I started digging a path for future metro tracks. I've created a path to the safe house on the west and to the village on the west. -

It went all to shit when I failed to kill the big spider. -
I went shopping today in the city where I work just before the xmas party. And about a half an hour before the event should have started I found a great comic book store. So I didn't have a lot of time to browse. Sadly they didn't have the missing hardcover of Storm. But I was able to browse the other editions of the new series, and now I'm sad I didn't fork over the 40 euros per copy for these special editions. Either, I have to return to this place to check out other stuff I might like.

GDC vault is everything from GDC since 1996. It requires a membership to view it all though (quite pricy). But it's the largest "academic" database on game development. There's also the Game Dev Magazine archive: http://www.gdcvault.com/gdmag They usually contain: postmortem, various tech articles, product info, and some generic (game) dev insights. It's usually an interesting read. I'm currently in the process of reading back from when I became a subscriber (2005)

I'm pretty sure they said the opposite. The subject of "ripoff" came to the table, as it was something "some people" said to Notch that Terraria was a 2D ripoff of Minecraft to which Notch responded that Minecraft could be seen as a ripoff of Dwarf fortress. etc. Knowing the idle thumbs cast members they would never label anything they mention as a ripoff unless it's actually a copy past of the same game. Case in point, they didn't even call Luxor a ripoff of Zuma (which is actually a ripoff of Balistic).

Can't be, you must have been thinking about UE3 (or UDK which is still UE3 for the time being). None the less, UnrealEngine isn't that bad for a point and click adventure, it's just that you have to do a lot yourself while WASD like action controls come well supported out of the box. But as Epic Citaldel has shown, point and click can be done quite well.

What metric isn't? And even so, if a metric is terrible it's no reason to now use it. You simply should not believe in it. I think those young-uns are not better than I am

I was doing well, but then I reached a classic Spelunky "everything goes horribly wrong" stage and died -
Especially when those younger people are already more successful than me.

GDC vault is quite a holy grail.

Obviously you have to go with CryEngine3 for a point and click adventure.

On Just Cause 2 MP. As I said in the Just Thumbs 2 thread we've been playing it a bit last monday on a 1000 player server. It was insane, but it was very smooth with all those people on screen.

Google already has self driving cars. And now they get Big Dog and Petman technology. I'm sure they are going to use this to update google maps 24/7. And while they're at it, deliver you packages.
