned (can you say that a city structure is 'concerned' with anything in English?). In GTA, every street is designed to be as much fun as it can be. I doubt real-life architects had the same goal
-
Okay, my bad. Thanks for clearing that up.

See, that's a trap Rockstar set up for itself. We're not going to Liberty for the third time, dawg - it's actually fourth. Every numbered GTA game is set there and for some reason the developers are very determined to stick with the Liberty/Vice/San Andreas trifecta from the first game. The only GTAVerse city known to exist outside of these three is Carcer, but we've never been there if one does not count Manhunt. What I'm getting at is that with all the speculation, it still remained quite probable the setting of IV would be Liberty - and it is. I agree, and it was aparent even from San Andreas when compared to the eralier ones. But-- I would argue that's still a cliche. Plus, you're forgetting Vice City Stories - the protagonist there actually never wanted to have anything to do with crime and was constanly striving to do the right thing.

Yup, except he's not gay anymore since his agent "“didn’t want him to be playing a gay character for career reasons". From http://comicbookresources.com:

Pretty Frank Miller too, for better or worse I agree with you. Actually, this ending made Terminator 3 matter as an honest-to-God third act and had really shown the previous installments in a different light. Brace yourself for that, then: John Connor of the upcoming Terminator TV series, "Sarah Connor Chronicles". I kid you not (assuming it gets past the pilot ).

Since this is Idle Banter I feel compelled to add that while I enjoy zombie fiction immensely (even wrote some myself, but - of course - since then everybody did), I'm scared shitless of the undead as a real life concept. Most people ignore the idea of zombies (flesheaters, not those voodoo controlled pussies) ever actually appearing - it's like expecting pokemons to start roaming the earth - but I dream of zombie apocalypse every other week and really fear that those shambling fuckers may one day knock on my door... with somebody else's hand. What's worse, a friend of mine who's into witchcraft suggests that I have a precognitive potential. 2012 can't come LATE enough
-
I've noticed that too, even been guilty of it, but I believe it's mostly a stylistic choice, as to not repeat the same second name over and over again.
-
You're right. We've heard that it's going to redefine adult relationships in games and let the player relive his whole life. The second sentence, I believe, was that the project is dead. Don't get me wrong, though, I'm Molyneux' captive fan. The same way Herod was a captive fan of Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar, and, you know, the Bible. It sure is hard not to be: http://www.loinhead.net/2007/03/08/secret-feature-videos/. It's like he's this New Age love counsellor.

Eric asked me not to go into detail so I won't. But all the pretty pictures deserve to be shown. First, there were a few story outlines, one of which I hoped to be final, half a script and a fancy proposal letter. Then... A terribly scanned (my fault) first page by an old-school artist Darek Rygiel: After that, we found an interested publisher and went straight to Eric. Suprisingly, he wanted to be involved as a consultant... and decided this is a wrong approach. Back to the drawing board. Few weeks later... A totally new story outline and new pages. First one, a sample by Wieslaw Skupniewicz: The same page as drawn by Bartek Rozycki: And the second page by the same artist: Eric likes what he sees, but has bad news - due to his work on a new game, he won't be able to commit any more time to the comic. Heartbreaking, but understandable. One more e-mail, a 'go ahead' from Eric to show what was done so far and here we are. Enjoy. Discuss.
