  1. Hmm... very interesting and also very difficult to implement there are so many questions you will have to answer. And there are a lot of trade offs.
  2. Half-life 2 - episode one

    HL2 + HL2 ep 1:
  3. Snakes on a Plane (and Gnarls Barkley)

well, maybe... but wayne's world is simply a fun movie
  4. Tainted heroes or good boys

I may not agree completely on your character analysis. But... as you described them they don't fall into "a)" or "b)" as posted in the FP
  5. Tainted heroes or good boys

nobody saved the world in half life at the end of hl2 the world still isn't saved from The Combine
  6. Tainted heroes or good boys

Ok... then where are: - Twinsen (Little Big Adventure); came from nothing; became something and remained something - Duke Nukem (duh); always was something; he just "is" and hasn't "become" - Guybrush Threepwood (Monkey Island); never was anything; still isn't anything - Kurt Hectic (MDK); he's the friggin janitor, the only plus he has is that the suit fits him ... in the end you can generalize it a single category: the hero of the game
  7. Settlers II Returns?

ffs.... well thank you... now I installed the game again... R.I.P. spare time
  8. ok maybe I have no clue about black-and-white televisions, but I highly doubt that black is shown as white on them. Also according to wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Ed
  9. Settlers II Returns?

they are remaking it, improving the graphics and gameplay I wonder
  10. On the word Gamer...

/me equips his dead dog don't make me hit you on the head with this
  11. On the word Gamer...

wait a minute... in the USA you can shoot people in the face when you are a gamer? cool... will have to move than so that I can make the world a better place.
  12. On the word Gamer...

I thought you were a man of tomorrow
  13. Watchmen

The seriousess of the movie was lost with V* monolog of V in the beginning of the movie.
  14. On the word Gamer...

meh.. 'gamers' is just something like bakers or <sport>players. The problem is more that people assume "gamers" are completely different, like a "gamer" can't also be a curling player. something I really dislike is "coders" or even "scripters" instead of "programmers"
  15. Games are art

    yeah the post
  16. Games are art

    eh what!?
  17. Watchmen

I think he knew, but he thought they couldn't touch him without creating awareness amongst the rest of the country and that therefor he was safe.
  18. Watchmen

    I liked that bit
  19. New Smash Bros Game Displayed

And "Gameboy" just to make it fundamentally wrong
  20. PS3 to "KILL PC" also: it's not expensive enough.

I assume any popular OS would be run through virtualisation software. But still... I'll just wait and see.
  21. PS3 to "KILL PC" also: it's not expensive enough.

    How's that?
  22. PS3 to "KILL PC" also: it's not expensive enough.

If Linux will be on the PS3 it's mostly due to IBMs work.
  23. "Rockstar’s Table Tennis Eye-Opener"

How is that not offending? Anyway, miscommunication is a big problem in the world, larger than people want to acknowledge. And often they are even the cause of it without knowing (by trying to be fancy with words or figures of speech). A bit of clarity in communication can never hurt, well it can, but let's assume it's better to have more clarity. Because of this discussion I now know the views of others concerning the meaning of invention/creation/establishment/etc. of a (game) genre. And I hope that I gace back my view on it. That being said. Pong was fun, but I doubt I'll play Rockstar's Table Tennis.
  24. "Rockstar’s Table Tennis Eye-Opener"

I think there's a difference between "inventing a genre (\new form of gameplay)" and "establishing a genre" invented the genre => established the genre Fade to Black => Tomb Raider Xybots => Wolfenstein3D Alone in the Dark => Resident Evil
