I also have troubles hitting the ramps on this table, it's always a little bit too much to the left or right. I also often fail to get enough speed to get all the way to the end of some ramps. So yeah, this table feels slightly off in a lot of places. It makes it look like a lot of tables have really similar basic ball paths.

Idle Thumbs 258: Change the Name to Game

That's 20:00 UTC (isn't it's PDT instead of PST?) -
I didn't have a lot of time this week to play pinball, and today I sucked big time. Played quite a few games and only 1 breached 10M :/ I some how managed to loose my ball in the left and right outlanes a lot, especially during mission 1 phase 2.

Fell through the world :/ But the orange pallet is soooo good. Felt like I was playing a game on the Philips 8086 again.

Played two games as the empire. Except from launching form the left sight (and more difficult skill shot I think) nothing else seems different. New highscore: I completed mission 1 and 3, and maybe 4, I'm not sure. Except for phase 1 of mission 1 I really don't have an idea what I have to do. There's so much text in the objective which goes away so fast. I guess it usually involves hitting the flashing lanes? Which is seriously annoying, the flashing lane indicators are shit. From what I can tell, only mission 1 and 2 are open until you rank up. After that I saw missions 3 to 5. I ranked up even more after that, but didn't manage to hit the mission select to see if there are more missions available. I've got the feeling the weird ship that's floating in the top right part of the screen is the indicator of completed missions. Which would suggest 4 missions until wizard mode? I don't like the "kickback" of this table, I keep thinking I lost the ball, only to have the gate direct the ball directly towards the flipper, causing me to lose it anyway because I wasn't paying too much attention.

Scoring in this one doesn't look that difficult. My opening highscore: I played for the rebels. I finished mission 1, and did a few attempts at mission 2 phase 1. It look like you also need to make promotion to get additional missions. I wonder how much different the empire game is.

Completed the main quest line for Grim Dawn I could play on for a bunch as there are some challenging areas I could visit. But I feel like I have to grid too much for that. Anyway, this game does feel a lot like Titan Quest (previous game of these guys) except that I do not get the feeling I've undergone a huge quest. I'm quite confident that I traveled a similar distance through the world as in Titan Quest, but it doesn't feel like that at all. The story I couldn't care much about, it was ok I guess. The gameplay is quite good, really polished, there are a lot of ways to develop your character which also feels well worked out. You can tell that they spend 6+ years on developing this game. My main negative comment would be that they game is too dark, both lighting as atmosphere, The world completely lacks happiness, or even a sense of safety in some places. As for the light, the outside world does have a day/night cycle. But in most areas day feels still quite dark. So the overall mood of the game is rather depressive.

I just finished Republique I played the first 3 episodes when they initially came out on PC... a long time ago. And just recently continues with parts 4 and 5. Part 4 was, weird. It was quite out of place of the other parts, and like part 5 felt much much shorter than the other parts. Like they were rushing the game to an end. There wasn't much story development going on in parts 4 and 5, more like trying to wrap everything up. The game mechanic seems fun at the beginning, but because rather tedious after a while. Especially when the girl didn't move as fast or proper as you wanted, resulting in redoing parts. As this game was initially a mobile game I guess it's quite a good one. On PC, must less so.

Idle Thumbs 254: Welltris and Wetrix

Duke Nukem 3D was one of the coolest games to "hack". Part of the game logic was in C like script which was compiled on start up. So besides being able to make the game easier you could also mod the game with complete new stuff. It was awesome. I've also hacked various games. Not really to make it easier, but just to figure out how to mess with various files. Made savegame editors for various games, or unpackers. The fun was in figuring out how things ticked, and to extract the music which I could can play while doing other things. -
I'm having trouble breaking the 10M the last few days :/

Damn, now I'm no longer in the lead.

I meant walking to an activity takes a long time, and is tedious as fuck. I usually do one thing a day.
-
The game feels really slow, constantly walking the same path wasting a large portion of the day. It annoys me that I cannot press on.
-
What I really miss is the sense of exploring a world. This was really good in Titan Quest, constantly pushing forward to discover new worlds. I recently completed act 1, and now I'm walking in the different direction of the world. Hopefully it changes and becomes more rich because the act 1 part was rather bland.

Oh man, the title sequences, sooo good. I liked them so much.
-
Meh. The ending was ok, but it pales in comparison with the finger pistol fight of episode 4.

Point Break. Besides that the plot is seriously flawed, they ruined the movie by adding serious nonsense. As if the insane extreme sports actions people are actually pulling off in real life isn't insane enough they made increasingly ridiculous through the movie. At one point they are racing motor bikes downhill while being chanced by a rock avalanche they created. Forget the remake, just watch the original.

Fuck that right drain. And damn the modes are difficult. So far I've only managed to finish 1 main mode, and so close to completing other main modes and submodes. Timing and accuracy is really important for the modes on this table. I've still got some codes for tables, including the current one; - StarWars Balance of the Force Pack - Iron & Steel Pack - Civil War So if you need it, just PM me.
