  1. Screen resolution

Yes, being able to scale the UI would be an important feature.
  2. I Had A Random Thought...

I need to get back to producing and reduce my consuming
  3. Idle Thumbs 157: Molymoto

So Epic Games is continuing their openness. So they made their roadmap public, as said in the podcast: https://www.unrealengine.com/blog/sharing-the-unreal-engine-4-roadmap And today they announced that they are going to make a new Unreal Tournament which will be partially community driven in development (still lead by Epic): https://www.unrealengine.com/blog/the-future-of-unreal-tournament-begins-today These developments are really weird. UT-next will be "open source" for all UE4 subscribers. It will be gratis to play. And offer a marketplace for devs to sell maps, mods, etc.? So, instead of making a full UE4 game, you can create and sell a UT-next mod.
  4. Fargo (TV series)

Fargo, the TV series, it soo good.

See... Phil fish was right about Japanese games.
  6. Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

I'll file this one under: 2fast2furious Ran straight into a man eating plant. It's also a good example on how the signal from my brain to my hands is much slower than to my mouth.
  7. Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

Missing a yeti, so I learned to fly...
  8. Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

It's not working for me for the past 4 days. I keep doing stupid things and die in boring ways.
  9. Movie/TV recommendations

If you like series with "wing" in the title, I can recommend you Green Wing. I watch Warehouse 13, but I don't like it much. I enjoyed the other SyFy series "Eureka" much more. But if you like the Warehouse 13 kind of stuff, I can also recommend you Haven and The Finder (only 1 season :/) If you want a mini series, I can recommend "The Lost Room".
  10. Jerkiest Main Characters in Video Games

No. He's an asshole, not a jerk.
  11. Jerkiest Main Characters in Video Games

    - Simon the Sorcerer - Roger Wilco Adventure game heroes are often jerks. I think the biggest jerk is Link. Instead of just stealing people's stuff, he's also destroying their pots and barrels.
  12. Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

I should have woken up a bit more.
  13. Plug your shit

iDeal is a big thing if you're targeting the Dutch. It shouldn't be difficult to integrate, Ogone claims to integrate with a lot of common webshop solutions and they provide iDeal integration, and also paypal I think.
  14. Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

Had some trouble with getting rid of a shop keeper.
  15. Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

Yeah... maybe. But I didn't think about that until much later.
  16. Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

THE WORST! So the seed didn't provide me with a lot of bombs. That could become an issue in the city of gold. So I reach the temple, do quite a good job to get rid of anubis. So there's the ceptre... next to a crush block. I trigger the block, it pushes the ceptre away... and it falls in a damn lava basin. Ok... so no city of gold. Continuing on through the temple... not finding much bombs I reach Olmec. Only one tiny bomb sack. This is going to be difficult. So I dig a shaft, time to lure Olmec. He missed my shaft by half a block... damn it. So I have to lure him a bit more. A very close call.. and now I'm trapped between the wall and Olmec who refuses the crush the last block holding him out of the lava death... No way out.
  17. Net Neutrality

Paying content providers don't get faster connections to the end user, non-paying content providers get worse connections. Also, don't confuse peering with paying for "premium" connectivity. Both can improve the connectivity to the provided service. But with peering a shorter route is bought. With premium connectivity packets are given a higher priority in being processed.
  18. Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

Made a bad call in the mothership
  19. Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

I wasted my bombs, couldn't get the key. Had an interesting death though.
  20. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

  21. VVVVVV 2.0!

are you fucking kidding me, that's insane
  22. Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

Got a very Spunkly death in 4-1
  23. Morrowind

2000-2002 is a huge difference. (Also, Might & Magic looks quite bad for a 2000 game, Redguard from 1998, although more action adventure, was already using 3D models). In late 2000 skeletal meshes became mainstream (although games like Alone in the Dark have been using it since 1993). However, Morrowind was really state of the art. There were no continuous open world games at that time. Especially not with the fidelity of Morrowind. (also not with the unstability and performance)
