  1. Now that's what I call a sticky situation!

It can double as a razor.
  3. I Had A Random Thought...

I wish I was more optimistic. But the world is giving me a hard time being so.
  4. I Had A Random Thought...

There is no such thing as reliable funding. Publisher funding hasn't been reliable either. It's difficult to get one party to give a whole lot of money. It's difficult to get a whole lot of people to come up with the same amount of money. I don't think crowdfunding will go away. The high rolers will eventually become smaller as there is little return on investment, that will be a problem for crowdfunding because you will need more people to fund your project. To keep these people around even higher tiers will be introduced that grant you piece of the financial pie. So you might get 10 investors who will fund big chunks with a return on revenue, and 5000-10000 small time players that get a pre-order and some swag. This model isn't really supported by kickstarter or other platforms.

No, I really have Venetian blinds, the Dutch name for that is "jaloezie" hence the wrong initial name for the thing I have.
  7. General Video Game Deals Thread

Hmm... not good. And in a week or two, Steam Summer Sale.
  8. Life

The typos didn't help I guess I was watching my Sorny TV while writing that. Also, I guess the proper English name is "venetian blinds". Who knew (not me apparently).
  9. Favorite Game Of All Time

I'm all for limiting the amount of games you can mention because it forces you to think about it rather than just spewing the whole list. It's a bit similar to only allow 5 grades for rating instead of 100. So, maybe 1 absolute favorite, and a runner up? As for Morrowind (not my "favorite of all time"), I totally agree. I've played quite a bit of Daggerfall and it was great, there was so much to do it the world, and there was so little force to follow the main story. With Morrowind this got dumbed down quite a bit, mostly because of technical difficulties, but the world received more depth in return. If Morrowind had the random content generation feature of Daggerfall it would probably have been my all time favorite. I hope the next TESS game will have a Morrowind, or 2002 option to play the game without auto help (i.e. quest markers, or auto maps). I'm not sure on the fast travel. It would be awesome if cartography would be part of the next TESS. got to think more about my own F-GOAT..

Awesome pitch video, I LOL'ed. Not sure if I want to back it. I'm not really into turn based strategy games, I think.

Today they placed wooden/bamboo Luxaflex® Venetian™ blinds at my place©. A real improvement to the temporary stuff I had. Adds much more warmth to the room, and it looks great. Well worth the thousand bucks I paid for it (I hope).
  12. Recently completed video games

so.. everything is greater than infinite? I'm going to call my math teacher, I've been lied to.
  13. Favorite Game Of All Time

I've been think about this for quite a while... and I still cannot come up with my favorite game of all time. I cannot find a way to quantify favorite. I think I have a short list, but there is no clear winner. And now that Rodi imposed the one game rule it's only making it even more difficult. I have to think more about this. Anyone got an idea on how I can define "favorite of all time"?
  14. No Ambitions, any advice?

Maybe you should teach sex ed, or become a guidance counselor. Both involve dicks and being pessimistic. I'm not really sure what being mature means. It's a similar vague word as "professional". I'm 31, have a good education, steady job, "own" an apartment... I guess I should be mature. But I don't feel like that all. Maybe mature is "being" boring, never making time for fun things. And if I look at people who generally would be considered mature or professional I rather see childish behavior. It's just that their behavior has more impact on others. Being not mature enough to teach? Does that matter? I think a teacher who operates more on the level of the students will perform better in reaching the goal (i.e. motivating people to become educated in the material) than some stuffy mature teacher. As for education, personally I don't have a lot of trust in diplomas. It isn't a good indication on what the person is capable off, besides being able to answer question correct enough to get a passing grade. But, the vast majority of the world sees it differently. Without a proper education you will lock yourself out for a lot of jobs. Then again, if there isn't really a lot of job demand and you are not very good and passionate, than an education can be a waste of time (and money). Anyway, that's my 2ct. Btw, I can't believe that there isn't anything you are truly interested in.

You know what that means right? Get a bigger office, obviously.
  16. Well, I really screwed up listing to this episode. I usually either listen the episode when I get home from work, or when I'm commuting to and from work. But today I worked at home, so I tried listening to it in the morning. I think I sort of missed half the episode right now as I didn't pay enough attention :/ I guess I have to relisten this episode.
  17. You should release those episodes a bit earlier... it's bed time already :/
  18. Video Games With Dynamic Music

The music Bit.Trip Runner depends on your health, well, sort of.
  19. «Game Shop»

Rather lame. Also, what is this game shop concept?
  20. Movie/TV recommendations

I saw all of spaced It starts out a bit slow, but after that the weirdness pops up and it's getting more fun.

I completely agree. Legalize the production and sale of it, and tax the shit out of it, just like with cigarettes. The end result will be, better quality pot, quite some tax income, and the same: price, usage, problems. In the Netherlands usage and sale is sort of legalized (it's condoned, but not actually legal). But the production and transportation isn't. So the price is high. When they legalize and regulate it completely I don't think much will change to the current problems. It's quite easy to get and consume pot in the Netherlands, it has been for a very long time. Yet if you look at the numbers, the Netherlands is quite low when it comes to usage. So all those people who think legalizing/condone soft-drugs will increase usage and problems. I highly doubt it will change much. Recently in some border cities of the Netherlands they tried to stop/reduce drug tourism. So only Dutch people would be allowed to enter these "coffee shops". The result was, as expected by most, that street dealers returned and with that, more problems. Some of the coffee shops started to sell to tourists again, and the city didn't have enough cops to, and deal with the street dealers and check on the coffee shops. I've never ever tried recreational drugs (well, other than alcohol, caffeine and chocolate). I do have a bunch of friends do use various forms of recreational drugs. In that circle of friends I'm sometimes offered by people that don't know me yet. When I say I don't use the joint simply passes and they don't "bother" me again. It's never like "you should really try is, man!", etc.
  22. Books can be active. I've hit people with books, so there.
  23. Nextbox 1080: The Reckoning

And yet, an iPhone is still more expensive than the PS3 was. MS would be smart to sell the xbone for $50 with a 2 live year contract
